Acts 10
1 Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment,
১কৈসরিয়া নগরে কর্নীলিয় নামে একজন লোক ছিলেন, তিনি ইতালির সৈন্যদলের শতপতি ছিলেন।
2 a devout man, and one who feared God with all his house, who gave gifts for the needy generously to the people, and always prayed to God.
২তিনি ঈশ্বরভক্ত এবং পরিবারের সকলের সঙ্গে ঈশ্বরকে ভয় করতেন, অনেক লোককে প্রচুর পরিমাণে দান করতেন এবং সব দিন ই ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করতেন।
3 At about the ninth hour of the day, he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God coming to him and saying to him, “Cornelius!”
৩এক দিন প্রায় দুপুর তিনটের দিন কর্নীলিয় একটি দর্শন দেখতে পেয়েছিলেন যে ঈশ্বরের এক দূত তার কাছে ভিতরে এসে বললেন কর্নীলিয়,
4 He, fastening his eyes on him and being frightened, said, “What is it, Lord?” He said to him, “Your prayers and your gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial before God.
৪তখন কর্নীলিয় তাঁর প্রতি একভাবে তাকিয়ে ভয়ের সঙ্গে বললেন প্রভু কি চান? দূত তাঁকে বললেন তোমার প্রার্থনা ও তোমার দান সকল স্মারক নৈবেদ্য হিসাবে স্বর্গে ঈশ্বরের সামনে উপস্থিত হয়েছে,
5 Now send men to Joppa, and get Simon, who is also called Peter.
৫এখন তুমি যাফোতে লোক পাঠাও এবং শিমোন যাকে পিতর বলে, তাকে ডেকে আন।
6 He is staying with a tanner named Simon, whose house is by the seaside.
৬তিনি শিমোন নামে একজন মুচির বাড়িতে আছেন, তাঁর বাড়িটি সমুদ্রের ধারে,
7 When the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually.
৭কর্নীলিয়র সঙ্গে যে দূত কথা বলেছিলেন তিনি চলে যাবার পর কর্নীলিয় বাড়ির চাকরদের মধ্যে দুজনকে এবং যারা সব দিন ই তাঁর সেবা করত, তাদের একজন ভক্ত সেনাকে ডাকলেন,
8 Having explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.
৮আর তাদের সব কথা বলে যাফোতে পাঠালেন।
9 Now on the next day as they were on their journey and got close to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray at about noon.
৯পরের দিন তারা পথ ধরে যেতে যেতে যখন নগরের কাছে হাজির হলেন, তখন পিতর ছাদের উপরে প্রার্থনা করার জন্য উঠলেন অনুমান দুপুর বারোটার দিন।
10 He became hungry and desired to eat, but while they were preparing, he fell into a trance.
১০তিনি ক্ষুধার্ত হলেন এবং কিছু খেতে চাইলেন। কিন্তু যখন লোকেরা খাবার তৈরি করছিল, এমন দিনের তিনি অভিভূত হয়ে পড়লেন,
11 He saw heaven opened and a certain container descending to him, like a great sheet let down by four corners on the earth,
১১আর দেখলেন, আকাশ খুলে গেছে এবং একটি বড় চাদর নেমে আসছে তার চারটি কোন ধরে পৃথিবীতে নামিয়ে দেওয়া হচ্ছে;
12 in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, reptiles, and birds of the sky.
১২আর তার মধ্যে পৃথিবীর সব রকমের পশু, সরীসৃপ এবং আকাশের পাখীরা আছে।
13 A voice came to him, “Rise, Peter, kill and eat!”
১৩পরে তাঁর প্রতি আকাশ থেকে এই বাণী হলো ওঠ পিতর, “মার এবং খাও।”
14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”
১৪কিন্তু পিতর বললেন, প্রভু এমন না হোক; আমি কোনওদিন কোনোও অপবিত্র ও অশুচি বস্তু খাইনি।
15 A voice came to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean.”
১৫তখন দ্বিতীয়বার আবার এই বাণী হল, ঈশ্বর যা শুচি করেছেন, তুমি তা অপবিত্র বলও না,
16 This was done three times, and immediately the thing was received up into heaven.
১৬এই ভাবে তিনবার হলো, পরে আবার ঐ চাদরটি আকাশে উঠে গেল।
17 Now while Peter was very perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon’s house, stood before the gate,
১৭পিতর যে দর্শন পেয়েছিলেন, তার অর্থ কি হতে পারে, এই বিষয়ে মনে মনে ভাবছিলেন ঠিক সেই দিনের দেখো, কর্নীলিয়ের প্রেরিত লোকেরা শিমোনের বাড়ির খোঁজ করে দরজার কাছে এসে দাঁড়ালো,
18 and called and asked whether Simon, who was also called Peter, was lodging there.
১৮আর ডেকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলো, শিমোন যাকে পিতর বলে, তিনি কি এখানে থাকেন?
