Proverbs 9
1 Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars.
| حکمت، خانه خود را بنا کرده، و هفت ستونهای خویش را تراشیده است. | ۱ |
2 She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table.
| ذبایح خود را ذبح نموده و شراب خود را ممزوج ساخته و سفره خود را نیز آراسته است. | ۲ |
3 She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city:
| کنیزان خود را فرستاده، ندا کرده است، بر پشتهای بلندشهر. | ۳ |
4 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
| هر‌که جاهل باشد به اینجا بیاید، و هر‌که ناقص العقل است او را می‌گوید. | ۴ |
5 “Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed!
| بیایید از غذای من بخورید، و از شرابی که ممزوج ساخته‌ام بنوشید. | ۵ |
6 Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.”
| جهالت را ترک کرده، زنده بمانید، و به طریق فهم سلوک نمایید. | ۶ |
7 One who corrects a mocker invites insult. One who reproves a wicked man invites abuse.
| هر‌که استهزاکننده راتادیب نماید، برای خویشتن رسوایی را تحصیل کند، و هر‌که شریر را تنبیه نماید برای او عیب می‌باشد. | ۷ |
8 Do not reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise person, and he will love you.
| استهزاکننده را تنبیه منما مبادا از تونفرت کند، اما مرد حکیم را تنبیه نما که تو رادوست خواهد داشت. | ۸ |
9 Instruct a wise person, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous person, and he will increase in learning.
| مرد حکیم را پند ده که زیاده حکیم خواهد شد. مرد عادل را تعلیم ده که علمش خواهد افزود. | ۹ |
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
| ابتدای حکمت ترس خداوند است، و معرفت قدوس فطانت می‌باشد. | ۱۰ |
11 For by me your days will be multiplied. The years of your life will be increased.
| زیرا که به واسطه من روزهای تو کثیر خواهدشد، و سالهای عمر از برایت زیاده خواهدگردید. | ۱۱ |
12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it.
| اگر حکیم هستی، برای خویشتن حکیم هستی. و اگر استهزا نمایی به تنهایی متحمل آن خواهی بود. | ۱۲ |
13 The foolish woman is loud, undisciplined, and knows nothing.
| زن احمق یاوه‌گو است، جاهل است و هیچ نمی داند، | ۱۳ |
14 She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
| و نزد در خانه خود می‌نشیند، درمکانهای بلند شهر بر کرسی، | ۱۴ |
15 to call to those who pass by, who go straight on their ways,
| تا راه روندگان رابخواند، و آنانی را که به راههای خود براستی می‌روند. | ۱۵ |
16 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here.” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
| هر‌که جاهل باشد به اینجا برگردد، وبه ناقص العقل می‌گوید: | ۱۶ |
17 “Stolen water is sweet. Food eaten in secret is pleasant.”
| «آبهای دزدیده شده شیرین است، و نان خفیه لذیذ می‌باشد.» | ۱۷ |
