Luke 19
1 He entered and was passing through Jericho.
Y habiendo entrado Jesús, pasaba por Jericó.
2 There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.
Y, he aquí, un varón llamado Zaqueo el cual era príncipe de los publicanos, y era rico.
3 He was trying to see who Jesus was, and could not because of the crowd, because he was short.
Y procuraba ver a Jesús quién fuese; mas no podía a causa de la multitud, porque era pequeño de estatura.
4 He ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.
Y corriendo delante, se subió en un árbol sicomoro, para verle; porque había de pasar por allí.
5 When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
Y como vino a aquel lugar Jesús, mirando le vio, y le dijo: Zaqueo, dáte priesa, desciende; porque hoy es menester que pose en tu casa.
6 He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.
Entonces él descendió apriesa, y le recibió gozoso.
7 When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”
Y viendo esto todos, murmuraban, diciendo, que había entrado a posar con un hombre pecador.
8 Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”
Entonces Zaqueo, puesto en pie, dijo al Señor: He aquí, Señor, la mitad de mis bienes doy a los pobres; y si en algo he defraudado a alguno, se lo vuelvo con los cuatro tantos.
9 Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.
Y Jesús le dijo: Hoy ha venido la salvación a esta casa; por cuanto también él es hijo de Abraham.
10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Porque el Hijo del hombre vino a buscar, y a salvar lo que se había perdido.
11 As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that God’s Kingdom would be revealed immediately.
Y oyendo ellos estas cosas, prosiguiendo él, dijo una parábola, por cuanto estaba cerca de Jerusalem; y porque pensaban que luego había de ser manifestado el reino de Dios.
12 He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.
Dijo pues: Un hombre noble se partió a una tierra lejos, a tomar para sí un reino, y volver.
13 He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’
Y llamados diez siervos suyos, les dio diez minas, y les dijo: Negociád entre tanto que vengo.
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’
Empero sus ciudadanos le aborrecían; y enviaron tras de él una embajada, diciendo: No queremos que éste reine sobre nosotros.
15 “When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.
Y aconteció, que vuelto él, habiendo tomado el reino, mandó llamar a sí a aquellos siervos, a los cuales había dado el dinero, para saber lo que había negociado cada uno.
16 The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’
Y vino el primero, diciendo: Señor, tu mina ha ganado diez minas.
17 “He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’
Y él le dice: Está bien, buen siervo: pues que en lo poco has sido fiel, ten autoridad sobre diez ciudades.
18 “The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’
Y vino el segundo, diciendo: Señor, tu mina ha hecho cinco minas.
19 “So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’
Y asimismo a éste dijo: Tú también sé sobre cinco ciudades.
20 Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,
Y vino otro, diciendo: Señor, he aquí tu mina, la cual he tenido guardada en un pañizuelo.
21 for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you did not lay down, and reap that which you did not sow.’
Porque tuve miedo de ti, pues que eres hombre severo: tomas lo que no pusiste, y siegas lo que no sembraste.
22 “He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I did not lay down and reaping that which I did not sow.
Entonces él le dijo: Mal siervo, por tu boca te juzgo: sabías que yo era hombre severo, que tomo lo que no puse, y que siego lo que no sembré;
23 Then why did not you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’
¿Por qué pues no diste mi dinero al banco; y yo viniendo lo demandara con el logro?
24 He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to him who has the ten minas.’
Y dijo a los que estaban presentes: Quitádle la mina, y dád la al que tiene las diez minas.
25 “They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’
(Y ellos le dijeron: Señor, tiene diez minas.)
26 ‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who does not have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.
Porque yo os digo que a cualquiera que tuviere, le será dado; mas al que no tuviere, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.
27 But bring those enemies of mine who did not want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’”
Mas a aquellos mis enemigos, que no querían que yo reinase sobre ellos, traéd los acá, y degollád los delante de mí.
28 Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
Y dicho esto, iba delante subiendo a Jerusalem.
29 When he came near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,
Y aconteció, que llegando cerca de Betfage, y de Betania, al monte que se llama de las Olivas, envió dos de sus discípulos,
30 saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, which no man has ever sat upon. Untie it and bring it.
Diciendo: Id a la aldea que está delante, en la cual como entraréis, hallaréis un pollino atado en el cual ningún hombre jamás se ha sentado: desatádle, y traéd le acá.
31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’”
Y si alguien os preguntare: ¿Por qué le desatáis? le diréis así: Porque el Señor le ha menester.
32 Those who were sent went away and found things just as he had told them.
Y fueron los que habían sido enviados, y hallaron, como él les dijo.
33 As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
Y desatando ellos el pollino, sus dueños les dijeron: ¿Por qué desatáis el pollino?
34 They said, “The Lord needs it.”
Y ellos dijeron: Porque el Señor le ha menester.
35 Then they brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt and sat Jesus on them.
Y le trajeron a Jesús; y echando ellos sus ropas sobre el pollino, pusieron encima a Jesús.
36 As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road.
Y yendo él, tendían sus vestidos por el camino.
37 As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,
Y como llegasen ya cerca de la descendida del monte de las Olivas, toda la multitud de los discípulos, regocijándose, comenzaron a alabar a Dios a gran voz por todas las maravillas que habían visto,
38 saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”
Diciendo: Bendito el rey que viene en nombre del Señor: paz en el cielo, y gloria en las alturas.
39 Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”
Entonces algunos de los Fariseos de entre la multitud le dijeron: Maestro, reprende a tus discípulos.
40 He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”
Y él respondiendo, les dijo: Os digo que si estos callaren, las piedras clamarán.
41 When he came near, he saw the city and wept over it,
Y como llegó cerca, viendo la ciudad, lloró sobre ella,
42 saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.
Diciendo: ¡ Ah, si tú conocieses, a lo menos en este tu día, lo que toca a tu paz! mas ahora está encubierto a tus ojos.
43 For the days will come on you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,
Porque vendrán días sobre ti, que tus enemigos te cercarán con trinchera; y te pondrán cerco, y de todas partes te pondrán en estrecho;
44 and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”
Y te derribarán a tierra; y a tus hijos, los que están dentro de ti; y no dejarán en ti piedra sobre piedra; por cuanto no conociste el tiempo de tu visitación.
45 He entered into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,
Y entrando en el templo, comenzó a echar fuera a todos los que vendían y compraban en él,
46 saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!”
Diciéndoles: Escrito está: Mi casa, casa de oración es; mas vosotros la habéis hecho cueva de ladrones.
47 He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests, the scribes, and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him.
Y enseñaba cada día en el templo; mas los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y los príncipes del pueblo procuraban matarle.
48 They could not find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.
Y no hallaban que hacer le, porque todo el pueblo estaba suspenso oyéndole.
