1 Corinthians 6
1 Dare any of you, having a matter against his neighbor, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?
Osez-vous bien, quand vous avez une affaire entre vous, en appeler au jugement des païens et non à celui des fidèles?
2 Do not you know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
Ne savez-vous pas que les fidèles jugeront le monde? Et si le monde doit être jugé par vous, seriez-vous incapables de rendre des jugements de moindre importance?
3 Do not you know that we will judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?
Ne savez-vous pas que nous jugerons des anges? Et nous ne jugerions pas des questions d'intérêt!
4 If then you have to judge things pertaining to this life, do you set them to judge who are of no account in the assembly?
Quand vous avez entre vous des questions d'intérêt, vous vous adressez à ceux que l'Église méprise; et vous les constituez Juges!
5 I say this to move you to shame. Is not there even one wise man among you who would be able to decide between his brothers?
Ainsi, je le dis à votre honte, il n'y a pas parmi vous un seul homme intelligent qui soit capable d'être juge entre ses frères!
6 But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers!
Mais un frère est en procès avec un frère et cela devant des infidèles!
7 Therefore it is already altogether a defect in you that you have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?
C'est déjà un bien grand dommage que vous ayez des procès entre vous. Pourquoi ne souffrez-vous pas plutôt l'injustice? Pourquoi ne vous laissez-vous pas plutôt dépouiller?
8 No, but you yourselves do wrong and defraud, and that against your brothers.
mais c'est vous-mêmes qui êtes injustes, spoliateurs, et cela envers des frères!
9 Or do not you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,
Ne savez-vous donc pas que les injustes ne seront point héritiers du Royaume de Dieu? Ne vous y trompez pas: ni impurs, ni idolâtres, ni adultères, ni débauchés efféminés et infâmes,
10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.
ni voleurs, ni rapaces, ni ivrognes, ni calomniateurs, ni avares ne seront héritiers du Royaume de Dieu!
11 Some of you were such, but you were washed. You were sanctified. You were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.
Et cela vous l'étiez, quelques-uns, mais vous. avez été purifiés; mais vous avez été sanctifiés; mais vous avez été justifiés, au nom du Seigneur Jésus-Christ et par l'Esprit de notre Dieu!
12 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.
«Tout m'est permis», — mais tout n'est pas opportun. «Tout m'est permis», — mais, moi, je ne me laisserai dominer par rien.
13 “Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods,” but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
Les aliments sont pour l'estomac et l'estomac pour les aliments, mais Dieu mettra fin à l'un comme aux autres. Le corps n'est pas pour l'impureté, mais pour le Seigneur et le Seigneur pour le corps.
14 Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power.
Dieu a ressuscité le Seigneur et il nous ressuscitera aussi par sa puissance.
15 Do not you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be!
Ne savez-vous pas que vos corps sont membres de Christ? Arracherai-je donc les membres du Christ, pour en faire les membres d'une prostituée?
16 Or do not you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, “The two”, he says, “will become one flesh.”
A Dieu ne plaise! Ne savez-vous pas que celui qui s'unit à une prostituée est un même corps avec elle? car il est dit: «Ils seront deux dans une chair.»
17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.
Celui qui s'unit au Seigneur est un même esprit avec lui.
18 Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
Fuyez l'impureté! Tout autre péché que l'homme commette, se fait hors du corps; celui qui se livre à l'impureté pèche contre son propre corps.
19 Or do not you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,
Ne savez-vous pas que vos corps sont le temple du saint Esprit qui est en vous, et que vous tenez de Dieu, et que vous n'êtes plus à vous-mêmes?
20 for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
Car vous avez été achetés à un grand prix. Glorifiez donc Dieu dans vos corps.
