Psalms 116
1 I love the LORD, because he listens to my voice, and my cries for mercy.
Ngiyayithanda iNkosi, ngoba izwile ilizwi lami, ukunxusa kwami.
2 Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
Ngoba ibeke indlebe yayo kimi, ngakho ngizayibiza ensukwini zami.
3 The cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol (Sheol h7585) got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow.
Izibopho zokufa zangihanqa, lenhlungu zesihogo zangibamba; ngathola inhlupheko losizi. (Sheol h7585)
4 Then I called on the LORD’s name: “LORD, I beg you, deliver my soul.”
Ngasengibiza ibizo leNkosi, ngathi: O Nkosi, khulula umphefumulo wami.
5 The LORD is gracious and righteous. Yes, our God is merciful.
Ilomusa iNkosi, ilungile; ye, uNkulunkulu wethu ulesihawu.
6 The LORD preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me.
INkosi iyabalondoloza abathobekileyo; ngehliselwa phansi, yasingisindisa.
7 Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.
Buyela, mphefumulo wami, ekuphumuleni kwakho, ngoba iNkosi ikuphethe ngomusa.
8 For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
Ngoba ikhulule umphefumulo wami ekufeni, amehlo ami ezinyembezini, unyawo lwami ekuweni.
9 I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
Ngizahamba phambi kweNkosi emazweni abaphilayo.
10 I believed, therefore I said, “I was greatly afflicted.”
Ngakholwa, ngakho ngikhulumile. Mina ngahlupheka kakhulu.
11 I said in my haste, “All people are liars.”
Mina ngathi ekuphangiseni kwami: Wonke umuntu ungumqambimanga.
12 What will I give to the LORD for all his benefits toward me?
Ngizabuyiselani eNkosiningazo zonke inzuzo zayo kimi?
13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call on the LORD’s name.
Ngizathatha inkezo yosindiso, ngibize ibizo leNkosi.
14 I will pay my vows to the LORD, yes, in the presence of all his people.
Ngizakhokha izifungo zami eNkosini, khathesi phambi kwabantu bayo bonke.
15 Precious in the LORD’s sight is the death of his saints.
Kuligugu emehlweni eNkosi ukufa kwabangcwele bayo.
16 LORD, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your servant girl. You have freed me from my chains.
Hawu Nkosi, isibili ngiyinceku yakho, ngiyinceku yakho, indodana yencekukazi yakho; uthukulule izibopho zami.
17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on the LORD’s name.
Ngizakuhlabela umhlatshelo wokubonga, ngibize ibizo leNkosi.
18 I will pay my vows to the LORD, yes, in the presence of all his people,
Ngizakhokha izifungo zami eNkosini, khathesi phambi kwabantu bayo bonke,
19 in the courts of the LORD’s house, in the middle of you, Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!
