Nahum 3
1 Woe to the bloody city! It is all full of lies and robbery—no end to the prey.
രക്തച്ചൊരിച്ചിലുകളുടെ പട്ടണത്തിന് അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! കള്ളവും കവർച്ചയും അതിൽ നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു, പീഡിതർ അവിടെ ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കുകയില്ല!
2 The noise of the whip, the noise of the rattling of wheels, prancing horses, and bounding chariots,
ചമ്മട്ടിയുടെ പ്രഹരശബ്ദം, ചക്രങ്ങൾ ഉരുളുന്ന ശബ്ദം, ഓടുന്ന കുതിരകൾ, കുതിക്കുന്ന രഥങ്ങൾ!
3 the horseman charging, and the flashing sword, the glittering spear, and a multitude of slain, and a great heap of corpses, and there is no end of the bodies. They stumble on their bodies
മുന്നേറുന്ന കുതിരപ്പട, മിന്നുന്ന വാളുകൾ, വെട്ടിത്തിളങ്ങുന്ന കുന്തങ്ങൾ, അനേകം അത്യാഹിതങ്ങൾ, അനവധി ശവക്കൂമ്പാരങ്ങൾ, അസംഖ്യം ശവശരീരങ്ങൾ, ജനം ശവങ്ങളിൽ തട്ടിവീഴുന്നു—
4 because of the multitude of the prostitution of the alluring prostitute, the mistress of witchcraft, who sells nations through her prostitution, and families through her witchcraft.
ഇതെല്ലാം സംഭവിച്ചത് ഒരു വേശ്യയുടെ അമിതാവേശംകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ; അവൾ വശീകരണവും ക്ഷുദ്രനൈപുണ്യവുമുള്ളവൾ! വ്യഭിചാരത്താൽ രാജ്യങ്ങളെയും ദുർമന്ത്രവാദത്താൽ ജനതകളെയും കീഴ്പ്പെടുത്തിയവൾതന്നെ.
5 “Behold, I am against you,” says the LORD of Armies, “and I will lift your skirts over your face. I will show the nations your nakedness, and the kingdoms your shame.
“ഞാൻ നിനക്ക് എതിരാണ്,” സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. “ഞാൻ നിന്റെ വസ്ത്രം മുഖത്തോളം ഉയർത്തും. ഞാൻ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളെ നിന്റെ നഗ്നതയും രാജ്യങ്ങളെ നിന്റെ ഗുഹ്യഭാഗവും കാണിക്കും.
6 I will throw abominable filth on you and make you vile, and will make you a spectacle.
ഞാൻ നിന്റെമേൽ അമേധ്യം എറിഞ്ഞ്, നിന്ദയോടെ നിന്നോട് ഇടപെട്ട്, നിന്നെ ഒരു കാഴ്ചവസ്തുവാക്കും.
7 It will happen that all those who look at you will flee from you, and say, ‘Nineveh is laid waste! Who will mourn for her?’ Where will I seek comforters for you?”
നിന്നെ കാണുന്നവരൊക്കെയും നിന്നിൽനിന്ന് അകന്നുമാറും. ‘നിനവേ ജീർണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, അവൾക്കുവേണ്ടി ആർ വിലപിക്കും?’ എന്ന് അവർ പറയും. നിന്നെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ എവിടെനിന്ന് ആശ്വാസകരെ കണ്ടെത്തും?”
8 Are you better than No-Amon, who was situated among the rivers, who had the waters around her, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was of the sea?
നൈൽനദീതീരത്ത് വെള്ളത്താൽ ചുറ്റപ്പെട്ടുകിടക്കുന്ന നോ-അമ്മോനെക്കാൾ നീ ഉത്തമയോ? നദി അവൾക്കു പ്രതിരോധവും വെള്ളം മതിലും ആയിരുന്നു.
9 Cush and Egypt were her boundless strength. Put and Libya were her helpers.
കൂശും ഈജിപ്റ്റും അവളുടെ അന്തമില്ലാത്ത ബലവും പൂത്യരും ലൂബ്യരും അവളോടു സഖ്യമുള്ളവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലും ആയിരുന്നു.
10 Yet was she carried away. She went into captivity. Her young children also were dashed in pieces at the head of all the streets, and they cast lots for her honorable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
എങ്കിലും അവൾ തടവിലായി, നാടുകടത്തപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു. സകലചത്വരങ്ങളിലുംവെച്ച് അവളുടെ ശിശുക്കൾ എറിഞ്ഞുകൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടു. അവളുടെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർക്കുവേണ്ടി നറുക്കിട്ടു എല്ലാ മഹാന്മാരും ചങ്ങലയാൽ ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.
