John 19
1 So Pilate then took Jesus and flogged him.
| آنگاه به دستور پیلاتُس، عیسی را شلّاق زدند. |
2 The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown and put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple garment.
| سپس سربازان از خار تاجی ساختند و بر سر او گذاشتند و ردایی ارغوانی به او پوشاندند، |
3 They kept saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and they kept slapping him.
| و او را مسخره کرده، می‌گفتند: «زنده باد پادشاه یهود!» و به او سیلی می‌زدند. |
4 Then Pilate went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I bring him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”
| پیلاتُس باز بیرون رفت و به یهودیان گفت: «اینک او را نزد شما می‌آورم؛ ولی بدانید که او بی‌تقصیر است.» |
5 Jesus therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. Pilate said to them, “Behold, the man!”
| آنگاه عیسی با تاج خار و لباس بلند ارغوانی بیرون آمد. پیلاتُس به مردم گفت: «ببینید، این همان شخص است.» |
6 When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify!” Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him.”
| به محض اینکه چشم کاهنان اعظم و محافظین مخصوص معبد به عیسی افتاد، فریاد زدند: «مصلوبش کن! مصلوبش کن!» پیلاتُس گفت: «شما خودتان او را ببرید و مصلوب کنید. من که دلیلی برای محکوم کردن او نیافته‌ام.» |
7 The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.”
| سران یهود جواب دادند: «مطابق شریعت ما، او باید کشته شود، چون ادعا می‌کند که پسر خداست.» |
8 When therefore Pilate heard this saying, he was more afraid.
| وقتی پیلاتُس این را شنید بیشتر وحشت کرد. |
9 He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.
| پس دوباره عیسی را به داخل کاخ خود برد و از او پرسید: «تو اهل کجایی!» ولی عیسی به او جوابی نداد. |
10 Pilate therefore said to him, “Are not you speaking to me? Do not you know that I have power to release you and have power to crucify you?”
| پیلاتُس گفت: «چرا جواب نمی‌دهی؟ مگر متوجه نیستی که قدرت آن را دارم که آزادت سازم یا مصلوبت کنم؟» |
11 Jesus answered, “You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me to you has greater sin.”
| عیسی فرمود: «اگر خدا این قدرت را به تو نمی‌داد، با من هیچ کاری نمی‌توانستی بکنی. ولی گناه کسانی که مرا پیش تو آوردند، سنگینتر از گناه توست.» |
12 At this, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you release this man, you are not Caesar’s friend! Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar!”
| پیلاتُس خیلی تلاش کرد تا عیسی را آزاد سازد، ولی سران یهود به او گفتند: «این شخص یاغی است، چون ادعای پادشاهی می‌کند. پس اگر آزادش کنی، معلوم می‌شود مطیع قیصر نیستی.» |
13 When Pilate therefore heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called “The Pavement”, but in Hebrew, “Gabbatha.”
| با شنیدن این سخن، پیلاتُس عیسی را بیرون آورد و خود بر مسند داوری نشست، در مکانی که به «سنگفرش» معروف بود و به زبان عبرانیان «جَبّاتا» خوانده می‌شد. |
14 Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about the sixth hour. He said to the Jews, “Behold, your King!”
| آن روز، روز «آمادگی» برای عید پِسَح بود، و ظهر هم نزدیک می‌شد. پیلاتُس به یهودیان گفت: «این هم پادشاهتان!» |
15 They cried out, “Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!”
| مردم فریاد زدند: «نابودش کن، نابودش کن! مصلوبش کن!» پیلاتُس گفت: «می‌خواهید پادشاهتان را اعدام کنم؟» کاهنان اعظم فریاد زدند: «غیر از قیصر، پادشاه دیگری نداریم.» |
16 So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led him away.
| پس پیلاتُس عیسی را در اختیار ایشان گذاشت تا بُرده، مصلوبش کنند. سربازان عیسی را تحویل گرفتند |
17 He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called “The Place of a Skull”, which is called in Hebrew, “Golgotha”,
| و صلیب را بر دوشش گذاشته، او را از شهر بیرون بردند تا به محلی به نام جمجمه رسیدند که به زبان عبرانیان جُلجُتا خوانده می‌شود. |
18 where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Jesus in the middle.
| در آنجا او را با دو نفر دیگر، در دو طرف او مصلوب کردند، و عیسی در وسط آن دو قرار گرفت. |
19 Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. There was written, “JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
| پیلاتُس دستور داد در بالای صلیب او نوشته‌ای نصب کنند که روی آن نوشته شده بود: «عیسای ناصری، پادشاه یهود.» |
20 Therefore many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek.
| بسیاری از یهودیان آن نوشته را خواندند، زیرا مکانی که عیسی در آن مصلوب شده بود، نزدیک شهر بود، و این نوشته هم به زبانهای آرامی، لاتینی (یعنی رومی باستان) و یونانی بود. |
21 The chief priests of the Jews therefore said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘he said, “I am King of the Jews.”’”
