Acts 14
1 In Iconium, they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude both of Jews and of Greeks believed.
১এর পরে পৌল ও বার্ণবা ইকনিয়ে ইহুদীদের সমাজঘরে প্রবেশ করলেন এবং এমন স্পষ্টভাবে কথা বললেন যে, যিহূদী ও গ্রীকদের মধ্যে অনেকে বিশ্বাস করল।
2 But the disbelieving Jews stirred up and embittered the souls of the Gentiles against the brothers.
২কিন্তু যে ইহুদীরা অবাধ্য হলো, তারা ভাইদের বিরুদ্ধে অযিহূদীর লোকেদের প্রাণ উত্তেজিত ও ক্ষেপিয়ে তুলল।
3 Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who testified to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
৩সুতরাং তাঁরা আরোও অনেকদিন সেখানে থাকলেন, সাহসের সঙ্গে এবং প্রভুর শক্তির সঙ্গে কথা বলতেন; আর তিনি প্রভুর অনুগ্রহের কথা বলতেন এবং প্রভুও পৌল এবং বার্ণবার হাত দিয়ে বিভিন্ন চিহ্ন এবং আশ্চর্য্য কাজ করতেন।
4 But the multitude of the city was divided. Part sided with the Jews and part with the apostles.
৪এর ফলে শহরের লোকেরা দুভাগে ভাগ হলো, একদল ইহুদীদের আর একদল প্রেরিতদের পক্ষ নিল।
5 When some of both the Gentiles and the Jews, with their rulers, made a violent attempt to mistreat and stone them,
৫তখন অযিহূদীর ও ইহুদীদের কিছু লোকেরা তাদের নেতাদের সঙ্গে যুক্তি পরামর্শ করে, তাঁদের অপমান ও পাথর মারার পরিকল্পনা করল।
6 they became aware of it and fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, Derbe, and the surrounding region.
৬তাঁরা তাদের পরিকল্পনা বুঝতে পেরে লুকায়নিয়া দেশের, লুস্ত্রা ও দর্বী শহরে এবং তার চারপাশের অঞ্চলে পালিয়ে গেলেন;
7 There they preached the Good News.
৭আর সেখানে তাঁরা সুসমাচার প্রচার করতে লাগলেন।
8 At Lystra a certain man sat, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked.
৮লুস্ত্রায় একজন ব্যক্তি বসে থাকতেন, তার দাঁড়ানোর কোনোও শক্তি ছিল না, সে জন্ম থেকেই খোঁড়া, কখনোও হাঁটা চলা করে নি।
9 He was listening to Paul speaking, who, fastening eyes on him and seeing that he had faith to be made whole,
৯সেই ব্যক্তি পৌলের কথা শুনছিলেন; পৌল তার দিকে একভাবে তাকালেন, ও দেখতে পেলেন সুস্থ হবার জন্য তার বিশ্বাস আছে,
10 said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet!” He leaped up and walked.
১০তিনি উঁচুস্বরে তাকে বললেন, তোমার পায়ে ভর দিয়ে সোজা হয়ে দাঁড়াও; তবে সে লাফ দিয়ে দাঁড়াল ও হাঁটতে লাগলো।
11 When the multitude saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the language of Lycaonia, “The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!”
১১পৌল যা করলেন, তা দেখে লোকেরা লুকানীয় ভাষায় উঁচুস্বরে বলতে লাগল, দেবতারা মানুষ রূপ নিয়ে আমাদের মধ্যে এসেছে।
12 They called Barnabas “Jupiter”, and Paul “Mercury”, because he was the chief speaker.
১২তারা বার্ণবাকে দ্যুপিতর (জিউস) এবং পৌলকে মর্কুরিয় (হারমেশ) বলল, কারণ পৌল প্রধান বক্তা ছিলেন।
13 The priest of Jupiter, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have made a sacrifice along with the multitudes.
১৩এবং শহরের সামনে দ্যুপিতরের যে মন্দির ছিল, তার যাজক (পুরোহিত) কয়েকটা ষাঁড় ও মালা নিয়ে শহরের মূল দরজার সামনে লোকেদের সঙ্গে বলিদান করতে চাইল।
14 But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they tore their clothes and sprang into the multitude, crying out,
১৪কিন্তু প্রেরিতরা, বার্ণবা ও পৌল, একথা শুনে তাঁরা নিজের বস্ত্র ছিঁড়লেন এবং দৌড়ে বাইরে গিয়ে লোকেদের উদ্দেশ্যে বললেন,
15 “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men of the same nature as you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;
১৫মহাশয়েরা, আপনারা এমন কেন করছেন? আমরাও আপনাদের মত সম সুখদুঃখভোগী মানুষ; আমরা আপনাদের এই সুসমাচার জানাতে এসেছি যে, এই সব অসার বস্তু থেকে জীবন্ত ঈশ্বরের কাছে আসুন, যিনি আকাশ, পৃথিবী, সমুদ্র, ও সমুদ্রের মধ্যে যা কিছু আছে সে সমস্তই সৃষ্টি করেছেন।
16 who in the generations gone by allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways.
