Galatians 1
1 Paul, an apostle—not from men, nor through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead—
人よりに非ず、人によるにも非ず、イエズス、キリストと、之を死者の中より復活せしめ給ひし父にて在す神とによりて使徒たるパウロ、
2 and all the brothers who are with me, to the assemblies of Galatia:
並に我と共に在る兄弟一同、ガラチアの諸教會に[書簡を贈る]。
3 Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,
願はくは父にて在す神、及び我主イエズス、キリストより、恩寵と平安とを汝等に賜はらん事を。
4 who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil age (aiōn g165), according to the will of our God and Father—
此キリストは即ち我父にて在す神の思召によりて、我等を此惡き世より救出さんとて、我等の罪の為に己を献げ給ひし者なれば、 (aiōn g165)
之に世々光榮あれかし、アメン。 (aiōn g165)
6 I marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different “good news”,
我は汝等がキリストの恩寵を以て己を召し給ひし者を遠ざかりて、斯も速に異なる福音に移れるを怪しむ。
7 but there is not another “good news.” Only there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the Good News of Christ.
是異なる福音あるに非ず、唯或人々が汝等を擾して、キリストの福音を翻さんとするなり。
8 But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any “good news” other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed.
然れど我等にまれ、天よりの使にまれ、我等が汝等に宣べし所に反して福音を宣ぶるならば、詛はれよかし。
9 As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any “good news” other than that which you received, let him be cursed.
我等曩に言ひしが今又重ねて言ふ、汝等が受けし所に反して福音を宣ぶる者あらば詛はれよかし。
10 For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
蓋今我人の心を獲んとするか、将神の御意を獲んとするか、人の心に適はんと力むるか、我尚人の心に適はばキリストの僕に非ざるべし。
11 But I make known to you, brothers, concerning the Good News which was preached by me, that it is not according to man.
第一項 パウロの使徒たる事と其教とは神より出づ 第一編 パウロ自己に就きての弁駁 蓋兄弟等よ、汝等に告知らせん、我が宣べし福音は人によれるものに非ず、
12 For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ.
即ち我人より之を受け之に學びたるに非ず、イエズス、キリストの黙示によれるなり。
13 For you have heard of my way of living in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the assembly of God and ravaged it.
蓋ユデア教に於る前の我行状如何は、汝等の聞きし所なり。即ち我は神の教會を甚だしく迫害して之を荒し、
14 I advanced in the Jews’ religion beyond many of my own age among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
我族中なる同年輩の人々に優りてユデア教に進み、我先祖の傳の為に一層熱中して奮發し居たりしなり。
15 But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through his grace,
然るに母の胎内より選みて、其恩寵を以て我を召し給へる者は、
16 to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,
我をして其福音を異邦人の中に宣べしめんとて、御子を我心に顕はし給ふことの御意に適ひしかば、其時我直に血肉に謀らず、
17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia. Then I returned to Damascus.
又エルザレム即ち我先輩なる使徒等の許にも往かず、アラビアに至り、復ダマスコに歸れり。
18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Peter, and stayed with him fifteen days.
然て三年を経てペトロを訪問せんとてエルザレムに至り、十五日の間彼が家に留りしも、
19 But of the other apostles I saw no one except James, the Lord’s brother.
他の使徒等には、主の兄弟ヤコボの外誰にも遇はざりき。
20 Now about the things which I write to you, behold, before God, I am not lying.
我が汝等に書遣る事は神の御前にて僞なし。
21 Then I came to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
其後我シリア及びシリシア地方に至りしが、
22 I was still unknown by face to the assemblies of Judea which were in Christ,
キリストに在るユデアの諸教會は我面を知らず、
23 but they only heard, “He who once persecuted us now preaches the faith that he once tried to destroy.”
唯曾て我等を迫害しつつありし人、今や己が曩に亡ぼさんとしたりし信仰を宣傳ふと聞き、
24 So they glorified God in me.
我に就きて光榮を神に歸し奉りつつありき。