| پس، سران کاهنان به پیلاتُس گفتند: «این نوشته را عوض کنید و به جای”پادشاه یهود“بنویسید:”او گفت که من پادشاه یهود هستم.“» |
22 Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”
| پیلاتُس جواب داد: «آنچه نوشتم، نوشتم.» |
23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
| وقتی سربازان عیسی را مصلوب کردند، لباسهای او را بین خود به چهار قسمت تقسیم نمودند؛ ولی وقتی به ردای او رسیدند، دیدند که یکپارچه بافته شده و درز ندارد. |
24 Then they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says, “They parted my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.” Therefore the soldiers did these things.
| پس به یکدیگر گفتند: «حیف است این را پاره کنیم. بنابراین قرعه می‌اندازیم تا ببینیم به که می‌رسد.» و این مطابق پیشگویی کتب مقدّس بود که می‌فرماید: «لباسهایم را میان خود تقسیم کردند و بر ردای من قرعه انداختند.» پس سربازان نیز چنین کردند. |
25 But standing by Jesus’ cross were his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
| در پای صلیب، مریم مادر عیسی، خالهٔ عیسی، مریم زن کلوپا و مریم مجدلیه ایستاده بودند. |
26 Therefore when Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”
| وقتی عیسی مادر خود را در کنار شاگردی که دوستش می‌داشت، دید، به مادر خود گفت: «این پسر تو باشد.» |
27 Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.
| و به آن شاگرد نیز فرمود: «او مادر تو باشد.» از آن روز به بعد، آن شاگرد مادر عیسی را به خانهٔ خود برد. |
28 After this, Jesus, seeing that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty!”
| عیسی می‌دانست که دیگر همه چیز تمام شده است. پس برای اینکه مطابق پیشگویی کتب مقدّس عمل کرده باشد، فرمود: «تشنه‌ام.» |
29 Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.
| در آنجا یک کوزۀ شراب ترشیده بود. پس اسفنجی در آن فرو کردند و بر سر نی گذاشتند و جلوی دهان او بردند. |
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
| وقتی عیسی چشید، فرمود: «تمام شد!» و سر خود را پایین انداخت و روح خود را تسلیم کرد. |
31 Therefore the Jews, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away.
| سران قوم یهود نمی‌خواستند جسدها فردای آن روز که شَبّات و روز اول عید بود، بالای دار بمانند. بنابراین، از پیلاتُس خواهش کردند که دستور بدهد ساق پاهای ایشان را بشکنند تا زودتر بمیرند و جسدشان را از بالای دار پایین بیاورند. |
32 Therefore the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with him;
| پس سربازان آمدند و ساق پاهای آن دو نفر را که همراه عیسی مصلوب شده بودند، شکستند. |
33 but when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs.
| ولی وقتی به عیسی رسیدند، دیدند که مرده است. پس ساقهای او را نشکستند. |
34 However, one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
| با این حال، یکی از سربازان نیزهٔ خود را به پهلوی عیسی فرو کرد، که بلافاصله خون و آب از آن خارج شد. |
35 He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.
| کسی که این وقایع را دید، بر آنها شهادت داده است، و شهادت او راست است. او می‌داند که حقیقت را می‌گوید، و به این منظور شهادت می‌دهد تا شما نیز ایمان بیاورید. |
36 For these things happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “A bone of him will not be broken.”
| این امور رخ داد تا نوشتۀ کتب مقدّس جامۀ عمل بپوشد که می‌فرماید: «هیچ‌یک از استخوانهای او شکسته نخواهد شد.» |
37 Again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they pierced.”
| و در بخشی دیگر نیز آمده که «به تماشای کسی خواهند نشست که به او نیزه زدند.» |
38 After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.
| ساعتی بعد، یکی از بزرگان یهود، به نام یوسف که اهل رامه بود و از ترس سران قوم، مخفیانه شاگرد عیسی شده بود، با بی‌باکی به حضور پیلاتُس رفت و اجازه خواست تا جسد عیسی را از بالای صلیب پایین بیاورد و به خاک بسپارد. پیلاتُس به او اجازه داد و او نیز پیکر عیسی را پایین آورد و با خود برد. |
39 Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred Roman pounds.
| به‌همراه او، نیقودیموس هم که یک شب نزد عیسی آمده بود، حدود سی کیلو مواد مُعَطّر که از مُر و چوب عود تهیه شده بود، برای مراسم تدفین آورد. |
40 So they took Jesus’ body, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.
| ایشان جسد عیسی را گرفتند و آن را به رسم تدفین یهود با عطریات در کفن پیچیدند. |
41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no man had ever yet been laid.
| در نزدیکی محل اعدام، باغ کوچکی بود و مقبره‌ای نو در آن قرار داشت که تا آن زمان، جسدی در آن گذاشته نشده بود. |
42 Then, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day (for the tomb was near at hand), they laid Jesus there.
| پس چون روز تدارک برای پِسَح یهود در پیش بود و قبر در همان نزدیکی قرار داشت، جسد عیسی را همان جا دفن کردند. |
