2 Samuel 24
1 Again the LORD’s anger burned against Israel, and he moved David against them, saying, “Go, count Israel and Judah.”
১পাছত ইস্ৰায়েলৰ বিৰুদ্ধে যিহোৱাৰ ক্ৰোধ পুনৰায় জ্বলি উঠিল আৰু তেওঁলোকৰ বিৰুদ্ধে দায়ূদৰ প্ৰবৃত্তি জন্মাই তেওঁ ক’লে, “ইস্ৰায়েল আৰু যিহূদাক গৈ গণনা কৰা”।
2 The king said to Joab the captain of the army, who was with him, “Now go back and forth through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, and count the people, that I may know the sum of the people.”
২তাতে ৰজাই তেওঁৰ ওচৰত থকা প্ৰধান সেনাপতি যোৱাবক ক’লে, “মই ইস্ৰায়েলৰ লোকসকলৰ সংখ্যা জানিবৰ বাবে, তুমি দানৰে পৰা বেৰ-চেবালৈকে ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সকলো ফৈদৰ মাজত যোৱা আৰু তোমালোকে লোকসকলক গণনা কৰা।”
3 Joab said to the king, “Now may the LORD your God add to the people, however many they may be, one hundred times; and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king delight in this thing?”
৩তেতিয়া যোৱাবে ৰজাক ক’লে, “এতিয়া যিমান লোক আছে, আপোনাৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই তাৰ এশ গুণ বৃদ্ধি কৰক আৰু মোৰ প্ৰভু মহাৰাজে তাক চকুৰে চাওক; কিন্তু মোৰ প্ৰভু মহাৰাজে এনে কাৰ্যত কিয় সন্তোষ পাইছে?”
4 Notwithstanding, the king’s word prevailed against Joab and against the captains of the army. Joab and the captains of the army went out from the presence of the king to count the people of Israel.
৪তথাপি যোৱাব আৰু সেনাপতিসকলৰ আগত ৰজাৰ বাক্য প্ৰবল হ’ল; তাতে যোৱাব আৰু সেনাপতিসকলে ইস্ৰায়েলৰ লোকসকলক গণনা কৰিবলৈ ৰজাৰ আগৰ পৰা গ’ল।
5 They passed over the Jordan and encamped in Aroer, on the right side of the city that is in the middle of the valley of Gad, and to Jazer;
৫পাছত তেওঁলোকে যৰ্দ্দন পাৰ হৈ অৰোয়েৰৰ মাজত থকা নগৰ খনৰ সোঁফালে ছাউনি পাতিলে; আৰু তেওঁলোকে গাদ ও যাজেৰলৈকে গ’ল।
6 then they came to Gilead and to the land of Tahtim Hodshi; and they came to Dan Jaan and around to Sidon,
৬তাৰ পাছত তেওঁলোকে গিলিয়দ আৰু দানযানলৈ গৈ ঘুৰি আহি চীদোনলৈ গ’ল।
7 and came to the stronghold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the Hivites and of the Canaanites; and they went out to the south of Judah, at Beersheba.
৭তেওঁলোকে তূৰ দুৰ্গলৈ গ’ল আৰু হিব্বীয়া ও কনানীয়াসকলৰ সকলো নগৰলৈও গ’ল; আৰু শেষত তেওঁলোকে আহি যিহূদাৰ দক্ষিণ অঞ্চল বেৰ-চেবাত উপস্থিত হ’ল।
8 So when they had gone back and forth through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.
৮এইদৰে তেওঁলোকে দেশৰ সকলো ঠাইতে ফুৰি ন মাহ বিশ দিনৰ মুৰত যিৰূচালেমলৈ উভটি আহিল।
9 Joab gave up the sum of the counting of the people to the king; and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.
৯পাছত যোৱাবে গণনা কৰা লোকসকলৰ সংখ্যা ৰজাৰ ওচৰত আনি দিলে; তাৰ মুঠ, ইস্ৰায়েলৰ তৰোৱাল ধৰোঁতা আঠ লাখ বলৱান লোক, আৰু যিহূদাৰ পাঁচ লাখ লোক।
10 David’s heart struck him after he had counted the people. David said to the LORD, “I have sinned greatly in that which I have done. But now, the LORD, put away, I beg you, the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly.”
