Ezekiel 25
1 The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
2 “Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them.
Fils de l'homme, tourne ton visage contre les enfants d'Ammon et prophétise contre eux,
3 Tell the children of Ammon, ‘Hear the word of the Lord GOD! The Lord GOD says, “Because you said, ‘Aha!’ against my sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into captivity,
et dis aux enfants d'Ammon: Écoutez la parole du Seigneur, l'Éternel! Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Parce que tu as dit: « Ah! ah! » à la vue de mon sanctuaire profané et du pays d'Israël désolé, et de la maison de Juda menée en captivité;
4 therefore, behold, I will deliver you to the children of the east for a possession. They will set their encampments in you and make their dwellings in you. They will eat your fruit and they will drink your milk.
pour cela, voici, je te donne aux enfants de l'Orient en propriété, pour qu'ils établissent leurs parcs au milieu de toi, et y fixent leurs demeures; ils mangeront tes fruits et boiront ton lait:
5 I will make Rabbah a stable for camels and the children of Ammon a resting place for flocks. Then you will know that I am the LORD.”
et je ferai de Rabbah un pâturage pour les chameaux, et [du pays] des enfants d'Ammon une bergerie pour les brebis, et vous saurez que je suis l'Éternel.
6 For the Lord GOD says: “Because you have clapped your hands, stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the contempt of your soul against the land of Israel,
Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Parce que tu as battu des mains et frappé du pied, et qu'avec tout ton orgueil tu t'es réjouie de cœur à la vue du pays d'Israël;
7 therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand on you, and will deliver you for a plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries. I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am the LORD.”
pour cela, voici, j'étends ma main contre toi, et te livre en proie aux nations, et te retranche du nombre des peuples, et t'extermine du milieu des pays; je t'anéantis, afin que tu saches que je suis l'Éternel.
8 “‘The Lord GOD says: “Because Moab and Seir say, ‘Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations,’
Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Parce que Moab et Séir disent: Voici, la maison de Juda est comme tous les autres peuples!
9 therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on its frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim,
pour cela, voici j'ouvre le flanc de Moab, depuis les villes, depuis toutes ses villes, ornement du pays, Beth-Jésimoth, Baal-Meon et jusqu'à Kiriathaïm,
10 to the children of the east, to go against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.
aux enfants de l'Orient, en même temps que le pays des enfants d'Ammon, et je le leur donnerai en propriété, afin qu'il ne soit plus fait mention des enfants d'Ammon parmi les peuples;
11 I will execute judgments on Moab. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”
et sur Moab j'exécuterai mes jugements, afin qu'ils sachent que je suis l'Éternel.
12 “‘The Lord GOD says: “Because Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and taken revenge on them,”
Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Parce que Édom s'est conduit envers la maison de Juda par un esprit de vengeance, et s'est rendu coupable, et a tiré vengeance d'elle;
13 therefore the Lord GOD says, “I will stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman. They will fall by the sword even to Dedan.
pour cela, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: J'étendrai ma main contre Édom, et en exterminerai les hommes et les bêtes, et j'en ferai un désert de Théman à Dedan; ils périront par l'épée.
14 I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel. They will do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath. Then they will know my vengeance,” says the Lord GOD.
Et j'exécuterai mes vengeances sur Édom par le bras de mon peuple d'Israël, et il traitera Édom selon ma colère et mon courroux, et ils ressentiront mes vengeances, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
15 “‘The Lord GOD says: “Because the Philistines have taken revenge, and have taken vengeance with contempt of soul to destroy with perpetual hostility,”
Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Parce que les Philistins ont agi par vengeance et qu'ils se sont vengés orgueilleusement et de cœur, avec la volonté de détruire, par suite d'une haine éternelle;
16 therefore the Lord GOD says, “Behold, I will stretch out my hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.
pour cela, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, j'étends ma main contre les Philistins, et j'extirperai les Crétites, et détruirai ce qui reste sur la côte de la mer,
17 I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I lay my vengeance on them.”’”
et j'exercerai sur eux de grandes vengeances en châtiant avec fureur, afin qu'ils sachent que je suis l'Éternel, quand j'exercerai mes vengeances sur eux.
