Acts 7
1 The high priest said, “Are these things so?”
௧பிரதான ஆசாரியன் அவனை நோக்கி: காரியம் இப்படியா இருக்கிறது என்று கேட்டான்.
2 He said, “Brothers and fathers, listen. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran,
௨அதற்கு அவன்: சகோதரர்களே, தகப்பன்மார்களே, கேளுங்கள். நம்முடைய முற்பிதாவாகிய ஆபிரகாம் காரானூரிலே குடியிருக்கிறதற்கு முன்பே மெசொப்பொத்தாமியா நாட்டிலே இருக்கும்போது மகிமையின் தேவன் அவனுக்குத் தரிசனமாகி:
3 and said to him, ‘Get out of your land and away from your relatives, and come into a land which I will show you.’
௩நீ உன் தேசத்தையும் உன் இனத்தையும்விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, நான் உனக்குக் காண்பிக்கும் தேசத்திற்குப் போ என்றார்.
4 Then he came out of the land of the Chaldaeans and lived in Haran. From there, when his father was dead, God moved him into this land where you are now living.
௪அப்பொழுது அவன் கல்தேயர் தேசத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, காரானூரிலே குடியிருந்தான். அவனுடைய தகப்பன் மரித்தபின்பு, அந்த இடத்தைவிட்டு நீங்கள் இப்பொழுது குடியிருக்கிற இந்த தேசத்திற்கு அவனை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து குடியிருக்கும்படி செய்தார்.
5 He gave him no inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on. He promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his offspring after him, when he still had no child.
௫இதிலே ஒரு அடி நிலத்தையாவது அவனுக்கு சொத்தாகக் கொடுக்காமல், அவனுக்குப் பிள்ளையில்லாதிருக்கும்போது: உனக்கும் உனக்குப் பின்வரும் உன் சந்ததிக்கும் இதை சொத்தாகத் தருவேன் என்று அவனுக்கு வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணினார்.
6 God spoke in this way: that his offspring would live as aliens in a strange land, and that they would be enslaved and mistreated for four hundred years.
௬அப்படியே, தேவன் அவனை நோக்கி: உன் சந்ததியார் வேறு தேசத்தில் குடியிருப்பார்கள்; அந்த தேசத்தார் அவர்களை அடிமைகளாக்கி, நானூறு வருடங்கள் துன்பப்படுத்துவார்கள்.
7 ‘I will judge the nation to which they will be in bondage,’ said God, ‘and after that they will come out and serve me in this place.’
௭அவர்களை அடிமைப்படுத்தும் மக்களை நான் தண்டிப்பேன். அதற்குப்பின்பு அவர்கள் புறப்பட்டுவந்து இந்த இடத்திலே எனக்கு ஆராதனை செய்வார்கள் என்றார்.
8 He gave him the covenant of circumcision. So Abraham became the father of Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day. Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.
௮மேலும் விருத்தசேதன உடன்படிக்கையையும் அவனுக்கு ஏற்படுத்தினார். அந்தப்படியே அவன் ஈசாக்கைப் பெற்றபோது, எட்டாம் நாளிலே அவனுக்கு விருத்தசேதனம்பண்ணினான். ஈசாக்கு யாக்கோபையும், யாக்கோபு பன்னிரண்டு கோத்திரப்பிதாக்களையும் பெற்றார்கள்.
9 “The patriarchs, moved with jealousy against Joseph, sold him into Egypt. God was with him
௯அந்தக் கோத்திரப்பிதாக்கள் பொறாமைகொண்டு யோசேப்பை எகிப்துக்குக் கொண்டுபோகும்படியாக விற்றுப்போட்டார்கள்.
10 and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. He made him governor over Egypt and all his house.
௧0தேவனோ அவனோடிருந்து, எல்லா உபத்திரவங்களில் இருந்தும் அவனை விடுவித்து, எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய பார்வோனிடம் அவனுக்கு தயவையும் ஞானத்தையும் அருளினார்; அந்த ராஜா அவனை எகிப்துதேசத்திற்கும் தன் வீடு அனைத்திற்கும் அதிகாரியாக ஏற்படுத்தினான்.
11 Now a famine came over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction. Our fathers found no food.
௧௧பின்பு எகிப்து கானான் என்னும் தேசங்களிலெங்கும் பஞ்சமும் அதிக வருத்தமும் உண்டாகி, நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆகாரம் கிடைக்காமல்போனது.
