Matthew 15
1 Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,
Entonces los fariseos y los escribas vinieron a Jesús desde Jerusalén, diciendo:
2 “Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”
“¿Por qué tus discípulos desobedecen la tradición de los ancianos? Porque no se lavan las manos cuando comen el pan”.
3 He answered them, “Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?
Él les respondió: “¿Por qué también vosotros desobedecéis el mandamiento de Dios por vuestra tradición?
4 For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
Porque Dios mandó: ‘Honra a tu padre y a tu madre,’ y ‘El que hable mal del padre o de la madre, que muera’.
5 But you say, ‘Whoever may tell his father or his mother, “Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,”
Pero vosotros decís: ‘El que diga a su padre o a su madre: “La ayuda que de otro modo hubieras recibido es un don dedicado a Dios”,
6 he shall not honor his father or mother.’ You have made the commandment of God void because of your tradition.
no honrará a su padre ni a su madre.’ Habéis anulado el mandamiento de Dios por vuestra tradición.
7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
¡Hipócritas! Bien profetizó Isaías sobre vosotros, diciendo,
8 ‘These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
‘Esta gente se acerca a mí con su boca, y me honran con sus labios; pero su corazón está lejos de mí.
9 And they worship me in vain, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.’”
Y me adoran en vano, enseñando como doctrina reglas hechas por los hombres”.
10 He summoned the multitude, and said to them, “Hear, and understand.
Convocó a la multitud y les dijo: “Oíd y entended.
11 That which enters into the mouth does not defile the man; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
Lo que entra en la boca no contamina al hombre; pero lo que sale de la boca, esto contamina al hombre.”
12 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
Entonces se acercaron los discípulos y le dijeron: “¿Sabes que los fariseos se ofendieron al oír esta frase?”
13 But he answered, “Every plant which my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted.
Pero él respondió: “Toda planta que mi Padre celestial no haya plantado será desarraigada.
14 Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
Déjenlos en paz. Son guías ciegos de los ciegos. Si los ciegos guían a los ciegos, ambos caerán en un pozo”.
15 Peter answered him, “Explain the parable to us.”
Pedro le respondió: “Explícanos la parábola”.
16 So Jesus said, “Do you also still not understand?
Entonces Jesús dijo: “¿Tampoco vosotros entendéis todavía?
17 Do not you understand that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the belly and then out of the body?
¿No entendéis que todo lo que entra en la boca pasa al vientre y luego sale del cuerpo?
18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the man.
Pero lo que sale de la boca, sale del corazón y contamina al hombre.
19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies.
Porque del corazón salen los malos pensamientos, los asesinatos, los adulterios, los pecados sexuales, los robos, los falsos testimonios y las blasfemias.
20 These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.”
Estas son las cosas que contaminan al hombre; pero comer con las manos sin lavar no contamina al hombre.”
21 Jesus went out from there and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.
Jesús salió de allí y se retiró a la región de Tiro y Sidón.
22 Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders and cried, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!”
He aquí que una mujer cananea salió de aquellos confines y clamó diciendo: “¡Ten piedad de mí, Señor, hijo de David! Mi hija está gravemente poseída por un demonio”.
23 But he answered her not a word. His disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away; for she cries after us.”
Pero él no le respondió ni una palabra. Sus discípulos se acercaron y le rogaron, diciendo: “Despídela, porque clama tras nosotros”.
24 But he answered, “I was not sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
Pero él respondió: “No he sido enviado sino a las ovejas perdidas de la casa de Israel”.
25 But she came and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, help me.”
Pero ella se acercó y le adoró diciendo: “Señor, ayúdame”.
26 But he answered, “It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
Pero él respondió: “No conviene tomar el pan de los niños y echarlo a los perros”.
27 But she said, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
Pero ella dijo: “Sí, Señor, pero hasta los perros comen las migajas que caen de la mesa de sus amos”.
28 Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.
Entonces Jesús le respondió: “Mujer, ¡qué grande es tu fe! Hágase en ti lo que deseas”. Y su hija quedó curada desde aquella hora.
29 Jesus departed from there and came near to the sea of Galilee; and he went up on the mountain and sat there.
Jesús salió de allí y se acercó al mar de Galilea; subió al monte y se sentó allí.
30 Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet. He healed them,
Acudieron a él grandes multitudes, llevando consigo cojos, ciegos, mudos, mutilados y muchos otros, y los pusieron a sus pies. Él los curó,
31 so that the multitude wondered when they saw the mute speaking, the injured healed, the lame walking, and the blind seeing—and they glorified the God of Israel.
de modo que la multitud se maravillaba al ver que los mudos hablaban, los heridos se curaban, los cojos caminaban y los ciegos veían, y glorificaban al Dios de Israel.
32 Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have continued with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away fasting, or they might faint on the way.”
Jesús llamó a sus discípulos y les dijo: “Tengo compasión de la multitud, porque ya llevan tres días conmigo y no tienen nada que comer. No quiero despedirlos en ayunas, o podrían desmayarse en el camino”.
33 The disciples said to him, “Where could we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a multitude?”
Los discípulos le dijeron: “¿De dónde podríamos sacar tantos panes en un lugar desierto como para satisfacer a una multitud tan grande?”
34 Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”
Jesús les dijo: “¿Cuántos panes tienen?” Dijeron: “Siete, y unos pocos peces pequeños”.
35 He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground;
Mandó a la multitud que se sentara en el suelo;
36 and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.
y tomó los siete panes y los peces. Dio gracias y los partió, y dio a los discípulos, y los discípulos a la multitud.
37 They all ate and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.
Todos comieron y se saciaron. Tomaron siete cestas llenas de los trozos que sobraron.
38 Those who ate were four thousand men, in addition to women and children.
Los que comieron fueron cuatro mil hombres, además de las mujeres y los niños.
39 Then he sent away the multitudes, got into the boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
Luego despidió a las multitudes, subió a la barca y llegó a los límites de Magdala.