19 While Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men seek you.
১৯পিতর সেই দর্শনের বিষয়ে ভাবছিলেন, এমন দিনের আত্মা বলল, দেখো তিনজন লোক তোমার খোঁজ করছে।
20 But arise, get down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.”
২০কিন্তু তুমি উঠে নীচে যাও, তাদের সঙ্গে যাও, কোনও সন্দেহ করো না কারণ আমিই তাদের পাঠিয়েছি।
21 Peter went down to the men, and said, “Behold, I am he whom you seek. Why have you come?”
২১তখন পিতর সেই লোকেদের কাছে নেমে গিয়ে বললেন, দেখো তোমরা যার খোঁজ করছো, আমি সেই ব্যক্তি, তোমরা কি জন্য এসেছ?
22 They said, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears God, and well spoken of by all the nation of the Jews, was directed by a holy angel to invite you to his house, and to listen to what you say.”
২২তারা বলল, একজন শতপতি কর্নীলিয় নামে পরিচিত, একজন ধার্মিক লোক, যিনি ঈশ্বরকে ভয় করেন এবং সমস্ত যিহূদী জাতির মধ্যে বিখ্যাত, তিনি পবিত্র দূতের দ্বারা এমন আদেশ পেয়েছেন, যেন আপনাকে ডেকে নিজ বাড়িতে এনে আপনার মুখের কথা শোনেন।
23 So he called them in and provided a place to stay. On the next day Peter arose and went out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.
২৩তখন পিতর তাদের ভিতরে ডেকে এনে তাদের সেবা করলেন। পরদিন উঠে তিনি তাদের সঙ্গে গেলেন, আর যাফোত নিবাসী ভাইদের মধ্যে কিছু জন তাদের সঙ্গে গেল।
24 On the next day they entered into Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his relatives and his near friends.
২৪পরের দিন তারা কৈসরিয়াতে প্রবেশ করলেন; তখন কর্নীলিয় নিজের লোকদের ও বন্ধুদের এক জায়গায় ডেকে তাদের অপেক্ষা করছিলেন।
25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet, and worshiped him.
২৫পরে পিতর যখন প্রবেশ করলেন, সেই দিন কর্নীলিয় তার সঙ্গে দেখা করে তাঁর পায়ে পড়ে প্রণাম করলেন।
26 But Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up! I myself am also a man.”
২৬কিন্তু পিতর তাঁকে তুললেন, বললেন উঠুন; আমি নিজেও একজন মানুষ।
27 As he talked with him, he went in and found many gathered together.
২৭তারপর পিতর কর্নীলিয়ের সঙ্গে আলাপ করতে করতে প্রবেশ করে দেখলেন, অনেক লোক জমা হয়েছে।
28 He said to them, “You yourselves know how it is an unlawful thing for a man who is a Jew to join himself or come to one of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any man unholy or unclean.
২৮তখন তিনি তাদের বললেন, আপনারা জানেন, অন্য জাতির সঙ্গে যোগ দেওয়া অথবা তার কাছে আসা যিহূদী লোকের পক্ষে নিয়মের বাইরে; কিন্তু আমাকে ঈশ্বর দেখিয়েছেন যে, কোনোও মানুষকে অধার্ম্মিক অথবা অশুচি বলা উচিত নয়।
29 Therefore I also came without complaint when I was sent for. I ask therefore, why did you send for me?”
২৯এই জন্য আমাকে ডেকে পাঠানো হলে আমি কোনোও আপত্তি না করেই এসেছি; এখন জিজ্ঞাসা করি, আপনারা কি কারণে আমাকে ডেকে পাঠিয়েছেন?
30 Cornelius said, “Four days ago, I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour, I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing
৩০তখন কর্নীলিয় বললেন, আজ চার দিন হলো, আমি এই দিন পর্যন্ত নিজের ঘরের মধ্যে বেলা অনুমান তিনটের দিন প্রার্থনা করছিলাম, সেই দিন একজন পুরুষ তেজোময় পোশাক পরে আমার সামনে দাঁড়ালেন;
31 and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your gifts to the needy are remembered in the sight of God.
৩১তিনি বললেন, কর্নীলিয়, তোমার প্রার্থনা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে এবং তোমার দান সকল ঈশ্বরের সামনে স্মরণ করা হয়েছে।
32 Send therefore to Joppa and summon Simon, who is also called Peter. He is staying in the house of a tanner named Simon, by the seaside. When he comes, he will speak to you.’
৩২অতএব যাফোতে লোক পাঠিয়ে শিমোন যাকে পিতর বলে, তাঁকে ডেকে আনো; সে সমুদ্রের ধারে শিমোন মুচির বাড়িতে আছেন।
33 Therefore I sent to you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God to hear all things that have been commanded you by God.”