12 But when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent out our fathers the first time.
௧௨அப்பொழுது எகிப்திலே தானியம் உண்டு என்று யாக்கோபு கேள்விப்பட்டு, யோசேப்புடைய மூத்த சகோதரர்களை முதல்முறை அனுப்பினான்.
13 On the second time Joseph was made known to his brothers, and Joseph’s family was revealed to Pharaoh.
௧௩இரண்டாம்முறை யோசேப்பு தன்னுடைய சகோதரர்களுக்குத் தன்னைத் தெரியப்படுத்தினான். யோசேப்புடைய வம்சமும் பார்வோனுக்குத் தெரியவந்தது.
14 Joseph sent and summoned Jacob his father and all his relatives, seventy-five souls.
௧௪பின்பு யோசேப்பு, தன்னுடைய தகப்பன் யாக்கோபையும் தன்னுடைய இனத்தார் எழுபத்தைந்துபேரையும் அழைத்துவரும்படி அனுப்பினான்.
15 Jacob went down into Egypt and he died, himself and our fathers;
௧௫அந்தப்படி யாக்கோபு எகிப்துக்குப் போனான். அவனும் நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்களும் மரித்து,
16 and they were brought back to Shechem and laid in the tomb that Abraham bought for a price in silver from the children of Hamor of Shechem.
௧௬அங்கேயிருந்து சீகேமுக்குக் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டு, ஆபிரகாம் சீகேமின் தகப்பனாகிய ஏமோருடைய சந்ததியாரிடத்தில் விலைக்கு வாங்கியிருந்த கல்லறையில் வைக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.
17 “But as the time of the promise came close which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,
௧௭ஆபிரகாமுக்கு தேவன் ஆணையிட்டு அருளின வாக்குத்தத்தம் நிறைவேறும் நேரம் நெருங்கியபோது,
18 until there arose a different king who did not know Joseph.
௧௮யோசேப்பைத் தெரியாத வேறொரு ராஜா தோன்றின காலம்வரையிலும், மக்கள் எகிப்திலே பலுகிப் பெருகினார்கள்.
19 The same took advantage of our race and mistreated our fathers, and forced them to abandon their babies, so that they would not stay alive.
௧௯அவன் நம்முடைய மக்களை வஞ்சகமாக நடப்பித்து, நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்களின் குழந்தைகள் உயிரோடிராதபடிக்கு அவர்கள் அவைகளை வெளியே போட்டுவிடும்படி செய்து, அவர்களை உபத்திரவப்படுத்தினான்.
20 At that time Moses was born, and was exceedingly handsome to God. He was nourished three months in his father’s house.
௨0அக்காலத்திலே மோசே பிறந்து, மிகுந்த அழகுள்ளவனாக இருந்து, மூன்று மாதங்கள் தன் தகப்பன் வீட்டிலே வளர்க்கப்பட்டான்.
21 When he was abandoned, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up and reared him as her own son.
௨௧அவன் வீட்டிற்கு வெளியே போட்டுவிடப்பட்டபோது, பார்வோனுடைய மகள் அவனை எடுத்துத் தனக்குப் பிள்ளையாக வளர்த்தாள்.
22 Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians. He was mighty in his words and works.
௨௨மோசே எகிப்தியருடைய எல்லா சாஸ்திரங்களிலும் கற்பிக்கப்பட்டு, வாக்கிலும் செய்கையிலும் வல்லவனானான்.
23 But when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brothers, the children of Israel.
௨௩அவனுக்கு நாற்பது வயதானபோது, இஸ்ரவேலின் பிள்ளைகளாகிய தன்னுடைய சகோதரர்களைக் கண்டு சந்திக்கும்படி அவனுடைய இருதயத்தில் தோன்றியது.
24 Seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him and avenged him who was oppressed, striking the Egyptian.
௨௪அப்பொழுது அவர்களில் ஒருவன் அநியாயமாக நடத்தப்படுகிறதை அவன் கண்டு, அவனுக்குத் துணையாக இருந்து, எகிப்தியனை வெட்டி, துன்பப்பட்டவனுக்கு நியாயம் செய்தான்.
25 He supposed that his brothers understood that God, by his hand, was giving them deliverance; but they did not understand.
