Luke 24
1 And on the first day of the week, very early morning, they came to the sepulcher bringing the spices that they prepared, and some women with them.
mais le premier jour de la semaine, dès l'aube, elles vinrent au sépulcre portant les aromates qu'elles avaient préparés.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher.
Mais elles trouvèrent la pierre déplacée de devant le sépulcre,
3 And having entered in, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
et étant entrées elles ne trouvèrent pas le corps du seigneur Jésus.
4 And it came to pass while they were bewildered about this, that behold, two men stood near them in shining apparel.
Et il advint, pendant qu'elles ne savaient qu'en penser, que voici, deux hommes se présentèrent à elles, vêtus d'un habit étincelant;
5 And since they became frightened and bowing down their face to the ground, they said to them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
et, comme elles étaient saisies de crainte et abaissaient leurs visages vers la terre, ils leur dirent: « Pourquoi cherchez-vous parmi les morts celui qui est vivant?
6 He is not here, but was raised. Remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee,
Il n'est pas ici, mais il est ressuscité; souvenez-vous de la manière dont il vous a parlé lorsqu'il était encore en Galilée,
7 saying that the Son of man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day to rise.
disant du fils de l'homme: il faut qu'il soit livré aux mains des hommes pécheurs, et qu'il soit crucifié, et qu'il ressuscite le troisième jour. »
8 And they remembered his sayings.
Et elles se souvinrent de ses paroles,
9 And having returned from the sepulcher, they reported all these things to the eleven, and to all the others.
et s'étant éloignées du sépulcre elles rapportèrent toutes ces choses aux onze et aux autres;
10 Now they were Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles.
or c'étaient la Magdalène Marie, et Jeanne, et Marie mère de Jacques; et les autres qui étaient avec elles disaient les mêmes choses aux apôtres,
11 And their sayings appeared before them as idle talk, and they disbelieved them.
et ces paroles leur parurent du radotage, et ils ne les en croyaient pas.
12 But having risen, Peter ran to the sepulcher. And having stooped down, he sees the linen cloths laying alone. And he departed, wondering to himself at that which happened.
Mais Pierre s'étant levé courut au sépulcre, et s'étant courbé il vit les linges seuls; et il s'en retourna, émerveillé en lui-même de ce qui était advenu.
13 And behold, two of them were going the same day to a village that was sixty furlongs away from Jerusalem, which name was Emmaus.
Et voici, deux d'entre eux se rendaient le même jour dans un village éloigné de soixante stades de Jérusalem, et nommé Emmaous;
14 And they conversed with each other about all these things that happened.
et ils causaient ensemble de tous ces événements.
15 And it came to pass, while they conversed and discussed, that Jesus himself also having approached, went along with them.
Et il advint, pendant qu'ils causaient et discutaient, que Jésus s'étant approché cheminait avec eux,
16 But their eyes were held, not to recognize him.
mais leurs yeux étaient offusqués de manière à ne le pas reconnaître.
17 And he said to them, What are these words that ye toss back to each other, while walking and are looking sad.
Mais il leur dit: « Quels sont ces discours que vous échangez entre vous, tout en marchant? » Et ils demeurèrent tout chagrins.
18 And one, whose name was Cleopas, having answered, said to him, Thou only visit Jerusalem and do not know the things that happened in it during these days?
Mais l'un d'eux, nommé Cléopas, lui répliqua: « Séjournes-tu seul à Jérusalem, que tu n'aies pas eu connaissance des choses qui s'y sont passées ces jours-ci? »
19 And he said to them, What? And they said to him, The things about Jesus the Nazarene, who became a prophet, a mighty man in work and word before God and all the people,
Et il leur dit: « Lesquelles? » Or ils lui dirent: « Celles qui concernent Jésus le Nazarénien, qui fut un prophète puissant en œuvres et en paroles devant Dieu et devant tout le peuple,
20 and how our chief priests and rulers delivered him up for condemnation of death, and crucified him.
et comme quoi nos grands prêtres et nos chefs l'ont livré pour être condamné à mort, et l'ont crucifié,
21 But we hoped that he is the man who is going to redeem Israel. But even with all these things, it brings this third day today from which time these things happened.
tandis que nous, nous espérions qu'il était celui qui doit racheter Israël. Mais avec tout cela, voici le troisième jour depuis que ces choses ont eu lieu;
22 But also some of our women astonished us, having come to be at the sepulcher early morning.
et de plus quelques femmes d'entre nous nous ont mis hors de nous-mêmes, car, s'étant rendues de grand matin au sépulcre,
23 And not having found his body, they came, saying also to have seen a vision of agents who say he is alive.
et n'ayant pas trouvé le corps, elles sont venues nous dire en outre qu'elles avaient vu une apparition d'anges qui disent qu'il est vivant;
24 And some of those with us went to the sepulcher, and found it this way, just as also the women said, but they did not see him.
et quelques-uns de nos compagnons sont allés au sépulcre, et ont trouvé les choses telles que les femmes les avaient dites, mais quant à lui ils ne l'ont point vu. »
25 And he said to them, O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets spoke.
Et lui-même leur dit: « O hommes sans intelligence, et dont le cœur est lent à croire tout ce dont ont parlé les prophètes!
