Isaiah 30
1 “Woe to the rebellious children”, says the LORD, “who take counsel, but not from me; and who make an alliance, but not with my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin;
૧યહોવાહ કહે છે, “બળવાખોર સંતાનોને અફસોસ!” “તેઓ યોજનાઓ કરે છે, પણ મારી નહિ; તેઓ અન્ય દેશો સાથે સંધિઓ કરે છે, પણ તે મારા આત્માને અનુસરીને નહિ, તેથી તેઓ પાપ ઉપર પાપ ઉમેરે છે.
2 who set out to go down into Egypt without asking for my advice, to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to take refuge in the shadow of Egypt!
૨તેઓ મને પૂછયા વિના મિસરમાં ચાલ્યા જાય છે. તેઓ ફારુનથી રક્ષણ મેળવવા અને મિસરની છાયામાં શરણ શોધે છે.
3 Therefore the strength of Pharaoh will be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
૩તેથી ફારુનનું રક્ષણ તે તારા માટે શરમરૂપ અને મિસરની છાયામાં આશ્રય તને અપમાનરૂપ થશે.
4 For their princes are at Zoan, and their ambassadors have come to Hanes.
૪જો કે તેના સરદારો સોઆનમાં છે અને તેના સંદેશવાહકો હાનેસ પહોંચ્યા છે.
5 They shall all be ashamed because of a people that cannot profit them, that are not a help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.”
૫તોપણ જે લોકોથી તેઓને મદદ મળવાની નથી, જેઓ સહાયકારને ઉપયોગી થવાના નથી, પણ લજ્જાસ્પદ તથા અપમાનકારક છે, તેઓનાથી તેઓ સર્વ લજ્જિત થશે.”
6 The burden of the animals of the South. Through the land of trouble and anguish, of the lioness and the lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches on the shoulders of young donkeys, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to an unprofitable people.
૬નેગેબનાં પશુઓ વિષે ઈશ્વરવાણી: દુઃખ તથા સંકટનો દેશ કે જેમાંથી સિંહ તથા સિંહણ, ઝેરી સાપ તથા ઊડતા નાગ આવે છે, તેમાં થઈને તેઓ, જે લોકોથી તેમને મદદ થઈ શકે નહિ, તેઓની પાસે ગધેડાની પીઠ પર પોતાનું દ્રવ્ય, તથા ઊંટોની પીઠ પર પોતાના ખજાના લાદીને લઈ જાય છે.
7 For Egypt helps in vain, and to no purpose; therefore I have called her Rahab who sits still.
૭પણ મિસરની સહાય વ્યર્થ છે; તે માટે મેં તેનું નામ બેસી રહેનારી રાહાબ પાડ્યું છે.
8 Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come forever and ever.
૮પ્રભુએ મને કહ્યું, હવે ચાલ, તેઓની રુબરુ એક પાટી પર લખ અને તેને ટીપણાંમા કોતરી નાખ, જેથી તે ભવિષ્યમાં સદાને માટે સાક્ષી તરીકે રહે.
9 For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the LORD’s law;
૯કેમ કે આ લોકો બળવાખોર, જૂઠાં સંતાનો છે, તેઓ યહોવાહનું શિક્ષણ સાંભળવાને ચાહતા નથી એવા છે.
10 who tell the seers, “Do not see!” and the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things. Tell us pleasant things. Prophesy deceits.
૧૦તેઓ દૃષ્ટાઓને કહે છે, “તમે દર્શન જોશો નહિ;” અને પ્રબોધકોને કહે છે, “અમને સત્યની સીધી ભવિષ્યવાણી કહેશો નહિ; પણ અમને મીઠી મીઠી વાતો કહો અને ઠગાઈની ભવિષ્યવાણી કહો;
11 Get out of the way. Turn away from the path. Cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.”
૧૧માર્ગમાંથી નીકળી જાઓ; રસ્તા પરથી બાજુએ ખસી જાઓ; અમારી આગળથી ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્રને દૂર કરો.”
12 Therefore the Holy One of Israel says, “Because you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and rely on it,
૧૨તેથી ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્ર એવું કહે છે, “કેમ કે તમે આ વાતને નકારો છો અને જુલમ પર તથા કુટિલતા પર ભરોસો અને આધાર રાખો છો,
13 therefore this iniquity shall be to you like a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly in an instant.