১০এইদৰে দায়ূদে লোকসকলক গণনা কৰোঁৱাৰ পাছত, তেওঁৰ মনে তেওঁক দোষী কৰিলে। তেতিয়া দায়ূদে যিহোৱাক ক’লে, “এই কৰ্ম কৰি মই মহা পাপ কৰিলোঁ; কিন্তু হে যিহোৱা বিনয় কৰোঁ, নিজ দাসৰ অপৰাধ ক্ষমা কৰা, কিয়নো মই অতিশয় অজ্ঞানৰ কৰ্ম কৰিলোঁ।”
11 When David rose up in the morning, the LORD’s word came to the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying,
১১দায়ুদ ৰাতিপুৱাতে উঠিল, দায়ূদৰ দৰ্শক গাদ ভাববাদী ওচৰলৈ যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য আহিল, বোলে,
12 “Go and speak to David, ‘The LORD says, “I offer you three things. Choose one of them, that I may do it to you.”’”
১২“তুমি গৈ দায়ূদক কোৱা: ‘যিহোৱাই এই কথা কৈছে, মই তোমাৰ আগত তিনিটা দণ্ড ৰাখিছো; তাৰ মাজৰ এটা বাচি লোৱা, মই তাকেই তোমালৈ কৰিম’।”
13 So Gad came to David, and told him, saying, “Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or will you flee three months before your foes while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days’ pestilence in your land? Now answer, and consider what answer I shall return to him who sent me.”
১৩তাতে গাদে দায়ূদৰ ওচৰলৈ গৈ তেওঁক ক’লে, “তোমাৰ দেশত সাত বছৰ আকাল হ’ব লাগে নে? বা তোমাৰ শত্ৰুবোৰ পাছে পাছে খেদি যাওঁতে, তুমি সিহঁতৰ আগে আগে তিনি মাহলৈকে পলাই থাকিবা? নাইবা দেশত তিনি দিনলৈকে মহামাৰী হ’ব? এতিয়া মোক পঠোৱা জনাক মই কি উত্তৰ দিম, তাক এতিয়াই বিবেচনা কৰি চোৱা।”
14 David said to Gad, “I am in distress. Let us fall now into the LORD’s hand, for his mercies are great. Let me not fall into man’s hand.”
১৪তাতে দায়ূদে গাদক ক’লে, “মই বৰ ঠেকত পৰিছোঁ৷ আমি যিহোৱাৰ হাতত পৰা ভাল, কিয়নো তেওঁৰ দয়া প্ৰচুৰ, কিন্তু মোক মানুহৰ হাতত পৰিবলৈ নিদিয়ক।”
15 So the LORD sent a pestilence on Israel from the morning even to the appointed time; and seventy thousand men died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba.
১৫গতিকে সেই ৰাতিপুৱাৰে পৰা নিৰূপিত সময়লৈকে যিহোৱাই ইস্ৰায়েললৈ মহামাৰী পঠিয়ালে; তাতে দানৰে পৰা বেৰ-চেবালৈকে সত্তৰ হাজাৰ লোকৰ মৃত্যু হ’ল।
16 When the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD relented of the disaster, and said to the angel who destroyed the people, “It is enough. Now withdraw your hand.” The LORD’s angel was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
১৬পাছত যেতিয়া দূতে যিৰূচালেমক বিনষ্ট কৰিবলৈ তাৰ ফাললৈ হাত মেলিলে, তেতিয়া যিহোৱাই সেই আপদৰ বাবে খেদ কৰি সংহাৰক দূতক ক’লে, “এয়ে জুৰিছে! এতিয়া তোমাৰ হাত কোঁচোৱা।” সেই সময়ত যিহোৱা সেই দূত যিবুচীয়া অৰৌণাৰ মৰণা মৰা খলাৰ ওচৰত আছিল।
17 David spoke to the LORD when he saw the angel who struck the people, and said, “Behold, I have sinned, and I have done perversely; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand be against me, and against my father’s house.”