௨௫தன்னுடைய கையினாலே தேவன் தங்களுக்கு விடுதலையைத் தருவார் என்பதைத் தன்னுடைய சகோதரர்கள் தெரிந்துகொள்வார்களென்று அவன் நினைத்தான்; அவர்களோ அதை தெரிந்துகொள்ளவில்லை.
26 “The day following, he appeared to them as they fought, and urged them to be at peace again, saying, ‘Sirs, you are brothers. Why do you wrong one another?’
௨௬மறுநாளிலே சண்டைபண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்கிற இரண்டுபேரை அவன் கண்டு: மனிதர்களே, நீங்கள் சகோதரர்களாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்; ஒருவருக்கொருவர் அநியாயம் செய்கிறது என்ன என்று, அவர்களைச் சமாதானப்படுத்தும்படி பேசினான்.
27 But he who did his neighbor wrong pushed him away, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge over us?
௨௭ஆனால் மற்றவனுக்கு அநியாயஞ்செய்தவன் அவனைப் பிடித்துத் தள்ளி: எங்கள்மேல் அதிகாரியாகவும், நியாயாதிபதியாகவும் உன்னை நியமித்தவன் யார்?
28 Do you want to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’
௨௮நேற்று நீ அந்த எகிப்தியனைக் கொன்றதுபோல என்னையும் கொன்றுபோட நினைக்கிறாயோ என்றான்.
29 Moses fled at this saying, and became a stranger in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.
௨௯இந்த வார்த்தையினிமித்தம் மோசே ஓடிப்போய், மீதியான் தேசத்திலே வசித்து வந்தான்; அங்கே இருக்கும்போது அவனுக்கு இரண்டு குமாரர்கள் பிறந்தார்கள்.
30 “When forty years were fulfilled, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush.
௩0நாற்பது வருடங்கள் முடிந்தபின்பு, சீனாய்மலையின் வனாந்திரத்திலே கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் முட்செடி எரிகிற அக்கினிஜூவாலையிலே அவனுக்குத் தரிசனமானார்.
31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight. As he came close to see, the voice of the Lord came to him,
௩௧மோசே அந்தத் தரிசனத்தைக் கண்டு, அதிசயப்பட்டு, அதை உற்றுப்பார்க்கும்படி அருகில் வரும்போது:
32 ‘I am the God of your fathers: the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ Moses trembled and dared not look.
௩௨நான் ஆபிரகாமின் தேவனும் ஈசாக்கின் தேவனும் யாக்கோபின் தேவனுமாகிய உன் முற்பிதாக்களுடைய தேவனாக இருக்கிறேன் என்று கர்த்தர் உரைத்த சத்தம் அவனுக்குக் கேட்டது. அப்பொழுது மோசே நடுக்கமடைந்து, உற்றுப்பார்க்கத் துணிச்சல் இல்லாமலிருந்தான்.
33 The Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you stand is holy ground.
௩௩பின்னும் கர்த்தர் அவனை நோக்கி: உன் பாதங்களிலிருக்கிற காலணிகளைக் கழற்றிப்போடு; நீ நிற்கிற இடம் பரிசுத்த பூமியாக இருக்கிறது.
34 I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their groaning. I have come down to deliver them. Now come, I will send you into Egypt.’
௩௪எகிப்திலிருக்கிற என் மக்களின் உபத்திரவத்தை நான் கண்டு, அவர்கள் பெருமூச்சைக்கேட்டு, அவர்களை விடுவிக்கும்படி இறங்கினேன்; ஆகவே, நீ வா, நான் உன்னை எகிப்திற்கு அனுப்புவேன் என்றார்.
35 “This Moses whom they refused, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’—God has sent him as both a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.
௩௫உன்னை அதிகாரியாகவும் நியாயாதிபதியாகவும் நியமித்தவன் யார் என்று சொல்லி அவர்கள் நிராகரித்த இந்த மோசேயைத்தான் தேவன், முட்செடியில் அவனுக்குத் தரிசனமான தூதனாலே தலைவனாகவும் மீட்பனாகவும் அனுப்பினார்.
36 This man led them out, having worked wonders and signs in Egypt, in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.
௩௬இவனே அவர்களை அங்கேயிருந்து அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து, எகிப்து தேசத்திலேயும் செங்கடலிலேயும், நாற்பது வருடகாலமாக வனாந்திரத்திலேயும், அற்புதங்களையும் அடையாளங்களையும் செய்தான்.
