Genesis 45
1 Then Joseph could not control himself before all those who stood before him, and he called out, “Cause everyone to go out from me!” No one else stood with him, while Joseph made himself known to his brothers.
José ya no podía contenerse ante todos los que estaban a su lado y exclamó: ¡Saquen de mi presencia a todos! Nadie quedó con él cuando José se dio a conocer a sus hermanos.
2 He wept aloud. The Egyptians heard, and the house of Pharaoh heard.
Entonces alzó su voz con llanto. Lo oyeron los egipcios y lo oyó la casa de Faraón.
3 Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph! Does my father still live?” His brothers could not answer him; for they were terrified at his presence.
José dijo a sus hermanos: ¡Yo soy José! ¿Vive aún mi padre? Sus hermanos no pudieron responderle, porque estaban turbados delante de él.
4 Joseph said to his brothers, “Come near to me, please.” They came near. He said, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.
Entonces José dijo a sus hermanos: ¡Acérquense a mí, les ruego! Ellos se acercaron, y él dijo: Yo soy su hermano José, a quien ustedes vendieron para Egipto.
5 Now do not be grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life.
Ahora pues, no se entristezcan ni les pese por haberme vendido acá, pues ʼElohim me envió delante de ustedes para preservar la vida.
6 For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are yet five years, in which there will be no plowing and no harvest.
Porque ya hubo dos años de hambruna en la tierra, y aún quedan cinco años en los cuales no habrá siembra ni cosecha.
7 God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant in the earth, and to save you alive by a great deliverance.
Por eso ʼElohim me envió delante de ustedes con el propósito de preservar un remanente en la tierra para ustedes y mantenerlos vivos por medio de una gran liberación.
8 So now it was not you who sent me here, but God, and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, lord of all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.
Así que, no me enviaron ustedes acá, sino ʼElohim. Él me colocó como un padre para Faraón, ʼadón de toda su casa y gobernador en toda la tierra de Egipto.
9 Hurry, and go up to my father, and tell him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says, “God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me. Do not wait.
Dense prisa, suban hasta mi padre y díganle: Así dice tu hijo José: ʼElohim me estableció como ʼadón de todo Egipto. Desciende a mí, no te detengas.
10 You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you will be near to me, you, your children, your children’s children, your flocks, your herds, and all that you have.
Vivirás en la tierra de Gosén y estarás cerca de mí, tú y tus hijos, y los hijos de tus hijos, tus rebaños y tus manadas de ganado vacuno y todo lo que tienes.
11 There I will provide for you; for there are yet five years of famine; lest you come to poverty, you, and your household, and all that you have.”’
Allí te sustentaré, pues aún quedan cinco años de hambruna, para que no lleguen a la pobreza, tú y tu casa, y todo lo que tienes.
12 Behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaks to you.
Por cierto, los ojos de ustedes pueden ver, y los ojos de mi hermano Benjamín, que es mi boca la que les habla.
13 You shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that you have seen. You shall hurry and bring my father down here.”
Tienen que informar a mi padre de todo mi esplendor en Egipto y todo lo que vieron. Tienen que darse prisa y traigan a mi padre acá.
14 He fell on his brother Benjamin’s neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck.
Entonces se echó sobre el cuello de su hermano Benjamín, y lloró, y Benjamín lloró en el cuello de él.
15 He kissed all his brothers, and wept on them. After that his brothers talked with him.
Besó a todos sus hermanos y lloró sobre ellos. Después sus hermanos hablaron con él.
16 The report of it was heard in Pharaoh’s house, saying, “Joseph’s brothers have come.” It pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.
En el palacio de Faraón una voz fue oída que decía: Vinieron los hermanos de José. Y [esto] agradó a Faraón y a sus esclavos.
17 Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Tell your brothers, ‘Do this: Load your animals, and go, travel to the land of Canaan.
Faraón dijo a José: Dí a tus hermanos: Hagan esto. Carguen sus bestias y vayan. Entren en la tierra de Canaán.
18 Take your father and your households, and come to me, and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land.’
Luego tomen a su padre y a sus familias, y vengan a mí. Yo les daré lo bueno de la tierra de Egipto, y comerán de la abundancia del país.
19 Now you are commanded to do this: Take wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.
Mándales también: Tomen carrozas de la tierra de Egipto para sus pequeños y sus esposas. Traigan a su padre y vengan.
20 Also, do not concern yourselves about your belongings, for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.”
Y no se preocupen por sus enseres, porque lo mejor de toda la tierra de Egipto es de ustedes.
21 The sons of Israel did so. Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.
Así lo hicieron los hijos de Israel. José les dio carrozas conforme a la orden de Faraón y les dio provisiones para el camino.
22 He gave each one of them changes of clothing, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothing.
A todos ellos les dio mudas de ropa y a Benjamín le dio 300 piezas de plata y cinco mudas de ropa.
23 He sent the following to his father: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread and provision for his father by the way.
A su padre envió diez asnos cargados de lo mejor de Egipto, y diez asnas cargadas de trigo, pan y víveres para el viaje de su padre.
24 So he sent his brothers away, and they departed. He said to them, “See that you do not quarrel on the way.”
Despidió a sus hermanos y salieron. Y les dijo: No discutan por el camino.
25 They went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan, to Jacob their father.
Subieron de Egipto y llegaron a la tierra de Canaán, a su padre Jacob.
26 They told him, saying, “Joseph is still alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt.” His heart fainted, for he did not believe them.
Le dieron las noticias y dijeron: ¡José aún vive y es gobernador en toda la tierra de Egipto! Pero [Jacob] estaba afligido, pues no les creía.
27 They told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said to them. When he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob, their father, revived.
Pero ellos le dijeron todas las palabras que José les dijo, y al ver las carrozas que José envió para llevarlo, el espíritu de su padre Jacob revivió.
28 Israel said, “It is enough. Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”
Entonces Israel dijo: ¡Basta! ¡Mi hijo José aún vive! Iré y lo veré antes que yo muera.
