Luke 24
1 And on the first day of the week, very early morning, they came to the sepulcher bringing the spices that they prepared, and some women with them.
Le premier jour de la semaine, à l'aube, elles se rendirent au tombeau avec d'autres personnes, apportant les aromates qu'elles avaient préparés.
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher.
Elles trouvèrent la pierre roulée devant le tombeau.
3 And having entered in, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
Elles entrèrent, et ne trouvèrent pas le corps du Seigneur Jésus.
4 And it came to pass while they were bewildered about this, that behold, two men stood near them in shining apparel.
Comme elles étaient fort perplexes à ce sujet, voici que deux hommes se tenaient près d'elles, vêtus de vêtements éblouissants.
5 And since they became frightened and bowing down their face to the ground, they said to them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
Saisies d'épouvante, elles se prosternèrent le visage contre terre. Les hommes leur dirent: « Pourquoi cherchez-vous le vivant parmi les morts?
6 He is not here, but was raised. Remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee,
Il n'est pas ici, mais il est ressuscité. Souvenez-vous de ce qu'il vous a dit, lorsqu'il était encore en Galilée,
7 saying that the Son of man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day to rise.
à savoir que le Fils de l'homme doit être livré aux mains des hommes pécheurs, être crucifié, et ressusciter le troisième jour. »
8 And they remembered his sayings.
Elles se souvinrent de ses paroles,
9 And having returned from the sepulcher, they reported all these things to the eleven, and to all the others.
revinrent du sépulcre, et racontèrent toutes ces choses aux onze et à tous les autres.
10 Now they were Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles.
Il s'agissait de Marie de Magdala, de Jeanne et de Marie, mère de Jacques. Les autres femmes qui étaient avec elles racontèrent ces choses aux apôtres.
11 And their sayings appeared before them as idle talk, and they disbelieved them.
Ces paroles leur parurent insensées, et ils ne les crurent pas.
12 But having risen, Peter ran to the sepulcher. And having stooped down, he sees the linen cloths laying alone. And he departed, wondering to himself at that which happened.
Mais Pierre se leva et courut au tombeau. Il se baissa et regarda à l'intérieur; il vit les bandes de lin étendues toutes seules, et il s'en alla chez lui, se demandant ce qui était arrivé.
13 And behold, two of them were going the same day to a village that was sixty furlongs away from Jerusalem, which name was Emmaus.
Voici que, ce même jour, deux d'entre eux se rendaient dans un village nommé Emmaüs, situé à soixante stades de Jérusalem.
14 And they conversed with each other about all these things that happened.
Ils s'entretenaient entre eux de toutes ces choses qui étaient arrivées.
15 And it came to pass, while they conversed and discussed, that Jesus himself also having approached, went along with them.
Comme ils discutaient et s'interrogeaient ensemble, Jésus lui-même s'approcha et fit route avec eux.
16 But their eyes were held, not to recognize him.
Mais leurs yeux étaient empêchés de le reconnaître.
17 And he said to them, What are these words that ye toss back to each other, while walking and are looking sad.
Il leur dit: « De quoi parlez-vous en marchant, et êtes-vous tristes? »
18 And one, whose name was Cleopas, having answered, said to him, Thou only visit Jerusalem and do not know the things that happened in it during these days?
L'un d'eux, nommé Cléopas, lui répondit: « Es-tu le seul étranger à Jérusalem qui ne sache pas ce qui s'y est passé ces jours-ci? »
19 And he said to them, What? And they said to him, The things about Jesus the Nazarene, who became a prophet, a mighty man in work and word before God and all the people,
Il leur dit: « Quelles choses? » Ils lui dirent: « Ce qui concerne Jésus le Nazaréen, qui était un prophète puissant en actes et en paroles devant Dieu et devant tout le peuple,
20 and how our chief priests and rulers delivered him up for condemnation of death, and crucified him.
et comment les principaux sacrificateurs et nos chefs l'ont livré pour être condamné à mort et l'ont crucifié.
21 But we hoped that he is the man who is going to redeem Israel. But even with all these things, it brings this third day today from which time these things happened.
Mais nous espérions que c'était lui qui rachèterait Israël. Oui, et en plus de tout cela, cela fait maintenant le troisième jour que ces choses sont arrivées.
22 But also some of our women astonished us, having come to be at the sepulcher early morning.
De plus, certaines femmes de notre compagnie nous ont étonnés, étant arrivées de bonne heure au tombeau;
23 And not having found his body, they came, saying also to have seen a vision of agents who say he is alive.
et n'ayant pas trouvé son corps, elles sont venues dire qu'elles aussi avaient eu une vision d'anges, qui disaient qu'il était vivant.
24 And some of those with us went to the sepulcher, and found it this way, just as also the women said, but they did not see him.
Quelques-uns d'entre nous allèrent au tombeau et le trouvèrent comme les femmes l'avaient dit, mais ils ne le virent pas. »
25 And he said to them, O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets spoke.
Il leur dit: « Peuple insensé, et lent de cœur à croire à tout ce que les prophètes ont annoncé!
