Isaiah 66
1 The LORD says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build to me? Where will I rest?
Assim diz o Senhor: Os céus são o meu throno, e a terra o escabello dos meus pés: qual seria a casa que vós me edificarieis? e qual seria o logar do meu descanço?
2 For my hand has made all these things, and so all these things came to be,” says the LORD: “but I will look to this man, even to he who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word.
Porque a minha mão fez todas estas coisas, e assim todas estas coisas foram feitas, diz o Senhor; mas para esse olharei, para o pobre e abatido de espirito, e que treme da minha palavra.
3 He who kills an ox is as he who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, as he who breaks a dog’s neck; he who offers an offering, as he who offers pig’s blood; he who burns frankincense, as he who blesses an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations.
Quem mata um boi é como o que fere um homem; quem sacrifica um cordeiro é como o que degola um cão; quem offerece uma oblação é como o que offerece sangue de porco; quem offerece incenso memorativo é como o que bemdiz a um idolo: tambem estes escolhem os seus proprios caminhos, e a sua alma toma prazer nas suas abominações;
4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears on them, because when I called, no one answered; when I spoke, they did not listen, but they did that which was evil in my eyes, and chose that in which I did not delight.”
Tambem eu escolherei seus escarneos, farei vir sobre elles os seus temores; porquanto clamei e ninguem respondeu, fallei, e não escutaram; mas fizeram o que parece mal aos meus olhos, e escolheram aquillo em que não tinha prazer.
5 Hear the LORD’s word, you who tremble at his word: “Your brothers who hate you, who cast you out for my name’s sake, have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy;’ but it is those who shall be disappointed.
Ouvi a palavra do Senhor, os que tremeis da sua palavra. Vossos irmãos, que vos aborrecem e longe de si vos separam por amor do meu nome, dizem: Glorifique-se o Senhor; porém apparecerá para a vossa alegria, e elles serão confundidos.
6 A voice of tumult from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that repays his enemies what they deserve.
Uma voz de grande rumor haverá da cidade, uma voz do templo, a voz do Senhor, que dá o pago aos seus inimigos.
7 “Before she travailed, she gave birth. Before her pain came, she delivered a son.
Antes que estivesse de parto, pariu; antes que lhe viessem as dores, deu á luz um filho macho.
8 Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she gave birth to her children.
Quem jámais ouviu tal coisa? quem viu coisas similhantes? poder-se-hia fazer parir uma terra n'um só dia? nasceria uma nação de uma só vez? mas já Sião esteve de parto e já pariu seus filhos.
9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to be delivered?” says the LORD. “Shall I who cause to give birth shut the womb?” says your God.
Abriria eu a madre, e não geraria? diz o Senhor: geraria eu, e fechar-me-hia? diz o teu Deus.
10 “Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad for her, all you who love her. Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn over her;
Gozae-vos com Jerusalem, e alegrae-vos d'ella, vós todos os que a amaes: alegrae-vos com ella de alegria, todos os que pranteastes por ella;
11 that you may nurse and be satisfied at the comforting breasts; that you may drink deeply, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.”
Para que mameis, e vos farteis dos peitos das suas consolações: para que chupeis, e vos deleiteis com o resplandor da sua gloria.
12 For the LORD says, “Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream, and you will nurse. You will be carried on her side, and will be dandled on her knees.
Porque assim diz o Senhor: Eis que estenderei sobre ella a paz como um rio, e a gloria das nações como um ribeiro que trasborda; então mamareis, ao colo vos trarão, e sobre os joelhos vos afagarão.
13 As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you. You will be comforted in Jerusalem.”
Como alguem a quem consola sua mãe, assim eu vos consolarei; e em Jerusalem vós sereis consolados.
14 You will see it, and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones will flourish like the tender grass. The LORD’s hand will be known among his servants; and he will have indignation against his enemies.
E o vereis e alegrar-se-ha o vosso coração, e os vossos ossos reverdecerão como a herva tenra: então a mão do Senhor será notoria aos seus servos, e elle se indignará contra os seus inimigos.
15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and his chariots will be like the whirlwind; to render his anger with fierceness, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
Porque, eis que o Senhor virá em fogo; e os seus carros como um torvelinho; para tornar a sua ira em furor, e a sua reprehensão em chammas de fogo.
16 For the LORD will execute judgment by fire and by his sword on all flesh; and those slain by the LORD will be many.
Porque com fogo e com a sua espada entrará o Senhor em juizo com toda a carne; e os mortos do Senhor serão multiplicados.
17 “Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves to go to the gardens, following one in the middle, eating pig’s meat, abominable things, and the mouse, they shall come to an end together,” says the LORD.
Os que se sanctificam, e se purificam nos jardins uns após os outros, no meio d'elles: os que comem carne de porco, e a abominação, e o rato: juntamente serão consumidos, diz o Senhor.
18 “For I know their works and their thoughts. The time comes that I will gather all nations and languages, and they will come, and will see my glory.
Porque conheço as suas obras e os seus pensamentos! o tempo vem em que ajuntarei todas as nações e linguas; e virão, e verão a minha gloria.
19 “I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to far-away islands, who have not heard my fame, nor have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.
E porei entre elles um signal, e os que d'elles escaparem enviarei ás nações, a Tarsis, Pul, e Lud, frecheiros a Tubal e Javan, até ás ilhas de mais longe, que não ouviram a minha fama, nem viram a minha gloria; e annunciarão a minha gloria entre as nações
20 They shall bring all your brothers out of all the nations for an offering to the LORD, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules, and on camels, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the LORD, as the children of Israel bring their offering in a clean vessel into the LORD’s house.
E trarão a todos os vossos irmãos, d'entre todas as nações, de presente ao Senhor, sobre cavallos, e em carros, e em liteiras, e sobre mulas, e sobre dromedarios, ao meu sancto monte, a Jerusalem, diz o Senhor: como quando os filhos de Israel trazem os seus presentes em vasos limpos á casa do Senhor:
21 Of them I will also select priests and Levites,” says the LORD.
E tambem d'elles tomarei a alguns para sacerdotes e para levitas, diz o Senhor.
22 “For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me,” says the LORD, “so your offspring and your name shall remain.
Porque, como os céus novos, e a terra nova, que hei de fazer, estarão diante da minha face, diz o Senhor, assim tambem ha de estar a vossa semente e o vosso nome.
23 It shall happen that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh will come to worship before me,” says the LORD.
E será que desde uma lua nova até á outra, e desde um sabbado até ao outro, virá toda a carne a adorar perante mim, diz o Senhor.
24 “They will go out, and look at the dead bodies of the men who have transgressed against me; for their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind.”
E sairão, e verão os corpos mortos dos homens que prevaricaram contra mim; porque o seu bicho nunca morrerá, nem o seu fogo se apagará; e serão em horror a toda a carne.
