Exodus 18
1 Now Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses and for Israel his people, how the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt.
၁ဘုရားသခင်သည် မောရှေမှစ၍ ကိုယ်တော်၏ လူဣသရေလအမျိုးအဘို့ ပြုတော်မူသမျှကို၎င်း၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ဣသရေလအမျိုးကို အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်မှ နှုတ်ဆောင်တော်မူကြောင်းကို၎င်း၊ မိဒျန် ယဇ်ပုရောဟိတ်ဖြစ်သော မောရှေ၏ ယောက္ခမ ယေသရော ကြားသည်ရှိသော်၊
2 Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, received Zipporah, Moses’ wife, after he had sent her away,
၂မောရှေလွှတ်ခဲ့သော မယားနှင့်
3 and her two sons. The name of one son was Gershom, for Moses said, “I have lived as a foreigner in a foreign land”.
၃သူ၏သားနှစ်ယောက်ကို ယူ၍ သွားလေ၏။ သားတယောက်ကား၊ ဂေရရှုံ အမည်ရှိ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ငါသည် တကျွန်းတနိုင်ငံ၌ ဧည့်သည်အာဂန္တုဖြစ်ရပြီဟု အဘဆိုသတည်း။
4 The name of the other was Eliezer, for he said, “My father’s God was my help and delivered me from Pharaoh’s sword.”
၄သားတယောက်ကား၊ ဧလျေဇာ အမည်ရှိ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ငါ့ဘိုးဘေးတို့၏ ဘုရားသခင်သည် ငါ့ကို မစ၍ ဖာရောဘုရင်၏ ထားမှ ကယ်လွှတ်တော်မူပြီဟု ဆိုသတည်း။
5 Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, came with Moses’ sons and his wife to Moses into the wilderness where he was encamped, at the Mountain of God.
၅မောရှေ၏ ယောက္ခမ ယေသရောသည် မောရှေမယားနှင့် သားတို့ကို ယူ၍၊ တော၌ ဘုရားသခင်၏ တောင်တော်နား၊ မောရှေတပ်ချရာအရပ်သို့ ရောက်လာလျှင်၊
6 He said to Moses, “I, your father-in-law Jethro, have come to you with your wife, and her two sons with her.”
၆ကိုယ်တော်၏ယောက္ခမ ယေသရောနှင့် ကိုယ်တော်၏ မယား၊ သားနှစ်ယောက်တို့သည် ကိုယ်တော်ထံသို့ ရောက်လာပါပြီဟု မောရှေအား ကြားပြောသော်၊
7 Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, and bowed and kissed him. They asked each other of their welfare, and they came into the tent.
၇မောရှေသည် ယောက္ခမကို ခရီးဦးကြိုပြုခြင်းငှာ ထွက်၍ ဦးချနမ်းရှုပ်လျက်၊ ကျန်းမာကြောင်းကို တယောက်နှင့်တယောက် မေးမြန်းလျက် တဲသို့ဝင်ကြ၏။
8 Moses told his father-in-law all that the LORD had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the hardships that had come on them on the way, and how the LORD delivered them.
၈ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ဣသရေလအမျိုးအတွက် ဖာရောဘုရင်နှင့် အဲဂုတ္တုလူတို့၌ ပြုတော်မူသမျှကို ၎င်း၊ လမ်းခရီးတွင် ခံရသော ဆင်းရဲဒုက္ခအလုံးစုံကို၎င်း၊ ထိုဆင်းရဲဒုက္ခမှ ထာဝရဘုရား ကယ်လွှတ်တော်မူ ကြောင်းကို၎င်း၊ မောရှေသည် ယောက္ခမအား ကြားပြောလေ၏။
9 Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, in that he had delivered them out of the hand of the Egyptians.
