< Proverbs 24 >

1 Do not be envious of evil men, neither desire to be with them;
Nimet sok sin mwet koluk, ac nimet oru kom in kawuk selos.
2 for their hearts plot violence and their lips talk about mischief.
Pacl nukewa elos pwapa sulal, ac sramsram lalos mwe na purakak lokoalok.
3 Through wisdom a house is built; by understanding it is established;
Lohm uh musaiyuk fin pwelung lun lalmwetmet ac etauk.
4 by knowledge the rooms are filled with all rare and beautiful treasure.
Acn ma oasr etauk we, infukil uh yunla ke ma saok ac oaskulana.
5 A wise man has great power. A knowledgeable man increases strength,
Wo in lalmwetmet liki na in ku; aok, yohk sripa in etauk liki in fokoko.
6 for by wise guidance you wage your war, and victory is in many advisors.
Kom enenu na in akola akwoya meet liki kom srola ke sie mweun, ac kom fin eis kas in kasru wo puspis na kom ac fah ku in kutangla.
7 Wisdom is too high for a fool. He does not open his mouth in the gate.
Kas lalmwetmet uh arulana loalla nu sin sie mwet lalfon in kalem kac. Wangin ma el ac ku in fahk ke pacl ac srumunyuk ma yohk sripa uh.
8 One who plots to do evil will be called a schemer.
Kom fin orek pwapa koluk pacl nukewa, ac fah eteyuk kom lah kom sie mwet orek lokoalok.
9 The schemes of folly are sin. The mocker is detested by men.
Ma nukewa sie mwet lalfon ac nunkauk in oru uh ac ma na koluk. Mwet uh srunga mwet se ma kwacna aklusrongtenye mwet.
10 If you falter in the time of trouble, your strength is small.
Kom fin munasla ke pacl kom sun ma upa, kalmac pa ku lom uh srikla.
11 Rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter!
Nimet alolo in molela sie mwet su akola in anwuki ke sripen nununku sesuwos.
12 If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does not he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?
Sahp kom ac fahk mu kom nikin, a God El etekom ac nunak lom. El ac fah moli nu sum fal nu ke ma kom orala.
13 My son, eat honey, for it is good, the droppings of the honeycomb, which are sweet to your taste;
Tulik nutik, kom in mongo honey, mweyen arulana wo. Oana ke honey emwem in oalum,
14 so you shall know wisdom to be to your soul. If you have found it, then there will be a reward: Your hope will not be cut off.
ouinge lalmwetmet uh wo nu ke ngunum. Kom fin eis lalmwetmet, na moul lom in pacl fahsru ac fah wo.
15 Do not lay in wait, wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous. Do not destroy his resting place;
Nimet oana sie mwet koluk su pwapa sulal in pisrala ma lun sie mwet suwohs, ku in eisla lohm sel.
16 for a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again, but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.
Finne pus pacl sie mwet suwohs el ikori, el ac sifil tuyak, a mwe ongoiya uh kunausla mwet koluk.
17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls. Do not let your heart be glad when he is overthrown,
Nimet engan ke pacl mwet lokoalok lom sun ongoiya uh, ac nimet enganak ke pacl el tukulkul.
18 lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
LEUM GOD El ac etu lah kom engankin, ac El ac tia lungse; fin ouinge, sahp El ac tia sang kai nu sel.
19 Do not fret yourself because of evildoers, neither be envious of the wicked;
Nimet lela mwet koluk in akfosrngaye kom; ac nimet sok selos,
20 for there will be no reward to the evil man. The lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.
mweyen wangin finsrak lun sie mwet koluk nu ke pacl fahsru. Wangin ma el akwot nu kac.
21 My son, fear the LORD and the king. Do not join those who are rebellious,
Tulik nutik, kom in akfulatye LEUM GOD ac sunakin tokosra. Nimet asruoki nu sin mwet su lainulos.
22 for their calamity will rise suddenly. Who knows what destruction may come from them both?
Mwet ouinge uh ac sa na in kunausyukla. Ya kom akilen luman ongoiya ma ku in tuku sin God me ac sin tokosra me?
23 These also are sayings of the wise: To show partiality in judgment is not good.
Mwet lalmwetmet uh oayapa fahk ma inge: Tia wo sie mwet nununku in wiwimwet.
24 He who says to the wicked, “You are righteous,” peoples will curse him, and nations will abhor him—
El fin sang mwata nu fin mwet se ma suwohs, mwet nukewa ac srungal ac selngawel.
25 but it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and a rich blessing will come on them.
A kutena mwet nununku su kai mwet oasr mwata, elos fah kapkapak ac mwet uh ac kaksakunulos.
26 An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
El su kawuk na pwaye lom el ac topuk kom ke kas pwaye.
27 Prepare your work outside, and get your fields ready. Afterwards, build your house.
Akola ima lom ac yukwiya ma kom ac moul kac, na kom fah musai lohm sum ac sou lom.
28 Do not be a witness against your neighbor without cause. Do not deceive with your lips.
Nimet orek loh lain sie mwet fin wangin mwatal. Nimet fahk kutena ma sutuu kacl.
29 Do not say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will repay the man according to his work.”
Nimet fahk mu, “Nga ac oru nu sel in oana ke el tuh oru nu sik! Nga ac folokunang pacna ma el oru nu sik!”
30 I went by the field of the sluggard, by the vineyard of the man void of understanding.
Nga fahsr sasla ke ima in grape lun sie mwet alsrangesr ac lalfon.
31 Behold, it was all grown over with thorns. Its surface was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down.
Kupoi ke kokul ac mah kap wel, ac pot ma kuhlasak uh mokukla.
32 Then I saw, and considered well. I saw, and received instruction:
Nga liye ma inge ac nunku kac, na pa inge mwe luti nga eis kac:
33 a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep,
Farpoeni ac mongla kutu srisrik, eis pacl in motul lom,
34 so your poverty will come as a robber and your want as an armed man.
tusruktu ke kom srakna motul, sukasrup ac fah tuku nu fom oana sie mwet pisrapasr su us mwe anwuk inpaol.
