Nehemiah 11

1 The princes of the people lived in Jerusalem. The rest of the people also cast lots to bring one of ten to dwell in Jerusalem, the holy city, and nine parts in the other cities.

লোকেদের কর্মকর্তারা জেরুশালেমে বাস করতেন। বাকি লোকেরা গুটিকাপাত করল যেন তাদের মধ্যে প্রতি দশজনের একজন পবিত্র নগর জেরুশালেমে বাস করতে পারে আর বাকি নয়জন তাদের নিজেদের নগরে থাকবে।

2 The people blessed all the men who willingly offered themselves to dwell in Jerusalem.

যে সকল লোক ইচ্ছা করে জেরুশালেমে বাস করতে চাইল লোকেরা তাদের প্রশংসা করল।

3 Now these are the chiefs of the province who lived in Jerusalem; but in the cities of Judah, everyone lived in his possession in their cities—Israel, the priests, the Levites, the temple servants, and the children of Solomon’s servants.

প্রদেশের এসব প্রধান লোক জেরুশালেমে বসতি করল (কিন্তু যিহূদা দেশের বিভিন্ন নগরে কিছু ইস্রায়েলী, যাজকেরা, লেবীয়েরা, উপাসনা গৃহের সেবাকারীরা ও শলোমনের দাসদের বংশধরেরা নিজের নিজের জমিতে বাস করত,

4 Some of the children of Judah and of the children of Benjamin lived in Jerusalem. Of the children of Judah: Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel, of the children of Perez;

এছাড়া যিহূদা ও বিন্যামীন গোষ্ঠীর কিছু লোক জেরুশালেমে বাস করত): যিহূদা বংশধরদের মধ্য থেকে: উষিয়ের ছেলে অথায়, সেই উষিয় সখরিয়ের ছেলে, সখরিয় অমরিয়ের ছেলে অমরিয় শফটিয়ের ছেলে, শফটিয় মহললেলের ছেলে, সে পেরসের বংশধরদের মধ্যে একজন।

5 and Maaseiah the son of Baruch, the son of Colhozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of the Shilonite.

আর বারূকের ছেলে মাসেয়, সেই বারূক কল্‌হোষির ছেলে, কল্‌হোষি হসায়ের ছেলে, হসায় অদায়ার ছেলে, অদায়া যোয়ারীবের ছেলে, যোয়াবীর সখরিয়ের ছেলে, সখরিয় শীলোনীয়ের বংশধরদের মধ্যে একজন।

6 All the sons of Perez who lived in Jerusalem were four hundred sixty-eight valiant men.

পেরসের বংশের মোট 468 শক্তিশালী লোক জেরুশালেমে বাস করত।

7 These are the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah.

বিন্যামীনের বংশধরদের মধ্য থেকে: মশুল্লমের ছেলে সল্লু, সেই মশুল্লম যোয়েদের ছেলে, যোয়েদ পদায়ের ছেলে, পদায় কোলায়ার ছেলে, কোলায়া মাসেয়ের ছেলে, মাসেয় ঈথীয়েলের ছেলে, ঈথীয়েল যিশায়াহের ছেলে,

8 After him Gabbai and Sallai, nine hundred twenty-eight.

এবং তার অনুগামীরা, গব্বয় ও সল্লয় ছিল 928 জন।

9 Joel the son of Zichri was their overseer; and Judah the son of Hassenuah was second over the city.

সিখ্রির ছেলে যোয়েল তাদের প্রধান কর্মচারী ছিল, এবং হস্‌সনূয়ার ছেলে যিহূদা নগরের দ্বিতীয় কর্তা ছিল।

10 Of the priests: Jedaiah the son of Joiarib, Jachin,

যাজকদের মধ্যে: যোয়ারীবের ছেলে যিদয়িয়, যাখীন;

11 Seraiah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of God’s house,

হিল্কিয়ের ছেলে সরায়, সেই হিল্কিয় মশুল্লমের ছেলে, মশুল্লম সাদোকের ছেলে, সাদোক মরায়োতের ছেলে, মরায়োৎ অহীটূবের ছেলে, অহীটূব ঈশ্বরের গৃহের দায়িত্বে থাকা কর্মকর্তা

12 and their brothers who did the work of the house, eight hundred twenty-two; and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah,

13 and his brothers, chiefs of fathers’ households, two hundred forty-two; and Amashsai the son of Azarel, the son of Ahzai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer,

এবং তার সহকর্মীরা, যারা পরিবারের কর্তা তারা ছিল 242 জন; অসরেলের ছেলে অমশয়, সেই অসরেল অহসয়ের ছেলে, অহসয় মশিল্লেমোতের ছেলে, মশিল্লেমোৎ ইম্মেরের ছেলে,

14 and their brothers, mighty men of valor, one hundred twenty-eight; and their overseer was Zabdiel, the son of Haggedolim.

এবং তার সহকর্মীরা, যারা শক্তিশালী লোক ছিল 128 জন। হগ্‌গদোলীমের ছেলে সব্দীয়েল ছিল তাদের প্রধান কর্মচারী।

15 Of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni;

লেবীয়দের মধ্যে: হশূবের ছেলে শময়িয়, সেই হশূব অস্রীকামের ছেলে, অস্রীকাম হশবিয়ের ছেলে, হশবিয় বুন্নির ছেলে;

16 and Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the chiefs of the Levites, who had the oversight of the outward business of God’s house;

লেবীয়দের মধ্যে দুজন প্রধান, শব্বথয় ও যোষাবাদ, ঈশ্বরের গৃহের বাইরের কাজকর্মের দায়িত্বে ছিল;

17 and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, who was the chief to begin the thanksgiving in prayer, and Bakbukiah, the second among his brothers; and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.