၉ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ဣသရေလအမျိုးကို အဲဂုတ္တုလူတို့လက်မှ ကယ်နှုတ်၍၊ ပြုတော်မူသော ကျေးဇူးကြောင့် ယေသရောသည် ဝမ်းမြောက်လျက်၊
10 Jethro said, “Blessed be the LORD, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh; who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
၁၀အဲဂုတ္တုလူတို့လက်မှ၎င်း၊ ဖာရောဘုရင်လက်မှ၎င်း၊ သင့်ကို ကယ်နှုတ်တော်မူထသော၊ လူများတို့ကို အဲဂုတ္တုလူတို့လက်မှ ကယ်နှုတ်တော်မူသော ထာဝရဘုရားသည် မင်္ဂလာရှိတော်မူစေသတည်း။
11 Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods because of the way that they treated people arrogantly.”
၁၁ထာဝရဘုရားသည် အခြားသောဘုရား ရှိသမျှတို့ထက် သာ၍ ကြီးမြတ်တော်မူကြောင်းကို ယခု ငါသိ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ လူတို့သည် မာနထောင်လွှားသော အမှုအရာတွင်၊ ထာဝရဘုရားနိုင်တော်မူ၏ဟု ဆိုပြီးမှ၊
12 Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God. Aaron came with all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses’ father-in-law before God.
၁၂မောရှေ၏ ယောက္ခမ ယေသရောသည်၊ မီးရှို့စရာယဇ်နှင့် ဘုရားသခင်အဘို့ ယဇ်များကို ဆောင်ခဲ့၍၊ အာရုန်နှင့် ဣသရေလအမျိုး အသက်ကြီးသူအပေါင်းတို့သည်၊ မောရှေ၏ ယောက္ခမနှင့်အတူ ဘုရားသခင့် ရှေ့တော်၌ အစာစားခြင်းငှာ လာကြ၏။
13 On the next day, Moses sat to judge the people, and the people stood around Moses from the morning to the evening.
၁၃နက်ဖြန်နေ့၌ မောရှေသည်၊ လူများကို တရားစီရင်ခြင်းငှာ ထိုင်လေ၏။ နံနက်မှစ၍ ညဦးတိုင်အောင်၊ လူများတို့သည် မောရှေရှေ့မှာ နေကြ၏။
14 When Moses’ father-in-law saw all that he did to the people, he said, “What is this thing that you do for the people? Why do you sit alone, and all the people stand around you from morning to evening?”
၁၄မောရှေသည် လူများတို့အား ပြုသမျှကို ယောက္ခမမြင်လျှင်၊ ဤလူများတို့အား ပြုသောအမှု အဘယ်သို့နည်း။ သင်သည် တယောက်တည်းထိုင်လျက်၊ လူအပေါင်းတို့သည် နံနက်မှစ၍ ညဦးတိုင်အောင် သင့်ရှေ့မှာ အဘယ်ကြောင့် နေရကြသနည်းဟု ဆို၏။
15 Moses said to his father-in-law, “Because the people come to me to inquire of God.
၁၅မောရှေကလည်း၊ ဤသူတို့သည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ အယူတော်ကို ခံလို၍ ကျွန်ုပ်ထံသို့ လာသောကြောင့် ဤသို့ဖြစ်၏။
16 When they have a matter, they come to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor, and I make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.”
၁၆သူတို့သည် အမှုရှိလျှင် အကျွန်ုပ်ထံသို့လာ၍ သူတို့၏အမှုကို ကျွန်ုပ်ဆုံးဖြတ်ရ၏။ ဘုရားသခင်၏ ပညတ်တရားများကို သင်ချရ၏ဟု ယောက္ခမအား ပြောလျှင်၊
17 Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “The thing that you do is not good.
၁၇ယောက္ခမက၊ သင်ပြုသောအမှုသည် မတော်မသင့်ဖြစ်၏။
18 You will surely wear away, both you, and this people that is with you; for the thing is too heavy for you. You are not able to perform it yourself alone.
၁၈သင်မှစ၍ သင်၌ပါသော ဤလူများတို့သည် အမှန် အားလျော့ကြလိမ့်မည်။ ဤအမှုသည် သင်၌ အလွန်လေး၏။ တယောက်တည်း မတတ်နိုင်သောအမှုဖြစ်၏။
19 Listen now to my voice. I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You represent the people before God, and bring the causes to God.