26 Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory?
Le Christ n'a-t-il pas dû souffrir ces choses et entrer dans sa gloire? »
27 And having begun from Moses and from all the prophets, he expounded to them in all the scriptures the things about himself.
Partant de Moïse et de tous les prophètes, il leur expliqua dans toutes les Écritures ce qui le concernait.
28 And they came near to the village where they were going, and he pretended to go further.
Ils s'approchèrent du village où ils allaient, et il fit comme s'il voulait aller plus loin.
29 And they constrained him, saying, Remain with us, because it is toward evening, and the day has declined. And he went in to remain with them.
Ils le pressèrent en disant: « Reste avec nous, car le soir vient de tomber, et le jour est presque fini. » Il entra pour rester avec eux.
30 And it came to pass during his dining with them, that, having taken the bread, he blessed, and having broken in pieces he gave to them.
Après s'être mis à table avec eux, il prit le pain et rendit grâce. Il le rompit et le leur donna.
31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he became invisible from them.
Leurs yeux s'ouvrirent et ils le reconnurent; puis il disparut de leur vue.
32 And they said to each other, Was not our heart burning within us while he spoke to us on the way, while he opened to us the scriptures?
Ils se dirent les uns aux autres: « Notre cœur ne brûlait-il pas au-dedans de nous pendant qu'il nous parlait en chemin et qu'il nous ouvrait les Écritures? »
33 And having risen up the same hour, they returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven gathered together,
Ils se levèrent à l'heure même, retournèrent à Jérusalem, et trouvèrent les onze réunis, ainsi que ceux qui étaient avec eux,
34 and those who were with them who said, The Lord really was raised, and was seen by Simon.
en disant: « Le Seigneur est vraiment ressuscité, et il est apparu à Simon. »
35 And they reported the things on the road, and how he was made known to them during the breaking of the bread.
Ils racontèrent ce qui s'était passé en chemin, et comment ils l'avaient reconnu à la fraction du pain.
36 And as they spoke these things, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and says to them, Peace to you.
Comme ils disaient cela, Jésus lui-même se présenta au milieu d'eux et leur dit: « La paix soit avec vous. »
37 But having been startled, and having become frightened, they presumed to see a spirit.
Mais ils furent épouvantés et remplis de crainte, et ils supposèrent qu'ils avaient vu un esprit.
38 And he said to them, Why are ye troubled, and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
Il leur dit: « Pourquoi êtes-vous troublés? Pourquoi des doutes s'élèvent-ils dans vos cœurs?
39 See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Handle me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as ye see me having.
Voyez mes mains et mes pieds, que c'est vraiment moi. Touchez-moi et voyez, car un esprit n'a pas de chair et d'os, comme vous voyez que j'en ai. »
40 And having said this, he displayed to them his hands and feet.
Après avoir dit cela, il leur montra ses mains et ses pieds.
41 And while they still disbelieved from joy and wondering, he said to them, Have ye anything to eat here?
Comme ils ne croyaient pas encore de joie et qu'ils étaient dans l'étonnement, il leur dit: « Avez-vous ici quelque chose à manger? »
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish and from a bees honeycomb.
Ils lui donnèrent un morceau de poisson grillé et du rayon de miel.
43 And having taken it, he ate before them.
Il les prit, et mangea en leur présence.
44 And he said to them, These are the words that I spoke to you while still being with you, that it is necessary for all things that are written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms about me to be fulfilled.
Il leur dit: « C'est ce que je vous ai dit quand j'étais encore avec vous, qu'il fallait que s'accomplisse tout ce qui est écrit de moi dans la loi de Moïse, dans les prophètes et dans les psaumes. »
45 Then he opened their mind to understand the scriptures.
Alors il leur ouvrit l'esprit, afin qu'ils comprissent les Écritures.
46 And he said to them, Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day,
Il leur dit: « Ainsi il est écrit, et ainsi il était nécessaire que le Christ souffrît et ressuscitât des morts le troisième jour,
47 and to proclaim in his name repentance and remission of sins for all the nations, having begun from Jerusalem.
et que la repentance et le pardon des péchés fussent prêchés en son nom à toutes les nations, à commencer par Jérusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
Vous êtes témoins de ces choses.
49 And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you. But stay ye in the city until ye are clothed with power from on high.
Voici que j'envoie sur vous la promesse de mon Père. Mais attendez dans la ville de Jérusalem que vous soyez revêtus de la puissance d'en haut. »
50 And he led them outside as far as to Bethany, and having lifted up his hands, he blessed them.
Il les conduisit jusqu'à Béthanie, puis, levant les mains, il les bénit.
51 And it came to pass while he blessed them, he parted from them, and was brought up into heaven.
Pendant qu'il les bénissait, il se retira d'eux et fut emporté au ciel.
52 And having worshiping him, they returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
Ils se prosternèrent devant lui et retournèrent à Jérusalem avec une grande joie,
53 and they were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Truly.
et ils étaient continuellement dans le temple, louant et bénissant Dieu. Amen.
