Jeremiah 42

1 Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even to the greatest, came near,

১তেতিয়া কাৰেহৰ পুতেক যোহানন, হোচয়াৰ পুতেক যাজনিয়া আদি ফৌজৰ সকলো সেনাপতি আৰু সৰুৰ পৰা বৰলৈকে সকলো প্ৰজাই যিৰিমিয়া ভাববাদীৰ ওচৰলৈ চাপি আহিল।

2 and said to Jeremiah the prophet, “Please let our supplication be presented before you, and pray for us to the LORD your God, even for all this remnant, for we are left but a few of many, as your eyes see us,

২তেওঁলোকে তেওঁক ক’লে, “তোমাৰ আগত আমাৰ নিবেদন গ্ৰাহ্য হওঁক আৰু তুমি তোমাৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ আগত আমাৰ বাবে, এই সকলো অৱশিষ্ট লোকৰ বাবেই প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰা, কিয়নো তুমি নিজ চকুৰে দেখিছা যে অধিক লোকৰ পৰা আমি অলপ মাথোন অৱশিষ্ট আছোঁ।

3 that the LORD your God may show us the way in which we should walk, and the things that we should do.”

৩আমি কোন বাটেদি যোৱা উচিত আৰু কি কাৰ্য কৰা উচিত ইয়াকে দেখুৱাবৰ অৰ্থে তোমাৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাক নিবেদন কৰা।”

4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, “I have heard you. Behold, I will pray to the LORD your God according to your words; and it will happen that whatever thing the LORD answers you, I will declare it to you. I will keep nothing back from you.”

৪তেতিয়া যিৰিমিয়া ভাববাদীয়ে তেওঁলোকক ক’লে, “মই তোমালোকৰ কথা শুনিলোঁ; চোৱা তোমালোকৰ বাক্য অনুসাৰে মই তোমালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ আগত প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰিম আৰু যিহোৱাই তোমালোকলৈ যি যি উত্তৰ দিব, তাৰ সকলো কথা তোমালোকক জনাম, তাৰ একোকে তোমালোকৰ পৰা গুপুতে নাৰাখিম।”

5 Then they said to Jeremiah, “May the LORD be a true and faithful witness among us, if we do not do according to all the word with which the LORD your God sends you to tell us.

৫তেতিয়া তেওঁলোকে যিৰিমিয়াক ক’লে, “তোমাৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই তোমাৰ দ্বাৰাই যি যি বাক্য আমালৈ কৈ পঠিয়াব, সেই সকলো বাক্য অনুসাৰে আমি যদি কাৰ্য নকৰোঁ, তেন্তে যিহোৱা আমাৰ বিৰুদ্ধে সত্য আৰু বিশ্বাসী সাক্ষী হওঁক।

6 Whether it is good, or whether it is bad, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.”

৬আমাৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য আমি পালন কৰিলে আমাৰ মঙ্গল কাৰণে, আমি যিজনৰ ওচৰলৈ তোমাক পঠিয়ালোঁ, আমাৰ ঈশ্বৰ সেই যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য ভাল বা বেয়া হওঁক, আমি তাক পালন কৰিম।”

7 After ten days, the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah.

৭পাছত দহ দিনৰ মুৰত যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য যিৰিমিয়াৰ ওচৰলৈ আহিল।

8 Then he called Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,

৮তেতিয়া তেওঁ কাৰেহৰ পুতেক যোহাননক আৰু তেওঁৰ লগত থকা সকলো সেনাপতিক আৰু সৰুৰ পৰা বৰলৈকে সকলো প্ৰজাক মাতি আনিলে।

9 and said to them, “The LORD, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to present your supplication before him, says:

৯আৰু তেওঁ তেওঁলোকক ক’লে, “তোমালোকৰ নিবেদন জনাবলৈ যিজনৰওচৰলৈ মোক পঠিয়াইছিলা, সেই ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই এই কথা কৈছে,

10 ‘If you will still live in this land, then I will build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up; for I grieve over the distress that I have brought on you.

১০‘তোমালোকে যদি এতিয়াও এই দেশত বাস কৰা, তেন্তে মই তোমালোকক পাতিম, নাভাঙিম, তোমালোকক ৰুম, নুঘালিম; কিয়নো তোমালোকৰ যি অমঙ্গল কৰিছোঁ, সেই বিষয়ে মই ক্ষান্ত হ’লো।

11 Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid. Do not be afraid of him,’ says the LORD, ‘for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.

১১যিজনৰ পৰা তোমালোকে ভয়ত আছা, সেই বাবিলৰ ৰজালৈ ভয় নকৰিবা; যিহোৱাই কৈছে, ‘তেওঁলৈ ভয় নকৰিবা; কিয়নো তোমালোকক নিস্তাৰ কৰিবলৈ আৰু তেওঁৰ হাতৰ পৰা তোমালোকক উদ্ধাৰ কৰিবলৈ মই তোমালোকৰ লগত আছোঁ।

12 I will grant you mercy, that he may have mercy on you, and cause you to return to your own land.

১২আৰু মই তোমালোকক কৰুণা দান কৰিম; আৰু তোমালোকক দয়া কৰি তোমালোকৰ দেশলৈ তোমালোকক উভটাই আনিম।

13 “‘But if you say, “We will not dwell in this land,” so that you do not obey the LORD your God’s voice,

১৩“কিন্তু, আমি এই দেশত বাস নকৰোঁ,” এই বুলি কৈ যদি তোমালোকে তোমালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য নুশুনা,