৩৩এই জন্যে আমি সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আপনার কাছে লোক পাঠিয়ে দিলাম; আপনি এসেছেন ভালোই করেছেন, অতএব এখন আমরা সকলে ঈশ্বরের সাক্ষাৎে উপস্থিত আছি; প্রভু আপনাকে যেসকল আদেশ করেছেন, তা শুনবো।
34 Peter opened his mouth and said, “Truly I perceive that God does not show favoritism;
৩৪তাঁর পর পিতর তার মুখ খুলে তাদের বলতে লাগলেন সত্যি আমি বুঝতে পারলাম যে ঈশ্বর কারোও মুখচেয়ে বিচার করেন না।
35 but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.
৩৫কিন্তু সব জাতির মধ্যে যে কেউ তাঁকে ভয় করে ও ধর্মাচরণ করে, ঈশ্বর তাকে গ্রহণ করেন।
36 The word which he sent to the children of Israel, preaching good news of peace by Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all—
৩৬তোমরা জন যে তিনি ইস্রায়েলের লোকেদের কাছে একটি বাক্য ঘোষণা করেছেন; যখন তিনি যীশু খ্রীষ্টের মাধ্যমে শান্তির সুসমাচার প্রচার করেছেন; যিনি সকলের প্রভু।
37 you yourselves know what happened, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
৩৭আপনারা সকলে এই ঘটনা জানেন, যা যোহনের দ্বারা প্রচারিত বাপ্তিষ্মের পর গালীল থেকে শুরু হয়ে সমগ্র যিহূদীয়া প্রদেশে ছড়িয়ে পড়ল;
38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
৩৮ফলতঃ নাসরতীয় যীশুর কথা, কীভাবে ঈশ্বর তাঁকে পবিত্র আত্মাতে ও শক্তিতে অভিষিক্ত করেছিলেন; ভালো কাজ করে বেড়াতেন এবং শয়তান দ্বারা পীড়িত সমস্ত লোককে সুস্থ করতেন; কারণ ঈশ্বর তাঁর সঙ্গে ছিলেন।
39 We are witnesses of everything he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they also killed, hanging him on a tree.
৩৯আর তিনি ইহুদীদের জনপদে ও যিরুশালেমে যা যা করেছেন, সেই সকলের সাক্ষী; আবার লোকে তাঁকে ক্রুশে টাঙিয়ে হত্যা করল।
40 God raised him up the third day and gave him to be revealed,
৪০তাঁকে ঈশ্বর তৃতীয় দিনের ওঠালেন, প্রমাণ করে দেখালেন সমস্ত লোকের কাছে এমন নয়,
41 not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen before by God, to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
৪১কিন্তু পূর্বে ঈশ্বরের দ্বারা মনোনীত সাক্ষীদের, অর্থাৎ আমাদের দেখা দিলেন, আর মৃতদের মধ্য থেকে তাঁর পুনরুত্থান হলে পর তাঁর সঙ্গে আমরা ভোজন ও পান করলাম।
42 He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that this is he who is appointed by God as the Judge of the living and the dead.
৪২আর তিনি নির্দেশ করলেন, যেন আমরা লোকদের কাছে প্রচার করি ও সাক্ষ্য দিই যে, ইনিই সেই ব্যক্তি যাকে ঈশ্বর জীবিত ও মৃতদের বিচারকর্ত্তা নিযুক্ত করেছেন।
43 All the prophets testify about him, that through his name everyone who believes in him will receive remission of sins.”
৪৩তাঁর পক্ষে সকল ভবিষ্যৎ বক্তারা এই সাক্ষ্য দেন, যে কেউ তাঁকে বিশ্বাস করে, সে তাঁর নামের গুণে পাপের ক্ষমা পাবে।
44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the word.
৪৪পিতর এই কথা বলছেন ঠিক সেই দিনের যত লোক বাক্য শুনছিল, প্রত্যেকের উপরে পবিত্র আত্মা নেমে এলেন।
45 They of the circumcision who believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the Gentiles.
৪৫তখন পিতরের সঙ্গে আসা বিশ্বাসী ছিন্নত্বক লোক সব আর্শ্চয্য হলেন, কারণ অযিহুদিদের উপরেও পবিত্র আত্মারূপ দান দেওয়া হলো;
46 For they heard them speaking in other languages and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,
৪৬কারণ তারা তাদের নানা ভাষায় কথা বলতে ও ঈশ্বরের মহিমা কীর্তন করতে শুনলেন। তখন পিতর উত্তর করে বললেন,
47 “Can anyone forbid these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just like us.”
৪৭“এই যে লোকেরা আমাদের মতই পবিত্র আত্মা পেয়েছ, কেউ কি এদের জলে বাপ্তিষ্ম দিতে বাধা দিতে পারে?”
48 He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay some days.
৪৮পরে তিনি তাদের যীশু খ্রীষ্টের নামে বাপ্তিষ্ম দেবার আদেশ দিলেন। তখন তারা কিছুদিন তাকে থাকতে অনুরোধ করলেন।