37 This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, ‘The Lord our God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me.’
௩௭இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களை நோக்கி: உங்களுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுடைய சகோதரர்களிலிருந்து என்னைப்போல ஒரு தீர்க்கதரிசியை உங்களுக்காக ஏற்படுத்துவார், அவர் சொல்வதை கேட்பீர்களாக என்று சொன்னவனும் இந்த மோசேயே.
38 This is he who was in the assembly in the wilderness with the angel that spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, who received living revelations to give to us,
௩௮சீனாய்மலையில் தன்னோடு பேசின தூதனோடும் நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்களோடும் வனாந்திரத்தில் இருந்தவனும், நமக்குக் கொடுக்கும்படி ஜீவவார்த்தைகளைப் பெற்றவனும் இவனே.
39 to whom our fathers would not be obedient, but rejected him and turned back in their hearts to Egypt,
௩௯இவனுக்கு நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்கள் கீழ்ப்படிய மனமில்லாமல், இவனைத் தள்ளிவிட்டு, தங்களுடைய இருதயங்களில் எகிப்துக்குத் திரும்பி,
40 saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods that will go before us, for as for this Moses who led us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’
௪0ஆரோனை நோக்கி: எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து எங்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்த அந்த மோசேக்கு என்ன ஆனதோ தெரியாது; ஆதலால் எங்களுக்கு முன்னேசெல்லும் தெய்வங்களை எங்களுக்கு உண்டுபண்ணும் என்று சொல்லி;
41 They made a calf in those days, and brought a sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their hands.
௪௧அந்த நாட்களில் ஒரு கன்றுக்குட்டியை உண்டுபண்ணி, அந்த விக்கிரகத்திற்குப் பலியிட்டு, தங்களுடைய கைவேலைகளில் மகிழ்ந்திருந்தார்கள்.
42 But God turned away and gave them up to serve the army of the sky, as it is written in the book of the prophets, ‘Did you offer to me slain animals and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
௪௨அப்பொழுது தேவன் அவர்களைவிட்டு விலகி, வானத்தின் கோள்களுக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்ய அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார். அதைக்குறித்து: இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தாரே, நீங்கள் வனாந்திரத்திலிருந்த நாற்பது வருடங்கள்வரையில் காணிக்கைகளையும் பலிகளையும் எனக்குச் செலுத்தினீர்களோ என்றும்,
43 You took up the tabernacle of Moloch, the star of your god Rephan, the figures which you made to worship, so I will carry you away beyond Babylon.’
௪௩பணிந்துகொள்ளும்படி நீங்கள் உண்டாக்கின சொரூபங்களாகிய மோளோகினுடைய கூடாரத்தையும், உங்களுடைய தேவனாகிய ரெம்பான் என்னும் நட்சத்திர சொரூபத்தையும் சுமந்தீர்களே; ஆகவே, உங்களைப் பாபிலோனுக்கு அப்புறத்திலே குடிபோகப்பண்ணுவேன்’ என்றும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறதே.
44 “Our fathers had the tabernacle of the testimony in the wilderness, even as he who spoke to Moses commanded him to make it according to the pattern that he had seen;
௪௪மேலும் நீ பார்த்த மாதிரியின்படியே சாட்சியின் கூடாரத்தை உண்டுபண்ணு என்று மோசேயுடனே பேசினவர் கட்டளையிட்டபடி, அந்தக் கூடாரம் வனாந்திரத்திலே நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்களோடு இருந்தது.
45 which also our fathers, in their turn, brought in with Joshua when they entered into the possession of the nations whom God drove out before the face of our fathers to the days of David,
௪௫மேலும், யோசுவாவோடுகூட நம்முடைய முற்பிதாக்கள் அதைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டு, தேவன் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்திவிட்ட யூதரல்லாதவர்களுடைய தேசத்தை அவர்கள் கைப்பற்றிக்கொள்ளும்போது, அதை அந்த தேசத்திற்கு கொண்டுவந்து தாவீதின் நாள்வரை வைத்திருந்தார்கள்.
46 who found favor in the sight of God, and asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob.
௪௬இவன் தேவனிடத்தில் தயவு பெற்றபடியினால், யாக்கோபின் தேவனுக்கு ஒரு ஆலயத்தைத் தான் கட்டவேண்டுமென்று விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்.
