Jeremiah 41
1 Now in the seventh month, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal offspring and one of the chief officers of the king, and ten men with him, came to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they ate bread together in Mizpah.
೧ಏಳನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜವಂಶದವನೂ ಎಲೀಷಾಮನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನೂ ಅರಸನ ಪ್ರಧಾನರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಆದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನು ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮಿಚ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಊಟಮಾಡಿದರು.
2 Then Ishmael the son of Nethaniah arose, and the ten men who were with him, and struck Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword and killed him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.
೨ಆಗ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನೂ ಅವನೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದ ಹತ್ತು ಜನರೂ ಎದ್ದು ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗ ಶಾಫಾನನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಂದ ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನೂ ಆದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೊಂದರು.
3 Ishmael also killed all the Jews who were with Gedaliah at Mizpah, and the Chaldean men of war who were found there.
೩ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಿಚ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಕಸ್ದೀಯರಾದ ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನೂ ಹತ್ಯೆಮಾಡಿದನು.
4 The second day after he had killed Gedaliah, and no man knew it,
೪ಅವನು ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದ ಎರಡನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಸಂಗತಿಯು ಇನ್ನೂ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಯದಿರಲು,
5 men came from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, even eighty men, having their beards shaved and their clothes torn, and having cut themselves, with meal offerings and frankincense in their hand, to bring them to the LORD’s house.
೫ಗಡ್ಡಬೋಳಿಸಿ, ಬಟ್ಟೆಹರಿದು ಗಾಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಎಂಭತ್ತು ಜನರು ಶೆಕೆಮ್, ಶಿಲೋ, ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ಎಂಬ ಊರುಗಳಿಂದ ಬಂದು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಧೂಪ ಮತ್ತು ನೈವೇದ್ಯದ್ರವ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
6 Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went out from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went, and as he met them, he said to them, “Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.”
೬ಆಗ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಮಿಚ್ಪದಿಂದ ಅವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ದಾರಿಯುದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ಅಳುತ್ತಾ ನಡೆದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಎದರುಗೊಂಡು, “ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
7 It was so, when they came into the middle of the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah killed them, and cast them into the middle of the pit, he, and the men who were with him.
೭ಅವರು ಊರೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡಿಗರೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಬಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರು.
8 But ten men were found among those who said to Ishmael, “Do not kill us; for we have stores hidden in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey.” So he stopped, and did not kill them among their brothers.
೮ಆದರೆ ಆ ಎಂಭತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತು ಜನರು ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ, “ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಡ; ಗೋದಿ, ಜವೆಗೋದಿ, ಎಣ್ಣೆ, ಜೇನುತುಪ್ಪ, ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇವೆ” ಎಂದು ಬಿನ್ನೈಸಲು ಅವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಯವರಂತೆ ಕೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
9 Now the pit in which Ishmael cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he had killed, by the side of Gedaliah (this was that which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel), Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with those who were killed.
೯ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ತಾನು ಗೆದಲ್ಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಕೊಂದ ಇತರರ ಶವಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದ ಬಾವಿಯು, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಬಾಷನ ಭಯದಿಂದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಸನು ತೋಡಿಸಿದ್ದ ಬಾವಿಯೇ. ಆ ಬಾವಿಯನ್ನು ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಹತರಾದವರ ಶವಗಳಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
10 Then Ishmael carried away captive all of the people who were left in Mizpah, even the king’s daughters, and all the people who remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam. Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the children of Ammon.
೧೦ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ರಾಜಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರನ್ನು, ಕಾವಲುದಂಡಿನ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ನೆಬೂಜರದಾನನು ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ, ಮಿಚ್ಪದ ಉಳಿದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿದು ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯರ ಸೀಮೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟನು.
11 But when Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done,
೧೧ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನೂ ಅವನೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದ ಸಕಲ ಸೇನಾಪತಿಗಳೂ ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೆಡುಕನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ,
12 then they took all the men, and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and found him by the great waters that are in Gibeon.
೧೨ತಮ್ಮ ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟು, ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿನ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೆರೆಯ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.
13 Now when all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, then they were glad.
೧೩ಆಗ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರು ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನನ್ನೂ ಅವನೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೇನಾಪತಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು.
14 So all the people who Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah turned about and came back, and went to Johanan the son of Kareah.
೧೪ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಮಿಚ್ಪದಿಂದ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದಿದ್ದ ಸಕಲ ಜನರು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದರು.
15 But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the children of Ammon.
೧೫ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನೋ ಎಂಟು ಮಂದಿಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯರನ್ನು ಮೊರೆಹೊಕ್ಕನು.
16 Then Johanan the son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces who were with him took all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after he had killed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam—the men of war, with the women, the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gibeon.
೧೬ಆಗ ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನೂ ಅವನೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೇನಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ತಾವು ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿನಿಂದ ತಂದಿದ್ದ ಭಟರು, ಹೆಂಗಸರು, ಮಕ್ಕಳು, ಕಂಚುಕಿಗಳು, ಅಂತು ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಿಚ್ಪದಿಂದ ಒಯ್ದ ಉಳಿದ ಜನರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.
17 They departed and lived in Geruth Chimham, which is by Bethlehem, to go to enter into Egypt
೧೭ಅವರು ಕಸ್ದೀಯರ ಭಯದಿಂದ ಐಗುಪ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ವಲಸೆಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನ ಸಮೀಪವಾಗಿರುವ ಗೇರುಥ್ ಕಿಮ್ಹಾಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಂಡರು.
18 because of the Chaldeans; for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had killed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon made governor over the land.
೧೮ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಂದ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನೂ ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕಸ್ದೀಯರಿಗೆ ಅಂಜಿದರು.
