Proverbs 9
1 Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars.
ജ്ഞാനം അവൾക്കുവേണ്ടി വീട് പണിതു; ചെത്തിമിനുക്കിയ ഏഴു സ്തംഭങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.
2 She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table.
അവൾ മാംസഭക്ഷണം പാകംചെയ്തു വീഞ്ഞ് തയ്യാറാക്കി; അവളുടെ തീന്മേശയും ഒരുക്കിവെച്ചു.
3 She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city:
അവൾ തന്റെ തോഴിമാരെ നിയോഗിച്ചു, നഗരത്തിന്റെ ഉന്നതസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ വിളംബരം ചെയ്യുന്നതിനുവേണ്ടി,
4 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
“ലളിതമാനസരേ, എന്റെ ഭവനത്തിലേക്കു വരിക!” ബുദ്ധിഹീനരോട് അവൾ അറിയിക്കുന്നു,
5 “Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed!
“വരിക, എന്റെ ഭക്ഷണം ആസ്വദിക്കുക, ഞാൻ കലർത്തിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വീഞ്ഞ് പാനംചെയ്യുക.
6 Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.”
നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭോഷത്തം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് ജീവിക്കുക; വിവേകപൂർണമായ മാർഗത്തിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കുക.”
7 One who corrects a mocker invites insult. One who reproves a wicked man invites abuse.
പരിഹാസിയെ തിരുത്തുന്നവർക്ക് അധിക്ഷേപം പകരമായിലഭിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടരെ ശകാരിക്കുന്നവർ അവഹേളനപാത്രമാകും.
8 Do not reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise person, and he will love you.
പരിഹാസികളെ ശാസിക്കരുത്, അവർ നിന്നെ വെറുക്കും; ജ്ഞാനികളെ ശാസിക്കുക, അവർ നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കും.
9 Instruct a wise person, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous person, and he will increase in learning.
ജ്ഞാനികളെ ഉപദേശിക്കുക, അവർ അധികം ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവരായിത്തീരും; നീതിനിഷ്ഠരെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കുക, അവർ വിദ്യാഭിവൃത്തി പ്രാപിക്കും.
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
യഹോവാഭക്തി ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ ഉറവിടമാകുന്നു, പരിശുദ്ധനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനം വിവേകമാകുന്നു.
11 For by me your days will be multiplied. The years of your life will be increased.
ജ്ഞാനംമൂലം നിന്റെ ദിനങ്ങൾ നിരവധിയായിരിക്കും, നിനക്കു ദീർഘായുസ്സുണ്ടാകുകയും ചെയ്യും.
12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it.
നീ ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള വ്യക്തിയെങ്കിൽ, നിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലംനൽകും; നീ പരിഹാസിയാണെങ്കിൽ, അതിന്റെ അനന്തരഫലം നീമാത്രം അനുഭവിക്കും.
13 The foolish woman is loud, undisciplined, and knows nothing.
ഭോഷത്തം അടക്കമില്ലാത്ത ഒരു സ്ത്രീയാണ്; അവൾ ഭോഷയും വിവരംകെട്ടവളുമാണ്.
14 She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
അവൾ തന്റെ ഗൃഹകവാടത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു, നഗരത്തിലെ ഉന്നതസ്ഥാനത്തുള്ള ഒരു പീഠത്തിൽത്തന്നെ,
15 to call to those who pass by, who go straight on their ways,
സ്വന്തംകാര്യം അന്വേഷിച്ചു പോകുന്ന പുരുഷന്മാരോട്, അവൾ വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നു,
16 “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here.” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
“ലളിതമാനസരേ, എന്നോടൊപ്പം വരിക!” വിവേകരഹിതരോടവൾ ചൊല്ലുന്നു,
17 “Stolen water is sweet. Food eaten in secret is pleasant.”
“അപഹരിക്കപ്പെട്ട ജലം മധുരതരം; ഒളിവിൽ ഭുജിക്കുന്ന ഭക്ഷണം അതിരുചികരം!”