47 But Solomon built him a house.
௪௭சாலொமோனோ அவருக்கு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டினான்.
48 However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says,
௪௮ஆனாலும் உன்னதமான தேவன் கைகளினால் செய்யப்பட்ட ஆலயங்களில் வாசம்பண்ணுவதில்லை.
49 ‘heaven is my throne, and the earth a footstool for my feet. What kind of house will you build me?’ says the Lord. ‘Or what is the place of my rest?
௪௯வானம் எனக்குச் சிங்காசனமும் பூமி எனக்குப் பாதபடியுமாக இருக்கிறது; எனக்காக நீங்கள் எப்படிப்பட்ட வீட்டைக் கட்டுவீர்கள்; நான் தங்கியிருக்கத்தக்க இடம் எது;
50 Did not my hand make all these things?’
௫0இவைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் என்னுடைய கரம் உண்டாக்கவில்லையா’ என்று கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார் என்று தீர்க்கதரிசி சொல்லியிருக்கிறானே.
51 “You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit! As your fathers did, so you do.
௫௧“வணங்காக் கழுத்துள்ளவர்களே, இருதயத்திலும் காதுகளிலும் விருத்தசேதனம் பெறாதவர்களே, உங்களுடைய முற்பிதாக்களைப்போல நீங்களும் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவருக்கு எப்பொழுதும் எதிர்த்துநிற்கிறீர்கள்.
52 Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? They killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you have now become betrayers and murderers.
௫௨தீர்க்கதரிசிகளில் யாரை உங்களுடைய முற்பிதாக்கள் துன்பப்படுத்தாமல் இருந்தார்கள்? நீதிபரராகிய இயேசுவின் வருகையை முன்னறிவித்தவர்களையும் அவர்கள் கொலைசெய்தார்கள். இப்பொழுது நீங்கள் அவருக்குத் துரோகிகளும் அவரைக் கொலைசெய்த பாதகருமாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்.
53 You received the law as it was ordained by angels, and did not keep it!”
௫௩தேவதூதர்களைக்கொண்டு நீங்கள் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைப் பெற்றிருந்தும், அதைக் கடைபிடிக்காமல்போனீர்கள்” என்றான்.
54 Now when they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.
௫௪இவைகளை அவர்கள் கேட்டபொழுது மிகுந்த கோபமடைந்து, அவனைப் பார்த்துப் பல்லைக் கடித்தார்கள்.
55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up steadfastly into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
௫௫அவன் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவராலே நிறைந்தவனாக, வானத்தை அண்ணாந்துபார்த்து, தேவனுடைய மகிமையையும், தேவனுடைய வலதுபக்கத்தில் இயேசுவானவர் நிற்கிறதையும் பார்த்து:
56 and said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”
௫௬அதோ வானங்கள் திறந்திருக்கிறதையும், இயேசுவானவர் தேவனுடைய வலதுபக்கத்தில் நிற்கிறதையும் காண்கிறேன் என்றான்.
57 But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears, then rushed at him with one accord.
௫௭அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் உரத்த சத்தமாகக் கூக்குரலிட்டுத் தங்களுடைய காதுகளை அடைத்துக்கொண்டு, ஒன்றுசேர்ந்து அவன்மேல் பாய்ந்து,
58 They threw him out of the city and stoned him. The witnesses placed their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.
௫௮அவனை நகரத்திற்கு வெளியே தள்ளி, அவன் மீது கல்லெறிந்தார்கள். சாட்சிக்காரர்கள் தங்களுடைய ஆடைகளைக் கழற்றி, சவுல் என்னப்பட்ட ஒரு வாலிபனுடைய பாதத்தின் அருகே வைத்தார்கள்.
59 They stoned Stephen as he called out, saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!”
௫௯அப்பொழுது: கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவே, என் ஆவியை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும் என்று ஸ்தேவான் தொழுதுகொள்ளும்போது, அவனைக் கல்லெறிந்தார்கள்.
60 He kneeled down and cried with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” When he had said this, he fell asleep.
௬0அவனோ, முழங்காற்படியிட்டு: ஆண்டவரே, இவர்கள்மேல் இந்தப்பாவத்தைச் சுமத்தாமல் இரும் என்று அதிக சத்தமிட்டுச் சொன்னான். இப்படிச் சொல்லி உயிரைவிட்டான்.
