1 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the assembly of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Pablo y Silvano y Timoteo, a la Iglesia de los tesalonicenses, en Dios Padre y en el Señor Jesucristo: gracia a vosotros y paz.

2 We always give thanks to God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers,

Siempre damos gracias a Dios por todos vosotros, haciendo sin cesar memoria de vosotros en nuestras oraciones.

3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and perseverance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father.

Nos acordamos ante Dios y Padre nuestro de la obra de vuestra fe, y del trabajo de vuestra caridad, y de la paciencia de vuestra esperanza en nuestro Señor Jesucristo,

4 We know, brothers loved by God, that you are chosen,

porque conocemos, hermanos amados de Dios, vuestra elección.

5 and that our Good News came to you not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we showed ourselves to be among you for your sake.

Pues nuestro Evangelio llegó a vosotros no solamente en palabras, sino también en poder, y en el Espíritu Santo, y con toda plenitud, y así bien sabéis cuáles fuimos entre vosotros por amor vuestro.

6 You became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,

Vosotros os hicisteis imitadores nuestros y del Señor, recibiendo la palabra en medio de grande tribulación con gozo del Espíritu Santo;

7 so that you became an example to all who believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.

de modo que llegasteis a ser un ejemplo para todos los fieles de Macedonia y de Acaya.

8 For from you the word of the Lord has been declared, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone out, so that we need not to say anything.

Así es que desde vosotros ha repercutido la Palabra del Señor, no solo por Macedonia y Acaya, sino que en todo lugar la fe vuestra, que es para con Dios, se ha divulgado de tal manera que nosotros no tenemos necesidad de decir palabra.

9 For they themselves report concerning us what kind of a reception we had from you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God,

Pues ellos mismos cuentan de nosotros cuál fue nuestra llegada a vosotros, y cómo os volvisteis de los ídolos a Dios para servir al Dios vivo y verdadero,

10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead: Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.

y esperar de los cielos a su Hijo, a quien Él resucitó de entre los muertos: Jesús, el que nos libra de la ira venidera.
