James 2
1 My brothers, do not hold the faith of our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with partiality.
௧என் சகோதரர்களே, மகிமையுள்ள நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவை விசுவாசிக்கிற நீங்கள் ஒரு சிலரை பட்சபாதத்துடன் நடத்தாதிருங்கள்.
2 For if a man with a gold ring, in fine clothing, comes into your synagogue, and a poor man in filthy clothing also comes in,
௨ஏனென்றால், பொன்மோதிரமும் அழகான ஆடையும் அணிந்திருக்கிற ஒரு மனிதனும், கந்தையான ஆடை அணிந்திருக்கிற ஒரு ஏழ்மையானவனும் உங்களுடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு வரும்போது,
3 and you pay special attention to him who wears the fine clothing and say, “Sit here in a good place;” and you tell the poor man, “Stand there,” or “Sit by my footstool”
௩அழகான ஆடை அணிந்திருந்தவனைப் பார்த்து: ஐயா இந்த நல்ல இடத்தில் உட்காருங்கள் என்றும்; ஏழ்மையானவனைப் பார்த்து: நீ அங்கே நில்லு, அல்லது இங்கே என் காலடியிலே உட்காரு என்றும் நீங்கள் சொன்னால்,
4 have not you shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
௪உங்களுக்குள்ளே பட்சபாதத்துடன், தகாத சிந்தனைகளோடு தீர்ப்பளிக்கிறவர்களாக இருப்பீர்களல்லவா?
5 Listen, my beloved brothers. Did not God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?
௫என் பிரியமான சகோதரர்களே, கேளுங்கள்; தேவன் இந்த உலகத்தின் ஏழ்மையானவர்களை விசுவாசத்தில் ஐசுவரியவான்களாகவும், தம்மிடத்தில் அன்பு செலுத்துகிறவர்களுக்குத் தாம் வாக்குத்தத்தம் செய்த ராஜ்யத்தைச் சுதந்தரிக்கிறவர்களாகவும் தெரிந்துகொள்ளவில்லையா?
6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and personally drag you before the courts?
௬நீங்களோ ஏழைகளை அவமதிக்கிறீர்கள். செல்வந்தர்களல்லவோ உங்களை ஒடுக்குகிறார்கள்? அவர்களல்லவோ உங்களை நீதிமன்றத்திற்கு இழுக்கிறார்கள்?
7 Do not they blaspheme the honorable name by which you are called?
௭உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட நல்ல நாமத்தை அவர்களல்லவோ நிந்திக்கிறார்கள்?
8 However, if you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well.
௮உன்னிடத்தில் நீ அன்பு செலுத்துகிறதுபோல மற்றவனிடத்திலும் அன்புசெலுத்துவாயாக என்று வேதவாக்கியம் சொல்லுகிற ராஜரீகப்பிரமாணத்தை நீங்கள் நிறைவேற்றினால் நன்மைசெய்வீர்கள்.
9 But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.
௯நீங்கள் பட்சபாதமுள்ளவர்களாக இருந்தால், பாவம்செய்து, மீறினவர்களென்று நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினாலே நியாயந்தீர்க்கப்படுவீர்கள்.
10 For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.
௧0எப்படியென்றால், ஒருவன் நியாயப்பிரமாணம் முழுவதையும் கைக்கொண்டிருந்தும், ஒன்றிலே தவறினால் எல்லாவற்றிலும் குற்றவாளியாக இருப்பான்.
11 For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not commit murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
௧௧ஏனென்றால், விபசாரம் செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக என்று சொன்னவர் கொலை செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக என்றும் சொன்னார்; ஆதலால், நீ விபசாரம் செய்யாமலிருந்தும் கொலை செய்தாயானால் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தை மீறினவனாவாய்.
12 So speak and so do as men who are to be judged by the law of freedom.
௧௨சுதந்திரப்பிரமாணத்தினால் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு அடையப்போகிறவர்களாக அதற்கேற்றபடி பேசி, அதற்கேற்றபடி செய்யுங்கள்.