૧૩માટે તમારાં આ પાપ ઊંચી ભીંતમાં પડેલી પહોળી ફાટ જેવાં છે, તે ભીંત પળવારમાં અકસ્માતે તૂટી પડે છે, તેના જેવા તમારા હાલ થશે.
14 He will break it as a potter’s vessel is broken, breaking it in pieces without sparing, so that there will not be found among the broken pieces a piece good enough to take fire from the hearth, or to dip up water out of the cistern.”
૧૪કુંભારનું વાસણ તૂટી જાય છે તે પ્રમાણે તે તેને ભાગી નાખશે; અને દયા રાખ્યા વગર તેના એવી રીતે ચૂરેચૂરા કરશે કે, એના કકડામાંથી ચૂલામાંથી આગ લેવા માટે ઠીકરું સરખુંય મળશે નહિ.
15 For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, “You will be saved in returning and rest. Your strength will be in quietness and in confidence.” You refused,
૧૫પ્રભુ યહોવાહ ઇઝરાયલના, પવિત્ર કહે છે કે, “પાછા ફરવાથી અને શાંત રહેવાથી તમે બચી જશો; શાંત રહેવામાં તથા ભરોસો રાખવામાં તમારું સામર્થ્ય હશે. પણ તમે એમ કરવા ચાહ્યું નહિ.
16 but you said, “No, for we will flee on horses;” therefore you will flee; and, “We will ride on the swift;” therefore those who pursue you will be swift.
૧૬ઊલટું તમે કહ્યું, ‘ના, અમે તો ઘોડેસવાર થઈને નાસી જવાના,’ તે માટે તમે નાસશો જ; અને તમે કહ્યું, ‘અમે વેગવાન ઘોડા પર સવારી કરવાના,’ તે માટે જે કોઈ તમારી પાછળ પડનાર છે તેઓ પણ વેગવાન થશે.
17 One thousand will flee at the threat of one. At the threat of five, you will flee until you are left like a beacon on the top of a mountain, and like a banner on a hill.
૧૭એકની ધમકીથી એક હજાર નાસી જશે; પાંચની ધમકીથી તમે બધા નાસી જશો અને તમે માત્ર પર્વત પરના ધ્વજદંડ જેવા અને ડુંગર પર નિશાનના જેવા થોડા જ રહી જશો.”
18 Therefore the LORD will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.
૧૮તે માટે યહોવાહ તમારા પર દયા કરવાની રાહ જોશે. તેથી તમારા પર કૃપા કરવા માટે તે ઉચ્ચસ્થાને બેસશે. કેમ કે યહોવાહ ન્યાયના ઈશ્વર છે; જેઓ તેમની વાટ જુએ છે તેઓ સર્વ પરમસુખી છે.
19 For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. You will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When he hears you, he will answer you.
૧૯હે યરુશાલેમમાં સિયોન પર રહેનારી પ્રજા, તું ફરી રડીશ નહિ. તારા પોકારનો અવાજ સાંભળીને તે તારા પર દયા કરશે જ કરશે. તે સાંભળતાં જ તને ઉત્તર આપશે.
20 Though the Lord may give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers will not be hidden any more, but your eyes will see your teachers;
૨૦જોકે યહોવાહ તમને સંકટરૂપી રોટલી તથા વિપત્તિરૂપી પાણી આપે છે, તોપણ તમારા શિક્ષક ફરી સંતાશે નહિ, પણ તમારી આંખો તમારા શિક્ષકને જોશે.
21 and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.”
૨૧જ્યારે તમે જમણી કે ડાબી બાજુ ફરશો ત્યારે તમારા કાન તમારી પાછળથી આવતા આવા અવાજને સાંભળશે કે, “આ માર્ગ છે, તે પર તમે ચાલો.”
22 You shall defile the overlaying of your engraved images of silver, and the plating of your molten images of gold. You shall cast them away as an unclean thing. You shall tell it, “Go away!”
૨૨વળી તમે ચાંદીની મૂર્તિઓ પર મઢેલા પડને તથા તમારી સોનેરી મૂર્તિઓ પર ચઢાવેલા ઢોળને અશુદ્ધ કરશો. તું તેમને અશુદ્ધ વસ્તુની જેમ ફેંકી દેશે. તું તેને કહેશે, “અહીંથી ચાલી જા.”
23 He will give the rain for your seed, with which you will sow the ground; and bread of the increase of the ground will be rich and plentiful. In that day, your livestock will feed in large pastures.