১৬তিনি অতীতে পুরুষ পরম্পরা অনুযায়ী সমস্ত জাতিকে তাদের ইচ্ছামত চলতে দিয়েছেন;
17 Yet he did not leave himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you rains from the sky and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”
১৭কিন্তু তবুও তিনি নিজেকে প্রকাশিত রাখলেন, তিনি মঙ্গল করেছেন, আকাশ থেকে আপনাদের বৃষ্টি এবং ফল উৎপন্নকারী ঋতু দিয়ে ফসল দিয়েছেন ও আনন্দে আপনাদের হৃদয় পরিপূর্ণ করেছেন।
18 Even saying these things, they hardly stopped the multitudes from making a sacrifice to them.
১৮এই সব কথা বলে পৌল এবং বার্ণবা অনেক কষ্টে তাঁদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলি উৎসর্গ করা থেকে লোকেদের থামালেন।
19 But some Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there, and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.
১৯কিন্তু আন্তিয়খিয়া ও ইকনিয় থেকে কয়েক জন যিহূদী এলো; তারা লোকেদের ইন্ধন দিল এবং লোকেরা পৌলকে পাথর মারলো এবং তাঁকে শহরের বাইরে টেনে নিয়ে গেল, কারণ তারা মনে করল, তিনি মারা গেছেন।
20 But as the disciples stood around him, he rose up, and entered into the city. On the next day he went out with Barnabas to Derbe.
২০কিন্তু শিষ্যরা তাঁর চারিদিকে ঘিরে দাঁড়াতে তিনি উঠে শহরের মধ্যে প্রবেশ করলেন। পরে তিনি বার্ণবার সঙ্গে দর্বী শহরে চলে গেলেন।
21 When they had preached the Good News to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,
২১তাঁরা সেই শহরে সুসমাচার প্রচার করলেন এবং অনেক লোক প্রভুর শিষ্য হলো। তাঁরা লুস্ত্রা থেকে ইকনিয়ে, ও আন্তিয়খিয়ায় ফিরে গেলেন;
22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must enter into God’s Kingdom.
২২তাঁরা সেই অঞ্চলের শিষ্যদের প্রাণে শক্তি যোগালেন এবং তাদের ভরসা দিলেন, যেন তারা বিশ্বাসে স্থির থাকে। এবং তাঁরা তাদের বললেন আমাদের অনেক কষ্টের মধ্য দিয়ে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে প্রবেশ করতে হবে।
23 When they had appointed elders for them in every assembly, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord on whom they had believed.
২৩যখন তাঁরা তাদের জন্য প্রত্যেক মণ্ডলীতে প্রাচীনদের নিয়োগ করলেন এবং উপবাস ও প্রার্থনা করলেন এবং যারা প্রভুকে বিশ্বাস করেছিলেন তাদের প্রভুর হাতে সমর্পণ করলেন।
24 They passed through Pisidia and came to Pamphylia.
২৪পরে তাঁরা পিষিদিয়ার দেশের মধ্যে দিয়ে গিয়ে পাম্ফুলিয়া দেশে পৌঁছালেন।
25 When they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.
২৫এর পরে তাঁরা পর্গাতে ঈশ্বরের বাক্য প্রচার করে অত্তালিয়াতে চলে গেলেন;
26 From there they sailed to Antioch, from where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they had fulfilled.
২৬এবং সেখান থেকে জাহাজে করে আন্তিয়খিয়ায় চলে গেলেন, যে কাজ তাঁরা শেষ করলেন, সেই কাজের জন্য বিশ্বাসীরা তাঁদের এই স্থানেই ঈশ্বরের অনুগ্রহের কাছে নিজেদের সমর্পণ করেছিলেন।
27 When they had arrived and had gathered the assembly together, they reported all the things that God had done with them, and that he had opened a door of faith to the nations.
২৭তাঁরা যখন ফিরে আসলেন, ও মণ্ডলীকে এক করলেন এবং ঈশ্বর তাঁদের দিয়ে যে সমস্ত কাজ করেছিলেন ও কিভাবে অযিহূদীর লোকেদের জন্য বিশ্বাসের দরজা খুলে দিয়েছেন, সে সব কথা তাদের বিস্তারিত জানালেন।
28 They stayed there with the disciples for a long time.
২৮পরে তাঁরা বিশ্বাসীদের সঙ্গে অনেকদিন সেখানে থাকলেন।
