Proverbs 31
1 The words of King Lemuel—the revelation which his mother taught him:
Las palabras de Lemuel, rey de Massa: la enseñanza que recibió de su madre.
2 “Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
¿Qué voy a decirte, oh Lemuel, mi hijo mayor? y qué, oh hijo de mi cuerpo? y qué, oh hijo de mis juramentos?
3 Do not give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
No des tu fuerza a las mujeres, ni tus caminos a lo que es la destrucción de los reyes.
4 It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’
No es para reyes, oh Lemuel, no es para reyes tomar el vino, ni para los gobernantes decir: ¿Dónde está la bebida fuerte?
5 lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.
Por temor que bebiendo vengan a no tener respeto por la ley, juzgando injustamente la causa de los que están en problemas.
6 Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to the bitter in soul.
Den vino al que está cerca de la destrucción, y al que tiene amargura el alma;
7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
Beban, y su necesidad se apartará de su mente, y el recuerdo de su tribulación desaparecerá.
8 Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate.
Deja que tu boca se abra para aquellos que no tienen voz, en la causa de aquellos que están listos para la muerte.
9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy.”
Deja que tu boca se abra, juzgue con razón, y tome decisiones correctas en la causa de los pobres y los necesitados.
10 Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies.
¿Quién puede descubrir a una mujer virtuosa? Por su precio es mucho más alto que las joyas.
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain.
El corazón de su marido tiene fe en ella, y él tendrá provecho en toda su medida.
12 She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
Ella le hace bien y no mal todos los días de su vida.
13 She seeks wool and flax, and works eagerly with her hands.
Ella obtiene lana y lino, trabajando en el negocio de sus manos.
14 She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.
Ella es como las naves mercantes, obteniendo comida de muy lejos.
15 She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and portions for her servant girls.
Se levanta cuando aún es de noche, y da carne a su familia, y su comida a sus siervas.
16 She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.
Después de mirar un campo con cuidado, lo consigue por un precio, plantando un jardín de vid con el beneficio de su trabajo.
17 She arms her waist with strength, and makes her arms strong.
Ella pone una banda de fuerza a su alrededor, y hace que sus brazos sean fuertes.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out by night.
Ella ve que su mercadeo es beneficioso para ella: su luz no se apaga durante la noche.
19 She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
Ella pone sus manos en la varilla de trabajo de tela, y sus dedos toman el volante.
20 She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.
Sus manos están extendidas a los pobres; sí, ella es generosa con quienes lo necesitan.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household, for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
Ella no tiene miedo de la nieve por su familia, porque todos los que están en su casa están vestidos de ropas dobles.
22 She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Ella se hace cojines de costura; su ropa es blanca y lila.
23 Her husband is respected in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.
Su marido es un hombre notable en el lugar público, cuando toma su asiento entre los hombres responsables de la tierra.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.
Ella hace túnicas de lino y les da un precio, y los comerciantes toman sus vendas de tela por un precio.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.
La fuerza y el respeto a sí mismos son su vestimenta; ella está enfrentando el futuro con una sonrisa.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom. Kind instruction is on her tongue.
Su boca está abierta para dar sabiduría, y la ley de misericordia está en su lengua.
27 She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Ella le presta atención a las costumbres de su familia, no toma su comida sin trabajar por ella.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:
Sus hijos se levantan y le dan honor, y su marido la alaba, diciendo:
29 “Many women do noble things, but you excel them all.”
Mujeres innumerables han hecho bien, pero tú eres mejor que todas ellas.
30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
Las miradas hermosas son un engaño, y una hermosa forma no tiene valor; pero una mujer que tiene temor del Señor debe ser alabada.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands! Let her works praise her in the gates!
Dale crédito por lo que han hecho sus manos: déjala ser alabada por sus obras en el lugar público.