11 You also will be drunken. You will be hidden. You also will seek a stronghold because of the enemy.
നീയും ലഹരിയാൽ മത്തുപിടിക്കും; ശത്രുനിമിത്തം നീ ഒളിവിൽപ്പോയി ഒരു സുരക്ഷിതസ്ഥാനം അന്വേഷിക്കും.
12 All your fortresses will be like fig trees with the first-ripe figs. If they are shaken, they fall into the mouth of the eater.
നിന്റെ കോട്ടകളെല്ലാം വിളഞ്ഞ ആദ്യഫലമുള്ള അത്തിവൃക്ഷത്തിനു തുല്യം; അവ കുലുക്കിയാൽ തിന്നുന്നവരുടെ വായിൽത്തന്നെ അത്തിക്കായ്കൾ വീഴും.
13 Behold, your troops among you are women. The gates of your land are set wide open to your enemies. The fire has devoured your bars.
നിന്റെ സൈന്യങ്ങളെ നോക്കൂ അവരെല്ലാം അശക്തർതന്നെ! നിന്റെ ദേശത്തിലെ കവാടങ്ങൾ ശത്രുക്കൾക്കായി മലർക്കെ തുറക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അഗ്നി അതിന്റെ ഓടാമ്പലുകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കന്നു.
14 Draw water for the siege. Strengthen your fortresses. Go into the clay, and tread the mortar. Make the brick kiln strong.
ഉപരോധത്തിനായി വെള്ളം ശേഖരിക്ക നിന്റെ പ്രതിരോധം ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുക! ചെളിയിൽ അധ്വാനിച്ച് ചാന്തു കുഴച്ച് ഇഷ്ടികക്കെട്ടിന്റെ കേടുതീർക്കുക!
15 There the fire will devour you. The sword will cut you off. It will devour you like the grasshopper. Multiply like grasshoppers. Multiply like the locust.
അവിടെ അഗ്നി നിന്നെ വിഴുങ്ങും; വാൾ നിന്നെ അരിഞ്ഞുവീഴ്ത്തും വിട്ടിലിനെ എന്നപോലെ നിന്നെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയും. നീ വിട്ടിലിനെപ്പോലെ പെരുകി, വെട്ടുക്കിളിയെപ്പോലെ വർധിക്കുക.
16 You have increased your merchants more than the stars of the skies. The grasshopper strips and flees away.
നിന്റെ വ്യാപാരികളുടെ എണ്ണം നീ ആകാശത്തിലെ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെക്കാൾ അധികം വർധിപ്പിച്ചു, എന്നാൽ അവർ വെട്ടുക്കിളി എന്നപോലെ ദേശത്തെ നശിപ്പിച്ച് പറന്നുപോകുന്നു.
17 Your guards are like the locusts, and your officials like the swarms of locusts, which settle on the walls on a cold day, but when the sun appears, they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
നിന്റെ കാവൽക്കാർ വെട്ടുക്കിളികളെപ്പോലെയും നിന്റെ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ ശൈത്യദിനത്തിൽ മതിലുകളിൽ പറ്റിപ്പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വെട്ടുക്കിളിക്കൂട്ടം പോലെയുമാകുന്നു. എന്നാൽ, സൂര്യൻ ഉദിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവ പറന്നുപോകുന്നു, എവിടേക്കെന്ന് ആരും അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.
18 Your shepherds slumber, king of Assyria. Your nobles lie down. Your people are scattered on the mountains, and there is no one to gather them.
അല്ലയോ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവേ, നിന്റെ ഇടയന്മാർ മയങ്ങുന്നു; നിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ വിശ്രമത്തിനായി കിടക്കുന്നു. ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂട്ടുന്നതിന് ആരുമില്ലാതെ നിന്റെ ജനം പർവതങ്ങളിൽ ചിതറിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
19 There is no healing your wound, for your injury is fatal. All who hear the report of you clap their hands over you, for who has not felt your endless cruelty?
നിന്റെ മുറിവ് ഉണക്കാൻ ഒന്നിനാലും സാധ്യമല്ല; നിന്റെ മുറിവ് മാരകംതന്നെ. നിന്റെ വാർത്ത കേൾക്കുന്നവരെല്ലാം നിന്റെ പതനത്തിൽ കൈകൊട്ടുന്നു, നിന്റെ അന്തമില്ലാത്ത ദ്രോഹം ഏൽക്കാത്തവരായി ആരുണ്ട്?