১৭পাছত যি দূতে সংহাৰ কৰিছিল, দায়ূদে সেই দূতক দেখি যিহোৱাক ক’লে “মইহে পাপ কৰিলোঁ, মইহে অপৰাধী হলোঁ; কিন্তু এই মেৰ-ছাগবোৰে কি কৰিলে? মই বিনয় কৰোঁ, তোমাৰ হাত মোৰেই বিৰুদ্ধে আৰু মোৰ পিতৃ-বংশৰ বিৰুদ্ধে হওক!”
18 Gad came that day to David and said to him, “Go up, build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.”
১৮সেই দিনা গাদে দায়ূদৰ ওচৰলৈ আহি তেওঁক ক’লে, “তুমি উঠি গৈ যিবুচীয়া অৰৌণাত মৰণা মৰা খলাত যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশে এটা যজ্ঞবেদী স্থাপন কৰাগৈ।”
19 David went up according to the saying of Gad, as the LORD commanded.
১৯তাতে যিহোৱাৰ আজ্ঞা অনুসাৰে গাদৰ নিৰ্দেশ মানি দায়ুদ উঠি গ’ল।
20 Araunah looked out, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him. Then Araunah went out and bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.
২০পাছত অৰৌণাই চাই দেখিলে যে, তেওঁৰ ফালে ৰজা আৰু তেওঁৰ দাসবোৰ আহি আছে, তাতে অৰৌণাই আহি ৰজাৰ আগত মাটিত উবুৰি হৈ প্ৰণিপাত কৰিলে।
21 Araunah said, “Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” David said, “To buy your threshing floor, to build an altar to the LORD, that the plague may be stopped from afflicting the people.”
২১আৰু অৰৌণাই ক’লে, “মোৰ প্ৰভু মহাৰাজৰ নিজৰ দাসৰ ওচৰলৈ কি কাৰণে আহিল?” দায়ূদে ক’লে, “লোকসকলৰ মাজৰ পৰা মহামাৰী গুচিবৰ বাবে যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে এটা যজ্ঞবেদী নিৰ্ম্মাণ কৰিবৰ অৰ্থে মই তোমাৰ পৰা এই মৰণা মৰা খলা কিনিবলৈ আহিছোঁ।”
22 Araunah said to David, “Let my lord the king take and offer up what seems good to him. Behold, the cattle for the burnt offering, and the threshing sledges and the yokes of the oxen for the wood.
২২তেতিয়া অৰৌণাই দায়ূদক ক’লে, “মোৰ প্ৰভু মহাৰাজৰ দৃষ্টিত যি ভাল হয়, তাকে লৈ উৎসৰ্গ কৰক; চাওঁক, হোম-বলিৰ বাবে এই গৰুবোৰ আৰু খৰিৰ বাবে মৰণা মৰা যন্ত্ৰ আৰু গৰুবোৰৰ যুৱঁলি আছে৷
23 All this, O king, does Araunah give to the king.” Araunah said to the king, “May the LORD your God accept you.”
২৩হে মহাৰাজ অৰৌণাই মহাৰাজক এই সকলোকে দিছে।” অৰৌণাই ৰজাক পুনৰ ক’লে, “আপোনাৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই আপোনাক গ্ৰহণ কৰক।”
24 The king said to Araunah, “No, but I will most certainly buy it from you for a price. I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God which cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.
২৪ৰজাই অৰৌণাক ক’লে, “সেয়ে হ’ব নোৱাৰে, মই মূল্য দি তোমাৰ পৰা সকলো কিনিহে লম; মই নিজ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশে বিনামূল্যে হোম-বলি উৎসৰ্গ নকৰোঁ।” এই বুলি দায়ূদে পঞ্চাশ চেকল ৰূপ দি, সেই মৰণা মৰা খলা আৰু গৰুবোৰ কিনি ল’লে।
25 David built an altar to the LORD there, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was entreated for the land, and the plague was removed from Israel.
২৫আৰু দায়ূদে সেই ঠাইতে যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে এটা যজ্ঞবেদী নিৰ্ম্মাণ কৰি, হোম-বলি আৰু মঙ্গলাৰ্থক বলি উৎসৰ্গ কৰিলে। তাতে যিহোৱাই দেশৰ পক্ষে প্ৰাৰ্থনা শুনিলে আৰু ইস্ৰায়েলৰ পৰা মহামাৰী গুচিল।
