< Psalms 121 >

1 I will lift up my eyes to the mountains. From where shall my help come?

Cantique graduel. Je lève mes yeux vers les montagnes: d'où me viendra le secours?

2 My help is from Jehovah, who made heaven and earth.

Le secours me viendra de l'Éternel, créateur des Cieux et de la terre.

3 He will not allow thy foot to be moved. He who keeps thee will not slumber.

Il ne permettra pas que ton pied bronche, ton gardien ne sommeille pas.

4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

Voici, Il ne dort pas, ne sommeille pas, le gardien d'Israël.

5 Jehovah is thy keeper. Jehovah is thy shade upon thy right hand.

L'Éternel est ton gardien, l'Éternel est ton abri, à ta droite.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

Le jour, le soleil ne te portera pas ses coups, non plus que la lune pendant la nuit.

7 Jehovah will keep thee from all evil. He will keep thy soul.

L'Éternel te préservera de tout mal, Il gardera ton âme.

8 Jehovah will keep thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and for evermore.

Que tu entres, que tu sortes, l'Éternel te gardera, dès maintenant jusqu'à l'éternité.
