2 Chronicles 27

1 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jerushah the daughter of Zadok.

Fünfundzwanzig Jahre war Jotham alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte sechzehn Jahre zu Jerusalem; und der Name seiner Mutter war Jeruscha, die Tochter Zadoks.

2 He did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, according to all that his father Uzziah had done. However he did not enter into the LORD’s temple. The people still acted corruptly.

Und er tat, was recht war in den Augen Jehovas, nach allem, was sein Vater Ussija getan hatte; nur ging er nicht in den Tempel Jehovas. Aber das Volk handelte noch verderbt.

3 He built the upper gate of the LORD’s house, and he built much on the wall of Ophel.

Er baute das obere Tor des Hauses Jehovas; auch an der Mauer des Ophel baute er viel.

4 Moreover he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and in the forests he built fortresses and towers.

Und er baute Städte im Gebirge Juda; und in den Wäldern baute er Burgen und Türme.

5 He also fought with the king of the children of Ammon, and prevailed against them. The children of Ammon gave him the same year one hundred talents of silver, ten thousand cors of wheat, and ten thousand cors of barley. The children of Ammon also gave that much to him in the second year, and in the third.

Und er stritt mit dem König der Kinder Ammon und überwand sie; und die Kinder Ammon gaben ihm in selbigem Jahre hundert Talente Silber und zehntausend Kor Weizen und zehntausend Kor Gerste. Das entrichteten ihm die Kinder Ammon auch im zweiten und im dritten Jahre.

6 So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before the LORD his God.

Und Jotham erstarkte; denn er richtete seine Wege vor dem Angesicht Jehovas, seines Gottes.

7 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars and his ways, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

Und das Übrige der Geschichte Jothams, und alle seine Kriege und seine Wege, siehe, sie sind geschrieben in dem Buche der Könige von Israel und Juda.

8 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.

Fünfundzwanzig Jahre war er alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte sechzehn Jahre zu Jerusalem.

9 Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in David’s city; and Ahaz his son reigned in his place.

Und Jotham legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn in der Stadt Davids. Und Ahas, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