૨૩જે ભૂમિમાં તું તારું બીજ વાવશે, તે પર તે વરસાદ વરસાવશે તથા તે ભૂમિમાં પુષ્કળ અનાજ અને રોટલી ઉત્પન્ન કરશે, તે દિવસે તારાં જાનવરો મોટાં બીડમાં ચરશે.
24 The oxen likewise and the young donkeys that till the ground will eat savory feed, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fork.
૨૪ભૂમિ ખેડનાર બળદો અને ગધેડાં મોસમ પ્રમાણેનો, સલૂણો તથા સારી પેઠે ઊપણેલો ચારો ખાશે.
25 There will be brooks and streams of water on every lofty mountain and on every high hill in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
૨૫વળી કતલને મોટે દિવસે જ્યારે બુરજો પડશે સર્વ ઊંચા પર્વત પર અને સર્વ ઊંચા ડુંગર પર પાણીનાં નાળાં અને ઝરણાં વહેશે.
26 Moreover the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD binds up the fracture of his people, and heals the wound they were struck with.
૨૬ચંદ્રનું અજવાળું સૂર્યના અજવાળા સરખું થશે અને સૂર્યનું અજવાળું સાતગણું, સાત દિવસના અજવાળા સમાન થશે. યહોવાહ પોતાના લોકોના ઘાને પાટા બાંધશે અને તેઓના ઘા મટાડશે તે દિવસે એમ થશે.
27 Behold, the LORD’s name comes from far away, burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke. His lips are full of indignation. His tongue is as a devouring fire.
૨૭જુઓ, યહોવાહનું નામ બળતા રોષ તથા ઊડતા ધુમાડા સાથે દૂરથી આવે છે. તેઓના હોઠો કોપથી ભરેલા છે અને તેમની જીભ બળતા અગ્નિ સરખી છે.
28 His breath is as an overflowing stream that reaches even to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction. A bridle that leads to ruin will be in the jaws of the peoples.
૨૮તેઓનો શ્વાસ ગળા સુધી પહોંચતી ઊભરાતી નદી જેવો છે, જેથી તે વિનાશની ચાળણીએ પ્રજાઓને ચાળે; લોકોના મુખમાં ભ્રાંતિકારક લગામ નાખવામાં આવશે.
29 You will have a song, as in the night when a holy feast is kept, and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a flute to come to the LORD’s mountain, to Israel’s Rock.
૨૯પર્વની રાત્રે જેમ ગીતો ગવાય છે તેમ ગાયન કરશો અને યહોવાહના પર્વત પર ઇઝરાયલના ખડકની પાસે વાંસળી વગાડતા વગાડતા જનાર માણસની જેમ તમે મનમાં આનંદ કરશો.
30 The LORD will cause his glorious voice to be heard, and will show the descent of his arm, with the indignation of his anger and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast, storm, and hailstones.
૩૦યહોવાહ પોતાની વિજયી ગર્જના સંભળાવશે અને ઉગ્ર કોપથી, બળતા અગ્નિની જવાળાથી, આંધીથી, મુશળધાર વરસાદથી તથા કરાથી તે શત્રુઓને પોતાના ભુજનું સામર્થ્ય દેખાડશે.
31 For through the LORD’s voice the Assyrian will be dismayed. He will strike him with his rod.
૩૧કેમ કે યહોવાહની વાણીથી આશ્શૂર ભયભીત થશે, તે તેને સોટીથી મારશે.
32 Every stroke of the rod of punishment, which the LORD will lay on him, will be with the sound of tambourines and harps. He will fight with them in battles, brandishing weapons.
૩૨યહોવાહ જે નીમેલી લાકડીનો ફટકો તેને મારશે તેનો દરેક ફટકો ખંજરી તથા વીણાના સૂર સાથે મારવામાં આવશે; અને થથરાવી નાખનારી લડાઈઓમાં તે તેઓની સાથે લડશે.
33 For his burning place has long been ready. Yes, it is prepared for the king. He has made its pyre deep and large with fire and much wood. The LORD’s breath, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it.
૩૩કેમ કે પૂર્વકાળથી સળગનાર સ્થાન તૈયાર કરી રાખેલું છે. હા, તે રાજાને માટે તૈયાર કરેલું છે; અને ઈશ્વરે તેને ઊંડું તથા પહોળું કર્યું છે. એની ચિતામાં અગ્નિ તથા પુષ્કળ લાકડા છે. યહોવાહનો શ્વાસ ગંધકના પ્રવાહની જેમ તેને સળગાવે છે.