၁၉ငါ့စကားကို နားထောင်လော့။ ငါအကြံပေးမည်။ ဘုရားသခင်သည်လည်း သင့်ဘက်၌ ရှိတော်မူလိမ့် မည်။ သင်သည် ဘုရားသခင်နှင့်ဆိုင်သော အမှု၌ လူများတို့၏ အမှုကို စောင့်လျက် ဘုရားသခင်အထံတော်သို့ ဝင်၍ လျှောက်ရမည်။
20 You shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and shall show them the way in which they must walk, and the work that they must do.
၂၀သူတို့အားလည်း ပညတ်တရားတော်များကို သင်ချရမည်။ သူတို့သွားရာလမ်း၊ ပြုရသောအမှုကိုလည်း ပြရမည်။
21 Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men which fear God: men of truth, hating unjust gain; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
၂၁ထိုမှတပါး ဘုရားသခင်ကို ကြောက်ရွံ့လျက်၊ သစ္စာနှင့်ပြည့်စုံလျက်၊ လောဘကို ရွံရှာလျက်၊ တတ်စွမ်းနိုင်သောသူတို့ကို လူအပေါင်းတို့အထဲက ရွေးကောက်၍၊ တထောင်အုပ်၊ တရာအုပ်၊ ငါးဆယ်အုပ်၊ တဆယ်အုပ်အရာ၌ ခန့်ထားရမည်။
22 Let them judge the people at all times. It shall be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they shall judge themselves. So shall it be easier for you, and they shall share the load with you.
၂၂ထိုသူတို့သည် ခပ်သိမ်းသောအချိန်၌ လူများတို့ကို တရားစီရင်ကြစေ။ ကြီးသောအမှု၌ သင်၏အယူကို ခံကြစေ။ ငယ်သောအမှုကို အလိုလို စီရင်ကြစေ။ သို့ဖြစ်လျှင် သူတို့သည် ဝိုင်းညီ၍ အမှုထမ်းသဖြင့် သင်သည် သက်သာလိမ့်မည်။
23 If you will do this thing, and God commands you so, then you will be able to endure, and all these people also will go to their place in peace.”
၂၃ထိုသို့ ဘုရားသခင် အခွင့်နှင့်ပြုလျှင် သင်သည် ခိုင်ခံ့လိမ့်မည်။ ဤလူအပေါင်းတို့သည် မိမိနေရာပြည် သို့ ငြိမ်ဝပ်စွာ သွားကြလိမ့်မည်ဟု ပြောဆို၏။
24 So Moses listened to the voice of his father-in-law, and did all that he had said.
၂၄မောရှေသည်လည်း ယောက္ခမ၏စကားကို နားထောင်၍ စကားရှိသည်အတိုင်း ပြုလျက်၊
25 Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
၂၅တတ်စွမ်းနိုင်သောသူတို့ကို ဣသရေလအမျိုးထဲက ရွေးကောက်၍ လူတထောင်အုပ်၊ တရာအုပ်၊ ငါးဆယ်အုပ်၊ တဆယ်အုပ် အသီးအသီး ခေါင်းအရာ၌ ခန့်ထားလေ၏။
26 They judged the people at all times. They brought the hard cases to Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.
၂၆ထိုသူတို့သည် ခပ်သိမ်းသောအချိန်၌ လူတို့ကို တရားစီရင်ကြ၏။ ခက်သောအမှု၌ မောရှေ၏အယူကို ခံကြ၏။ လွယ်သောအမှုကို အလိုလို စီရင်ကြ၏။
27 Moses let his father-in-law depart, and he went his way into his own land.
၂၇ထိုနောက် မောရှေသည် ယောက္ခမသွားရသောအခွင့်ကို ပေး၍၊ သူသည် မိမိနေရာသို့ သွားလေ၏။
