Matthew 28
1 Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
Le sabbat passé, à l'aube du premier jour de la semaine, Marie-Magdeleine et l'autre Marie vinrent pour regarder le sépulcre.
2 Behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from the sky and came and rolled away the stone from the door and sat on it.
Tout à coup il se fit un violent tremblement de terre: c'était un ange du Seigneur qui descendait du ciel; il s'approcha de la pierre, l'éloigna en la roulant et s'assit dessus.
3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.
Son aspect était foudroyant; ses vêtements blancs comme la neige.
4 For fear of him, the guards shook, and became like dead men.
Tremblants d'épouvante devant lui, les gardes étaient comme morts.
5 The angel answered the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified.
Mais l'ange s'adressant aux femmes leur dit: «Pour vous, soyez sans crainte; vous cherchez, je le sais, Jésus, le crucifié.
6 He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.
Il n'est pas ici, car, ainsi qu'il l'avait dit, il est ressuscité. Venez, regardez la place où il était couché;
7 Go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has risen from the dead, and behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there you will see him.’ Behold, I have told you.”
et allez vite dire à ses disciples qu'il est ressuscité des morts; il vous précède en Galilée; là vous le verrez; c'est moi qui vous le dis.»
8 They departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word.
Elles sortirent immédiatement du tombeau, tremblantes et, remplies de joie, et coururent porter la nouvelle à ses disciples.
9 As they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” They came and took hold of his feet, and worshiped him.
Et voilà que Jésus s'avança à leur rencontre et leur dit: «Salut!» Elles s'approchèrent, embrassèrent ses pieds, et l'adorèrent.
10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go tell my brothers that they should go into Galilee, and there they will see me.”
Alors Jésus leur dit: «Soyez sans crainte; allez dire de ma part à mes frères de partir pour la Galilée, là ils me verront.»
11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guards came into the city and told the chief priests all the things that had happened.
Quand elles se furent éloignées, quelques-uns des gardes vinrent à la ville et apprirent aux chefs des prêtres tout ce qui était arrivé.
12 When they were assembled with the elders and had taken counsel, they gave a large amount of silver to the soldiers,
Ceux-ci se réunirent avec les Anciens, et après en avoir conféré, ils donnèrent une grosse somme aux soldats avec cet ordre:
13 saying, “Say that his disciples came by night and stole him away while we slept.
«Vous direz que ses disciples sont venus pendant la nuit et qu'ils l'ont volé pendant que vous dormiez.
14 If this comes to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him and make you free of worry.”
Si le procurateur devait entendre parler de cette affaire, nous nous chargeons de le convaincre et nous vous mettrons à couvert.»
15 So they took the money and did as they were told. This saying was spread abroad among the Jews, and continues until today.
Les soldats prirent l'argent et agirent d'après ces instructions. Et le bruit qu'ils répandirent parmi les Juifs dure encore aujourd'hui.
16 But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had sent them.
Cependant les onze disciples se rendirent en Galilée, sur la montagne que Jésus leur avait désignée.
17 When they saw him, they bowed down to him; but some doubted.
Le voyant, ils l'adorèrent. Mais quelques-uns doutèrent.
18 Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.
Jésus alors s'approcha d'eux et leur parla; il leur dit: «A moi a été donnée toute puissance au ciel et sur terre;
19 Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
allez faire de toutes les nations mes disciples, les baptisant au nom du Père, et du Fils, et du saint Esprit