26 Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory?
Ne fallait-il pas que le Christ soutînt ces choses, et qu'il entrât dans sa gloire? »
27 And having begun from Moses and from all the prophets, he expounded to them in all the scriptures the things about himself.
Et ayant commencé depuis Moïse et depuis tous les prophètes, il leur interpréta dans toutes les écritures ce qui le concernait.
28 And they came near to the village where they were going, and he pretended to go further.
Et ils approchèrent du village où ils se rendaient, et lui-même feignit de se rendre plus loin;
29 And they constrained him, saying, Remain with us, because it is toward evening, and the day has declined. And he went in to remain with them.
et ils le retinrent de force, en disant: « Reste avec nous; car voici le soir, et le jour a déjà baissé. » Et il entra pour rester avec eux.
30 And it came to pass during his dining with them, that, having taken the bread, he blessed, and having broken in pieces he gave to them.
Et il advint, au moment où il se mit à table avec eux, qu'ayant pris le pain il prononça une bénédiction, et après l'avoir rompu il le leur distribuait.
31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he became invisible from them.
Mais leurs yeux s'ouvrirent et ils le reconnurent, et lui-même devint invisible pour eux;
32 And they said to each other, Was not our heart burning within us while he spoke to us on the way, while he opened to us the scriptures?
et ils se dirent l'un à l'autre: « Est-ce que notre cœur ne brûlait pas quand il nous parlait en chemin, quand il nous expliquait les écritures? »
33 And having risen up the same hour, they returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven gathered together,
Et s'étant levés sur l'heure même, ils retournèrent à Jérusalem, et trouvèrent réunis les onze et leurs compagnons,
34 and those who were with them who said, The Lord really was raised, and was seen by Simon.
qui disaient: « Le Seigneur est réellement ressuscité, et il s'est fait voir à Simon. »
35 And they reported the things on the road, and how he was made known to them during the breaking of the bread.
Et eux-mêmes racontaient ce qui leur était arrivé en chemin, et comment il avait été reconnu par eux à la fraction du pain.
36 And as they spoke these things, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and says to them, Peace to you.
Or, pendant qu'ils parlaient ainsi, lui-même se présenta au milieu d'eux, et leur dit: « Paix pour vous! »
37 But having been startled, and having become frightened, they presumed to see a spirit.
Mais saisis d'épouvante et de crainte ils s'imaginaient voir un esprit;
38 And he said to them, Why are ye troubled, and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
et il leur dit: « Pourquoi êtes-vous troublés, et pourquoi des pensées montent-elles dans votre cœur?
39 See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Handle me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as ye see me having.
Voyez mes mains et mes pieds, car c'est bien moi-même; touchez-moi et voyez; car un esprit n'a ni chair ni os comme vous voyez que je les ai. »
40 And having said this, he displayed to them his hands and feet.
Et en disant cela il leur montra ses mains et ses pieds.
41 And while they still disbelieved from joy and wondering, he said to them, Have ye anything to eat here?
Mais, comme dans leur joie ils doutaient encore et étaient émerveillés, il leur dit: « Avez–vous ici quelque chose à manger? »
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish and from a bees honeycomb.
Or ils lui servirent une portion de poisson rôti;
43 And having taken it, he ate before them.
et l'ayant prise, il mangea devant eux.
44 And he said to them, These are the words that I spoke to you while still being with you, that it is necessary for all things that are written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms about me to be fulfilled.
Mais il leur dit: « Ce sont ici les paroles que je vous ai adressées pendant que j'étais encore avec vous, vous disant qu'il fallait que fussent accomplies toutes les choses écrites à mon sujet dans la loi de Moïse, et dans les prophètes, et dans les psaumes. »
45 Then he opened their mind to understand the scriptures.
Alors il leur ouvrit l'esprit pour comprendre les écritures,
46 And he said to them, Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day,
et il leur dit: « C'est ainsi qu'il a été écrit que le Christ souffrirait, et qu'il ressusciterait des morts le troisième jour,
47 and to proclaim in his name repentance and remission of sins for all the nations, having begun from Jerusalem.
et que la repentance en vue de la rémission des péchés serait prêchée en son nom à toutes les nations, en commençant par Jérusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
C'est vous qui êtes témoins de ces choses,
49 And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you. But stay ye in the city until ye are clothed with power from on high.
et voici, moi, j'envoie sur vous la promesse de mon Père, mais, pour vous, demeurez dans la ville jusques à ce que vous ayez été revêtus d'une puissance venue d'en haut. »
50 And he led them outside as far as to Bethany, and having lifted up his hands, he blessed them.
Et il les conduisit hors de la ville jusques à Béthanie, et ayant élevé ses mains il les bénit.
51 And it came to pass while he blessed them, he parted from them, and was brought up into heaven.
Et il advint, pendant qu'il les bénissait, qu'il se sépara d'eux; et il était enlevé au ciel;
52 And having worshiping him, they returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
et eux, après l'avoir adoré, retournèrent à Jérusalem avec joie;
53 and they were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Truly.
et'ils étaient constamment dans le temple occupés à bénir Dieu. Amen!