মত্তনিয়ের ছেলে মীখা, মীখা সব্দির ছেলে, আসফের ছেলে সব্দি, যে ধন্যবাদ ও প্রার্থনা পরিচালনার কাজে প্রধান ছিল; তার সহকর্মীদের মধ্যে বক্‌বুকিয় ছিল দ্বিতীয়; এবং শম্মুয়ের ছেলে অব্দ, শম্মূয় গাললের ছেলে, গাললে যিদূথূনের ছেলে।

18 All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred eighty-four.

পবিত্র নগরে লেবীয়দের মোট সংখ্যা ছিল 284।

19 Moreover the gatekeepers, Akkub, Talmon, and their brothers, who kept watch at the gates, were one hundred seventy-two.

দ্বার রক্ষকদের মধ্যে: অক্কূব, টল্‌মোন ও তাদের সঙ্গীরা, যারা দ্বারগুলি পাহারা দিত তারা ছিল 172 জন।

20 The residue of Israel, of the priests, and the Levites were in all the cities of Judah, everyone in his inheritance.

ইস্রায়েলীদের বাকি লোকেরা, যাজকেরা ও লেবীয়েরা যিহূদার সমস্ত নগরের মধ্যে প্রত্যেকে যে যার পূর্বপুরুষের জায়গাজমিতে বাস করত।

21 But the temple servants lived in Ophel; and Ziha and Gishpa were over the temple servants.

উপাসনা গৃহের সেবাকারীরা ওফল পাহাড়ে বাস করত, এবং সীহ ও গীষ্প তাদের উপর দায়িত্বে ছিল।

22 The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Mica, of the sons of Asaph, the singers responsible for the service of God’s house.

বানির ছেলে উষি ছিল জেরুশালেমে লেবীয়দের প্রধান কর্মচারী, সেই বানি হশবিয়ের ছেলে, হশবিয় মত্তনিয়ের ছেলে, মত্তনিয় মীখার ছেলে। উষি ছিল আসফবংশজাত একজন, যারা ঈশ্বরের গৃহে উপাসনায় গায়ক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করত।

23 For there was a commandment from the king concerning them, and a settled provision for the singers, as every day required.

গায়কেরা রাজার আদেশের অধীনে ছিল, সেই আদেশের দ্বারাই তাদের প্রতিদিনের কাজ ঠিক করা হত।

24 Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, was at the king’s hand in all matters concerning the people.

মশেষবেলের ছেলে পথাহিয়, যিহূদার ছেলে সেরহের একজন বংশজাত, সে লোকদের সমস্ত বিষয়ে রাজার অধীনে নিযুক্ত ছিল।

25 As for the villages with their fields, some of the children of Judah lived in Kiriath Arba and its towns, in Dibon and its towns, in Jekabzeel and its villages,

আর সব গ্রাম ও সেগুলির খেতখামারগুলির বিষয়; যিহূদা গোষ্ঠীর লোকেরা কেউ কেউ কিরিয়ৎ-অর্ব্বে ও তার উপনগরগুলিতে, দীবোনে ও তার উপনগরগুলিতে, যিকব্‌সেলে ও তার গ্রামগুলিতে,

26 in Jeshua, in Moladah, Beth Pelet,

যেশূয়েতে, মোলাদাতে, বেথ-পেলট,

27 in Hazar Shual, in Beersheba and its towns,

হৎসর-শূয়ালে, বের-শেবাতে ও তার উপনগরগুলিতে,

28 in Ziklag, in Meconah and in its towns,

সিক্লগে, মকোনাতে ও তার উপনগরগুলিতে,

29 in En Rimmon, in Zorah, in Jarmuth,

ঐন-রিম্মোণে, সরায়, যর্মূতে

30 Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages, Lachish and its fields, and Azekah and its towns. So they encamped from Beersheba to the valley of Hinnom.

সানোহে, অদুল্লমে ও তার গ্রামগুলিতে, লাখীশে ও তার ক্ষেত্রে, এবং অসেকাতে ও তার উপনগরগুলিতে বাস করত। বস্তুত তারা বের-শেবা থেকে হিন্নোম উপত্যকা পর্যন্ত বাস করত।

31 The children of Benjamin also lived from Geba onward, at Michmash and Aija, and at Bethel and its towns,

বিন্যামীনের বংশধরেরা গেবা থেকে মিক্‌মসে, অয়াতে, বেথেলে ও তার উপনগরগুলিতে,

32 at Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,

অনাথোতে, নোবে, অননিয়াতে,

33 Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim,

হাৎসারে, রামাতে, গিত্তয়িমে,

34 Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,

হাদীদে, সবোয়িমে ও নবল্লাটে,

35 Lod, and Ono, the valley of craftsmen.

লোদে ও ওনোতে, এবং শিল্পকরদের উপত্যকাতে বাস করত।

36 Of the Levites, certain divisions in Judah settled in Benjamin’s territory.

যিহূদার লেবীয়দের কিছু দল বিন্যামীনের এলাকায় গিয়ে বাস করতে লাগল।
