< 1 Corinthians 10 >

1 Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
Anuanom, mepɛ sɛ metwe mo adwene ba nsɛm a ɛtoo yɛn nenanom a wodii Mose akyi no so. Omununkum bɔɔ wɔn nyinaa ho ban maa wɔn nyinaa faa Po Kɔkɔɔ no mu asomdwoe mu.
2 and were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
Wɔbɔɔ wɔn nyinaa asu sɛ Mose akyidifo wɔ omununkum ne po no mu.
3 and all ate the same spiritual food;
Wɔn nyinaa dii honhom fam aduan
4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.
na wɔnom honhom fam anonne. Wɔnom honhom botan a na ɔne wɔn nam no mu nsu; na saa ɔbotan no yɛ Kristo no ankasa.
5 However with most of them, God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
Eyinom nyinaa akyi no, na Onyankopɔn ani nsɔ wɔn mu pii, enti na wɔn amu guguu basaa wɔ sare no so hɔ.
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.
Mprempren, eyinom nyinaa yɛ nhwɛso ma yɛn na ɛbɔ yɛn kɔkɔ nso sɛ, ɛnsɛ sɛ yedi bɔne akyi sɛnea wɔyɛɛ no,
7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”
na ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛsom ahoni sɛnea wɔn mu bi yɛe no. Sɛnea Kyerɛwsɛm no ka se, “Nnipa no tenaa ase, didi nomee, na wogoruu abosongoru, yɛɛ ahuhude.”
8 Let’s not commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.
Ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛbɔ aguaman, sɛnea wɔn mu bi yɛe no na da koro wɔn mu mpem aduonu abiɛsa wuwui no.
9 Let’s not test Christ, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents.
Ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛsɔ Awurade hwɛ sɛnea wɔn mu bi yɛ maa awɔ kekaa wɔn kunkum wɔn no.
10 Do not grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and perished by the destroyer.
Ɛnsɛ sɛ munwiinwii sɛnea wɔn mu bi yɛ maa ɔsɛe bɔfo sɛe wɔn no.
11 Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages (aiōn g165) have come.
Eyinom nyinaa baa wɔn so de yɛɛ nhwɛso maa afoforo. Na wɔkyerɛw guu hɔ sɛ kɔkɔbɔ maa yɛn. Efisɛ yɛte hɔ sɛ ɛrenkyɛ na bere no aba awiei. (aiōn g165)
12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he does not fall.
Obiara a osusuw sɛ ogyina hɔ no, ɔnhwɛ yiye na wanhwe ase.
13 No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Sɔhwɛ biara a aba wʼakwan mu no yɛ nea ɛba nnipa akwan mu. Esiane sɛ Onyankopɔn di ne bɔhyɛ so nti, ɔremma ho kwan mma sɔhwɛ a ɛboro wʼahoɔden so nto wo. Sɛ sɔhwɛ ba wo so a ɔbɛma wo ahoɔden ama woatumi agyina ano na woanya ho nyansa nso.
14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
Enti me nnamfo pa, montwe mo ho mfi ahonisom ho.
15 I speak as to wise men. Judge what I say.
Mekasa kyerɛ mo sɛ anyansafo. Asɛm a meka no mummua mfa.
16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is not it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is not it a sharing of the body of Christ?
Sɛ yɛnom kuruwa a wɔahyira so no ano a, na ɛnyɛ Kristo mogya ayɔnkofa no ana? Brodo a yebubu mu no nso, sɛ yedi a, na ɛnyɛ Kristo nipadua ayɔnkoyɛ ana?
17 Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread.
Esiane sɛ brodo no yɛ baako na yedi no wɔ ɔhonam koro mu nti, ɛwɔ mu sɛ yɛdɔɔso de, nanso yɛn nyinaa yɛ nnipa baako.
18 Consider Israel according to the flesh. Do not those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar?
Monhwɛ Israelman. Wɔn a wodi afɔre aduan no ne afɔremuka no wɔ ayɔnkoyɛ.
19 What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?
Mibisa se, afɔrebɔde a wɔde ama ohoni no yɛ biribi anaa ohoni no na ɔyɛ biribi?
20 But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not desire that you would have fellowship with demons.
Dabi, asɛm a mereka ne sɛ, nea wɔde abɔ afɔre wɔ ɔbosonsomni afɔremuka so no, wɔde ama ahonhommɔne na ɛnyɛ Onyankopɔn. Mempɛ sɛ mode mo ho bɛhyehyɛ ahonhommɔne.
21 You cannot both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot both partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons.
Morentumi nnom Awurade kuruwa ano na monsan nnom ahonhommɔne kuruwa ano. Saa ara na morentumi nnidi wɔ Awurade pon so na monsan nnidi wɔ ahonhommɔne pon nso so.
22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
Anaa mopɛ sɛ yɛma Awurade twe ninkunu? Yegye di sɛ yɛyɛ den sen no ana?
23 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are profitable. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things build up.
Wɔka se, “Woama yɛn ho kwan sɛ yɛnyɛ biribiara a yɛyɛ.” Nanso ɛnyɛ biribiara na eye. “Wɔama yɛn ho kwan sɛ yɛnyɛ biribiara.” Nanso ɛnyɛ biribiara na etumi boa yɛn.
24 Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good.
Ɛnsɛ sɛ obiara pɛ ne nko ne yiyedi na mmom, ɛsɛ sɛ ɔhwehwɛ afoforo nso yiyedi.
25 Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience,
Tiboa nti mutumi tɔ biribiara a wɔtɔn wɔ gua so di a mummisa ho asɛm biara.
26 for “the earth is the Lord’s, and its fullness.”
Efisɛ Kyerɛwsɛm no ka se, “Asase ne nea ɛwɔ so nyinaa yɛ Awurade dea.”
27 But if one of those who do not believe invites you to a meal, and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no questions for the sake of conscience.
Obi a ɔnyɛ ogyidini frɛ wo adidi na woyɛ wʼadwene sɛ wobɛkɔ a, tiboa nti, aduan a ɔde bɛma wo biara no, di a wummisa ho asɛm biara.
28 But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” do not eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience. For “the earth is the Lord’s, with all its fullness.”
Nanso sɛ obi ka kyerɛ wo se, “Wɔde saa aduan yi maa ahoni” a, esiane nea ɔbɔɔ wo saa amanneɛ no tiboa nti, nni saa aduan no.
29 Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other’s conscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience?
Ɛno nyɛ wo tiboa, na ɛyɛ onipa a ɔbɔɔ wo saa amanneɛ no tiboa. Obi bebisa se, “Adɛn nti na obi tiboa siw mʼahofadi ho kwan?
30 If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced for something I give thanks for?
Sɛ meda Awurade ase wɔ mʼaduan ho a, adɛn nti na aduan a mada ho ase no obi ka ho asɛm?”
31 Whether therefore you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Biribiara a mobɛyɛ no, sɛ moredidi o, sɛ morenom o, monyɛ mfa nhyɛ Onyankopɔn anuonyam.
32 Give no occasion for stumbling, whether to Jews, to Greeks, or to the assembly of God;
Monnyɛ biribiara mfa nhaw Yudafo anaa amanamanmufo anaa Onyankopɔn asafo.
33 even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.
Monyɛ sɛnea meyɛ no. Mema obiara ani gye nea meyɛ ho a minnwen mʼankasa me yiyedi ho, na mmom midwen yɛn nyinaa yiyedi ho sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a wobegye wɔn nkwa.