14 saying, “No, but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we will see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there we will dwell;”’

১৪আৰু যদি তোমালোকে কোৱা, যে, “সেয়ে নহ’ব! আমি য’ত ৰণ নেদেখিম, শিঙাৰ শব্দ নুশুনিম, আৰু আহাৰৰ অভাৱত ক্ষুধাতুৰ নহ’ম, সেই মিচৰ দেশত আমি সোমামগৈ, আৰু আমি তাত বাস কৰিম।”

15 now therefore hear the LORD’s word, O remnant of Judah! The LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says, ‘If you indeed set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to live there,

১৫তেতিয়া হে যিহূদাৰ অৱশিষ্ট ভাগ, তোমালোকে যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য শুনা। ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ঈশ্বৰ বাহিনীসকলৰ যিহোৱাই এই কথা কৈছে: তোমালোকে যদি মিচৰত সোমাবলৈ একেবাৰে সেইফালে মুখ কৰা আৰু তাত বাস কৰিবলৈ যোৱা,

16 then it will happen that the sword, which you fear, will overtake you there in the land of Egypt; and the famine, about which you are afraid, will follow close behind you there in Egypt; and you will die there.

১৬তেতিয়া তোমালোকে যি তৰোৱাললৈ ভয় কৰিছা সেই তৰোৱালে মিচৰ দেশতেই তোমালোকক লগ পাব আৰু যি দুৰ্ভিক্ষলৈ তোমালোকে ত্ৰাস পাইছা, সেই দুৰ্ভিক্ষই মিচৰ দেশতেই তোমালোকক ঢুকি পাব, আৰু তোমালোক তাতে মৰিবা।

17 So will it be with all the men who set their faces to go into Egypt to live there. They will die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence. None of them will remain or escape from the evil that I will bring on them.’

১৭যিসকল লোকে প্ৰবাস কৰিবৰ অৰ্থে মিচৰত সোমাবলৈ মুখ কৰিব, তেওঁলোক সকলোৰে সেই দশা হ’ব; তেওঁলোক তৰোৱাল, আকাল আৰু মহামাৰীৰ দ্বাৰাই মৰা পৰিব; আৰু মই তেওঁলোকলৈ যি অমঙ্গল ঘটাম, তাৰ পৰা তেওঁলোকৰ কোনেও উদ্ধাৰ কি ৰক্ষা নাপাব।

18 For the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘As my anger and my wrath has been poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so my wrath will be poured out on you, when you enter into Egypt; and you will be an object of horror, an astonishment, a curse, and a reproach; and you will see this place no more.’

১৮কিয়নো ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ঈশ্বৰ বাহিনীসকলৰ যিহোৱাই এই কথা কৈছে: যিৰূচালেম-নিবাসীসকলৰ ওপৰত যেনেকৈ মোৰ ক্ৰোধ আৰু কাপ ঢালি দিয়া হৈছিল, তেনেকৈ তোমালোকে মিচৰ দেশত সোমোৱা সময়ত তোমালোকৰ ওপৰতো মোৰ ক্ৰোধ ঢালি দিয়া হ’ব; আৰু তোমালোক শাও, বিস্ময়, অভিশাপ আৰু নিন্দাৰ বিষয় হ’বা; তোমালোকে এই ঠাই আৰু দেখিবলৈ নাপাবা।’

19 “The LORD has spoken concerning you, remnant of Judah, ‘Do not go into Egypt!’ Know certainly that I have testified to you today.

১৯হে যিহূদাৰ অৱশিষ্টভাগ, তোমালোকক যিহোৱাই ক’লে; তোমালোক মিচৰত নোসোমাবা! মই আজি তোমালোকক সতৰ্ক কৰিলোঁ, ইয়াক নিশ্চয়ে জানিবা।

20 For you have dealt deceitfully against your own souls; for you sent me to the LORD your God, saying, ‘Pray for us to the LORD our God; and according to all that the LORD our God says, so declare to us, and we will do it.’

২০কিয়নো তোমালোকে তোমালোকৰ বিৰুদ্ধে তোমালোকক ভ্ৰান্ত কৰিলা; কাৰণ তোমালোকে মোক নিজৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ গুৰিলৈ পঠিয়াই কৈছিলা, যে, ‘তুমি আমাৰ বাবে আমাৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ আগত প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰা; তেতিয়া আমাৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই যি যি ক’ব, সেইদৰে তুমি আমাক জনাবা, আমি তাক কৰিম।’

21 I have declared it to you today; but you have not obeyed the LORD your God’s voice in anything for which he has sent me to you.

২১পাছে আজি মই তোমালোকক তাক জনালোঁ; কিন্তু যি বিষয়ে তোমালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই মোক তোমালোকৰ ওচৰলৈ পঠিয়াইছিল, সেই বিষয়ৰ কোনো কথাত, তেওঁৰ বাক্যলৈ তোমালোকে কাণ দিয়া নাই।

22 Now therefore know certainly that you will die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence in the place where you desire to go to live.”

২২এতেকে এতিয়া নিশ্চয়ে জানিবা, যে, তোমালোকে প্ৰবাস কৰিবলৈ যি ঠাইলৈ যাব খুজিছা, সেই ঠাইত তৰোৱাল, আকাল আৰু মহামাৰীৰ দ্বাৰাই মৃত্যুৰ মুখত পৰিবা।”
