Psalms 116

1 I love the LORD, because he listens to my voice, and my cries for mercy.

¡Hallelú Yah! Yo lo amo, porque Yahvé escucha mi voz, mi súplica;

2 Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.

porque inclinó hacia mí su oído el día en que lo invoqué.

3 The cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol (Sheol h7585) got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow.

Me habían rodeado los lazos de la muerte, vinieron sobre mí las angustias del sepulcro; caí en la turbación y en el temor. (Sheol h7585)

4 Then I called on the LORD’s name: “LORD, I beg you, deliver my soul.”

Pero invoqué el Nombre de Yahvé: ¡Oh Yahvé, salva mi vida!

5 The LORD is gracious and righteous. Yes, our God is merciful.

Yahvé es benigno y justo; sí, nuestro Dios es misericordioso.

6 The LORD preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me.

Yahvé cuida de los sencillos; yo era miserable y Él me salvó.

7 Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.

Vuelve, alma mía, a tu sosiego, porque Yahvé te ha favorecido.

8 For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

Puesto que Él ha arrancado mi vida de la muerte, mis ojos del llanto, mis pies de la caída,

9 I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

caminaré delante de Yahvé en la tierra de los vivientes.

10 I believed, therefore I said, “I was greatly afflicted.”

Yo tenía confianza aun cuando hablé diciendo: “Grande es mi aflicción”,

11 I said in my haste, “All people are liars.”

y exclamando en mi angustia: “Todo hombre es mentira.”

12 What will I give to the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

¿Qué daré a Yahvé por todo lo que Él me ha dado?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call on the LORD’s name.

Tomaré la copa de la salud y publicaré el Nombre de Yahvé.

14 I will pay my vows to the LORD, yes, in the presence of all his people.

[Cumpliré los votos hechos a Yahvé en presencia de todo su pueblo.]

15 Precious in the LORD’s sight is the death of his saints.

Es cosa grave delante de Yahvé la muerte de sus fieles.

16 LORD, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your servant girl. You have freed me from my chains.

Oh Yahvé, yo soy tu siervo; siervo tuyo, hijo de tu esclava. Tú soltaste mis ataduras,

17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on the LORD’s name.

y yo te ofreceré un sacrificio de alabanza; publicaré el Nombre de Yahvé.

18 I will pay my vows to the LORD, yes, in the presence of all his people,

Cumpliré a Yahvé estos votos en presencia de todo su pueblo;

19 in the courts of the LORD’s house, in the middle of you, Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!

en los atrios de la casa de Yahvé, en medio de ti, oh Jerusalén.
