Hebrews 5
1 For every high priest, being taken from among men, is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.
Porque todo o sumo sacerdote, tomado dentre os homens, é constituido a favor dos homens nas coisas concernentes a Deus, para que ofereça dons e sacrifícios pelos pecados;
2 The high priest can deal gently with those who are ignorant and going astray, because he himself is also surrounded with weakness.
O qual se possa compadecer ternamente dos ignorantes e errados; pois também ele mesmo está rodeado de fraqueza.
3 Because of this, he must offer sacrifices for sins for the people, as well as for himself.
E por esta causa deve ele, tanto pelo povo, como também por si mesmo, oferecer pelos pecados.
4 Nobody takes this honor on himself, but he is called by God, just like Aaron was.
E ninguém toma para si esta honra, senão o que é chamado por Deus, como Aarão.
5 So also Christ did not glorify himself to be made a high priest, but it was he who said to him, “You are my Son. Today I have become your father.”
Assim também Cristo se não glorificou a si mesmo, para se fazer sumo sacerdote, mas aquele que lhe disse: Tu és meu Filho, hoje te gerei.
6 As he says also in another place, "You are a priest for the age (aiōn g165), after the order of Melchizedek."
Como também diz noutro lugar: Tu és Sacerdote eternamente, segundo a ordem de Melchisedec, (aiōn g165)
7 He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,
O qual, nos dias da sua carne, oferecendo, com grande clamor e lágrimas, orações e suplicas ao que o podia livrar da morte, foi ouvido quanto ao que temia.
8 though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered.
Ainda que era Filho, todavia aprendeu a obediência, pelas coisas que padeceu.
9 Having been made perfect, he became to all of those who obey him the author of consummate (aiōnios g166) salvation,
E, sendo ele consumado, veio a ser a causa de eterna salvação para todos os que lhe obedecem; (aiōnios g166)
10 named by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.
Chamado por Deus sumo sacerdote, segundo a ordem de Melchisedec.
11 About him we have many words to say, and hard to interpret, seeing you have become dull of hearing.
Do qual muito temos que dizer, que é difícil de declarar; porquanto vos fizestes negligentes para ouvir.
12 For although by this time you should be teachers, you again need to have someone teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the revelations of God. You have come to need milk, and not solid food.
Porque, devendo já ser mestres, visto o tempo, ainda necessitais de que se vos torne a ensinar quais sejam os primeiros rudimentos das palavras de Deus: e vos haveis feito tais que necessitais de leite, e não de sólido mantimento.
13 For everyone who lives on milk is not experienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a baby.
Porque qualquer que ainda se alimenta de leite não está experimentado na palavra da justiça, porque é menino.
14 But solid food is for those who are full grown, who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.
Mas o mantimento sólido é para os perfeitos, os quais, já pelo costume, tem os sentidos exercitados para discernir tanto o bem como o mal.