13 For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
௧௩ஏனென்றால், இரக்கம் செய்யாதவனுக்கு இரக்கமில்லாத நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு கிடைக்கும்; நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்குமுன்பாக இரக்கம் மேன்மைபாராட்டும்.
14 What good is it, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has no works? Can faith save him?
௧௪என் சகோதரர்களே, ஒருவன் தனக்கு விசுவாசம் உண்டென்று சொல்லியும், செயல்களில்லாதவனாக இருந்தால் அவனுக்குப் பயன் என்ன? அந்த விசுவாசம் அவனை இரட்சிக்குமா?
15 And if a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food,
௧௫ஒரு சகோதரனாவது சகோதரியாவது, ஆடையில்லாமலும், அனுதின ஆகாரமில்லாமலும் இருக்கும்போது,
16 and one of you tells them, “Go in peace. Be warmed and filled;” yet you did not give them the things the body needs, what good is it?
௧௬உங்களில் ஒருவன் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் சமாதானத்தோடு போங்கள், குளிர்காய்ந்து பசியாற்றிக்கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று சொல்லியும், சரீரத்திற்கு வேண்டியவைகளை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்காவிட்டால் பயன் என்ன?
17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.
௧௭அப்படியே விசுவாசமும் செயல்களில்லாதிருந்தால் அது தன்னிலேதானே உயிரில்லாததாக இருக்கும்.
18 Yes, a man will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
௧௮ஒருவன்: உனக்கு விசுவாசமுண்டு, எனக்கு செயல்களும் உண்டு; செயல்களில்லாமல் உன் விசுவாசத்தை எனக்குக் காண்பி, நான் என் விசுவாசத்தை என் செயல்களினாலே உனக்குக் காண்பிப்பேன் என்பானே.
19 You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder.
௧௯தேவன் ஒருவர் உண்டென்று விசுவாசிக்கிறாய், அப்படிச் செய்கிறது நல்லதுதான்; பிசாசுகளும் விசுவாசித்து, நடுங்குகின்றன.
20 But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead?
௨0வீணான மனிதனே, செயல்களில்லாத விசுவாசம் உயிரில்லாதது என்று நீ அறியவேண்டுமா?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?
௨௧நம்முடைய தகப்பனாகிய ஆபிரகாம் தன் மகன் ஈசாக்கைப் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் வைக்கும்போது, செயல்களினாலே அல்லவோ நீதிமானாக்கப்பட்டான்?
22 You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected.
௨௨விசுவாசம் அவனுடைய செயல்களோடுகூட முயற்சிசெய்து, செயல்களினாலே விசுவாசம் பூரணப்பட்டதென்று பார்க்கிறாயே.
23 So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.
௨௩அப்படியே ஆபிரகாம் தேவனை விசுவாசித்தான், அது அவனுக்கு நீதியாக எண்ணப்பட்டது என்கிற வேதவாக்கியம் நிறைவேறியது; அவன் தேவனுடைய நண்பன் எனப்பட்டான்.
24 You see then that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith.
௨௪ஆதலால், மனிதன் விசுவாசத்தினால் மாத்திரமல்ல, செயல்களினாலேயும் நீதிமானாக்கப்படுகிறான் என்று நீங்கள் பார்க்கிறீர்களே.
25 In the same way, was not Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
௨௫அந்தப்படி ராகாப் என்னும் வேசியும் தூதர்களை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு வேறுவழியாக அனுப்பிவிட்டபோது, செயல்களினாலே அல்லவோ நீதியுள்ளவளாக்கப்பட்டாள்?
26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.
௨௬அப்படியே, ஆவியில்லாத சரீரம் உயிரில்லாததாக இருக்கிறதுபோல, செயல்களில்லாத விசுவாசமும் உயிரில்லாததாக இருக்கிறது.
