< Ezekiel 17 >

1 The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
Hiti chun kahenga Pakai thusei hiche hi ahung lhunge.
2 “Son of man, tell a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel;
“Mihem chapa, hiche thuchih hi pen lang, Israel mipi techu hiche thusim hi seipeh in.
3 and say, ‘The Lord GOD says: “A great eagle with great wings and long feathers, full of feathers which had various colors, came to Lebanon and took the top of the cedar.
Thaneitah Pakaija kon hiche thusei hi pen: ‘Muvanlai lentah khat alhaving teni jong lent ah le amul jong sao tah, amul ho pahbet na kitom khat Lebanon lama ahungin Cedar thing leh vum'a ahung touve.
4 He cropped off the topmost of its young twigs, and carried it to a land of traffic. He planted it in a city of merchants.
Chuleh abah asang pen tah chu alou lhan kivei miho chenna khopi khatna apomang tai. Kivei miho chenna khopi a chun aphut tai.
5 “‘“He also took some of the seed of the land and planted it in fruitful soil. He placed it beside many waters. He set it as a willow tree.
Aman hiche gam'a kon chun muchi ho chu apon chule leiphatna laikhatna agatun ahi. Thingnem banga akhan theina dingin vadung len panga atun ahi.
6 It grew and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and its roots were under him. So it became a vine, produced branches, and shot out sprigs.
Hilaimun nahun ajung akho lut in, lengpigui nem cha bangin akhang dohtai. Abahho chu muvanlai lam ngan ahung khang doh in, chule ajung ho chu tolla chun akhang lut peh tai. Abah lhou tah tah ahin sep doh in ana ahung nou tai.
7 “‘“There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers. Behold, this vine bent its roots toward him, and shot out its branches toward him, from the ground where it was planted, that he might water it.
Ahinla muvanlai lentah a chomkhat alhaving lentah leh amul dimsetna pol khat ahunge. Hijeh chun lengpigui chu twi ngaichat najeh chun tun vang ajung ho leh abah ho jouse chu amalam ngan ahung jamdoh tauve.
8 It was planted in a good soil by many waters, that it might produce branches and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a good vine.”’
Twi ninglhin namun leh lei phatna munna kiphut ahijeng vang chun, hijeh chun lengpiphung loupi tah khat in ahung khangdoh in chule ana thalhingset leh thei namtwi tah tah ahin sep doh tan ahi.
9 “Say, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Will it prosper? Will not he pull up its roots and cut off its fruit, that it may wither, that all its fresh springing leaves may wither? It cannot be raised from its roots by a strong arm or many people.
Hijeh chun tun thaneitah Pakai chun adong tai. Hiche lengpi phung hi khang touva chule phatou cheh cheh ding hinam? Ahipoi keiman ajung le adangho kabodoh a, atheiga ho kasat lhah gam ding, chule ana ho goplha a thidiu ahin, ban thahattah le sepai tamtah jaulouva bailam tah a kabodoh ding ahi.
10 Yes, behold, being planted, will it prosper? Will not it utterly wither when the east wind touches it? It will wither in the ground where it grew.”’”
Ahin lengpi phung chu akiphu chon teng leh ahing thei nadem? Ahipoi, goplha ding ahitai. Solam huijin ahinsem teng hoitah a akhan dohna mun chu leiphatah namun hijongleh thiden tante.”
11 Moreover the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
Hichun kahenga Pakaija konin hiche thuhi ahung lhunge.
12 “Say now to the rebellious house, ‘Do not you know what these things mean?’ Tell them, ‘Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took its king, and its princes, and brought them to him to Babylon.
Hiche doumah bol Israel koma seipeh in. Hiche muvanlai thuchih kisei hi nahet doh theilouvu ham? Babylon lengpa hi Jerusalem a hungin tin, amanu lengpa le leng chapate manin tin Babylon a atolmang diu ahi.

15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Will he prosper? Will he who does such things escape? Will he break the covenant, and still escape?

16 “‘As I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the middle of Babylon he will die.
Ahipoi tahbeh mongin keima kahing jinge tin thaneitah Pakaiyin aseije. Akitepna donse louva asuhkeh peh leng vaipo tung doh pa Babylon gamsunga chu Israel lengpa thiden ding ahitai.

18 For he has despised the oath by breaking the covenant; and behold, he had given his hand, and yet has done all these things. He will not escape.
Ajeh chu Israel lengpan kitepna anot thapma chule akihahsel jou nunga asuhkeh kit jeh a sohcha louhel ding ahi.
19 “Therefore the Lord GOD says: ‘As I live, I will surely bring on his own head my oath that he has despised and my covenant that he has broken.
Hiche jeh a chu thaneitah Pakai thusei chu hiche hi ahi. Thabeh mongin keima kahinge. Kamma kitah tah a akihahselna leh akitepna ho asuhkeh jeh a keiman ka engbol ding ahi.

22 “The Lord GOD says: ‘I will also take some of the lofty top of the cedar, and will plant it. I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain.
Hichehi thaneitah Pakai thusei ahi. Cedar thingphung sang tah khat a konna abah khat kalah a chule Israel molsang pen laitah chunga kaphu dong ahi.

24 All the trees of the field will know that I, the LORD, have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree flourish. “‘I, the LORD, have spoken and have done it.’”
Chuleh thingphung jousen thingphung sang jouse kasatlhah a thingphung nem ho chu sangtah'a kakhandoh sah a, chuti chu Pakai kahi ti ahetsoh kei diu ahi.
