Galatians 6
1 Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to yourself so that you also are not tempted.
Mes frères, alors même qu'un homme serait surpris en quel que faute, vous qui êtes spirituels, redressez-le avec un esprit de douceur, prenant garde à vous-mêmes, pour que vous ne tombiez pas en tentation.
2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Portez les fardeaux les uns des autres, et vous accomplirez ainsi la loi de Christ;
3 For if a man thinks himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
car si quelqu'un croit être quelque chose, quoiqu'il ne soit rien, il se fait illusion à lui-même.
4 But let each man examine his own work, and then he will have reason to boast in himself, and not in someone else.
Que chacun examine ses propres oeuvres, et alors il aura matière à se glorifier en se comparant à soi-même seulement, et non en se comparant à autrui;
5 For each man will bear his own burden.
car chacun a son propre fardeau à porter.
6 But let him who is taught in the word share all good things with him who teaches.
Que celui à qui l’on enseigne la Parole, fasse part de tous ses biens à celui qui l'enseigne.
7 Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
Ne vous abusez pas; on ne se moque pas de Dieu: ce qu'on aura semé, on le recueillera.
8 For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap consummate (aiōnios g166) life.
Celui qui sème pour sa propre chair, recueillera de la chair, la corruption; celui qui sème pour l'esprit, recueillera de l'esprit, la vie éternelle. (aiōnios g166)
9 Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we do not give up.
Ne nous lassons point de bien faire, car nous recueillerons en son temps, si nous ne nous relâchons pas.
10 So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.
Ainsi donc, puisque nous en avons l'occasion, faisons envers tous ce qui est bien, mais surtout envers nos frères en la foi.
11 See with what large letters I write to you with my own hand.
Voyez avec quelles grosses lettres je vous écris de ma propre main.
12 As many as desire to make a good impression in the flesh compel you to be circumcised, just so they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
Ceux qui vous forcent à vous faire circoncire, ce sont tous ces gens qui veulent se donner bonne apparence en la chair, dans le seul but de n'être pas persécutés pour la croix de Christ;
13 For even they who receive circumcision do not keep the law themselves, but they desire to have you circumcised, so that they may boast in your flesh.
car quoiqu'ils se soient fait circoncire, eux-mêmes n'observent pas la Loi; ils veulent que vous soyez circoncis, afin de se glorifier dans votre chair.
14 But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Pour moi, Dieu me garde de me glorifier, si ce n'est dans la croix de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, par lequel le monde est crucifié pour moi, comme je le suis pour le monde;
15 For in Christ Jesus neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.
car la circoncision n'est rien, l'incirconcision n'est rien; ce qui est tout, c'est d'être une nouvelle créature.
16 As many as walk by this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on God’s Israel.
Paix et miséricorde sur tous ceux qui marcheront d'après cette règle, et sur l'Israël de Dieu!
17 From now on, let no one cause me any trouble, for I bear the marks of the Lord Jesus branded on my body.
Qu'à l'avenir, personne ne me fasse de la peine, car je porte sur mon corps les stigmates de Jésus.
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
Que la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec votre esprit, mes frères! Amen!
