Luke 23
1 And having risen, the whole company of them led him to Pilate.
இதற்கு பின்பு கூடியிருந்த முழுக்கூட்டமும் எழுந்து, இயேசுவைப் பிலாத்துவிடம் கொண்டுசென்றார்கள்.
2 And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this man perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying himself to be Christ, a king.
அங்கே அவர்கள், “இவன் மக்களை கிளர்ச்சியில் ஈடுபடுத்த முயன்றதை நாங்கள் கண்டோம். ரோமப் பேரரசனாகிய சீசருக்கு வரி செலுத்துவதை இவன் எதிர்க்கிறான். தன்னைக் கிறிஸ்து எனப்பட்ட அரசன் என்றும் சொல்லிக்கொள்கிறான்” என்று, அவர்மேல் குற்றம் சாட்டினார்கள்.
3 And Pilate questioned him, saying, Are thou the king of the Jews? And having answered him, he said, Thou say.
எனவே பிலாத்து இயேசுவிடம், “நீ யூதருடைய அரசனா?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு இயேசு, “ஆம், நீர் சொல்கிறபடியேதான்” என்றார்.
4 And Pilate said to the chief priests and the multitudes, I find nothing guilty in this man.
பிலாத்து தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களையும், கூடியிருந்த மக்களையும் பார்த்து, “இவனுக்கு விரோதமாய் குற்றம் சாட்டுவதற்கான ஆதாரம் எதையும் நான் காணவில்லை” என்றான்.
5 But they were emphatic, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, having begun from Galilee as far as here.
ஆனால் அவர்களோ, “இவன் தனது போதனையினாலே, யூதேயா முழுவதிலுமுள்ள மக்களைக் கலகப்படுத்துகிறான். இவன் கலிலேயா தொடங்கி, இங்கு வரை வந்துவிட்டான்” என்றார்கள்.
6 And when Pilate heard Galilee, he questioned if the man is a Galilean.
அதைக்கேட்ட பிலாத்து, “இவன் கலிலேயனா?” என்றான்.
7 And when he perceived that he is from Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was himself also in Jerusalem in these days.
இயேசு ஏரோதுவின் அதிகாரத்துக்கு உட்பட்டவர் என்று அவன் அறிந்தபோது, அவன் இயேசுவை ஏரோதுவினிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பிவைத்தான். அவ்வேளையில், ஏரோதுவும் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்திருந்தான்.
8 Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad, for he was wanting of a considerable time to see him, because of hearing many things about him, and he hoped to see some sign happening by him.
ஏரோது இயேசுவைக் கண்டபோது, மிகவும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டான். ஏனெனில், நீண்டகாலமாக அவன் அவரைப் பார்க்க விரும்பியிருந்தான். அவன் இயேசுவைக்குறித்துக் கேள்விப்பட்டிருந்ததினால், அவரால் செய்யப்படும் சில அற்புதங்களைப் பார்க்க விரும்பினான்.
9 And he interrogated him in considerable words, but he answered him nothing.
அவன் இயேசுவிடம் அநேக கேள்விகளைக் கேட்டான். ஆனால் இயேசுவோ அவனுக்கு ஒரு பதிலும் சொல்லவில்லை.
10 And the chief priests and the scholars had stood, vehemently accusing him.
தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களும், மோசேயின் சட்ட ஆசிரியரும் அங்கே நின்று ஆவேசத்தோடு குற்றம் சாட்டினார்கள்.
11 But Herod having disdained him with his soldiers, and having mocked him, having arraying him in a bright robe, he sent him back to Pilate.
அப்பொழுது ஏரோதுவும், அவனுடைய படைவீரரும் அவரை அவமதித்து, அவரைக் கேலி செய்தார்கள். அவர்கள் இயேசுவுக்கு அலங்காரமான ஒரு மேலுடையை உடுத்தி, அவரைத் திரும்பவும் பிலாத்துவிடம் அனுப்பினார்கள்.
12 And both Pilate and Herod became friends with each other on the same day, for they were formerly being at enmity toward themselves.
அன்று முதல் ஏரோதுவும், பிலாத்துவும் நண்பர்களாயினர். அதற்குமுன், அவர்கள் இருவரும் பகைவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்.
13 And Pilate having called together the chief priests, and the rulers, and the people,
பிலாத்து தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களையும், ஆட்சியாளர்களையும், மக்களையும் ஒன்றாகக் கூப்பிட்டு,
14 said to them, Ye brought this man to me as turning away the people. And behold, I, having examined him before you, found nothing guilty in this man of what ye accuse against him.
அவர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் இந்த மனிதனை, மக்களை கிளர்ச்சி செய்யத் தூண்டும் ஒருவனாக என்னிடம் கொண்டுவந்தீர்கள். உங்கள் முன்பாகவே அவனை விசாரித்தேன். ஆனால், அவனுக்கு விரோதமாக நீங்கள் சாட்டும் குற்றத்திற்கான ஆதாரம் எதையும் நான் காணவில்லை.
15 But not even Herod, for I sent you back to him, and lo, nothing having been done by him is worthy of death.
ஏரோதுவும் குற்றம் காணவில்லை. ஏனெனில், நீங்கள் காண்கிறபடி ஏரோது இவனை நம்மிடத்திற்கே திருப்பி அனுப்பியிருக்கிறார். மரண தண்டனை பெற்றுக்கொள்ளத்தக்க குற்றம் எதையும் இவன் செய்யவில்லை.
16 Therefore, having scourged I will release him.
எனவே, நான் இவனைத் தண்டித்து, விடுதலையாக்குவேன்” என்றான்.
17 Now he had need to release one man to them at every feast.
பண்டிகையின்போது, வழக்கத்தின்படி யாராவது ஒருவனை மக்களுக்கு விடுதலைசெய்ய வேண்டியிருந்தது.
18 But they cried out all together, saying, Take away this man, and release to us Barabbas
அவர்களோ ஒரே குரலில், “இவன் வேண்டாம்! பரபாஸை எங்களுக்கு விடுதலையாக்கும்” என்று சத்தமிட்டார்கள்.
19 (a man who was cast into prison because of a certain insurrection that occurred in the city, and for murder).
பரபாஸ் என்பவனோ பட்டணத்தில் கிளர்ச்சி செய்ததற்காகவும், கொலைசெய்ததற்காகவும் சிறையில் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தான்.
20 Again therefore Pilate called out wanting to release Jesus,
பிலாத்து இயேசுவை விடுதலைசெய்ய விரும்பி, அவர்களிடம் மீண்டும் பேசினான்.
21 but they shouted, saying, Crucify, crucify him.
ஆனால் அவர்களோ, “அவனைச் சிலுவையில் அறையும்! அவனைச் சிலுவையில் அறையும்!” என்று சத்தமிட்டார்கள்.
22 And he said to them a third time, For what evil did this man do? I have found nothing guilty of death in him. I will therefore, having scourged, release him.
மூன்றாவது முறையும் பிலாத்து அவர்களிடம் பேசி, “ஏன், இவன் என்ன குற்றம் செய்தான்? இவனுக்கு மரண தண்டனை விதிப்பதற்கான ஆதாரம் எதையும் நான் காணவில்லை. ஆகவே, நான் இவனைத் தண்டித்து, விடுதலையாக்குவேன்” என்றான்.
23 But they were relentless with loud voices demanding him to be crucified. And their voices and those of the chief priests prevailed.
ஆனால் அவர்களோ, “அவன் சிலுவையில் அறையப்படவே வேண்டும்” என்று உரத்த சத்தமாய் வற்புறுத்திக் கேட்டார்கள். அவர்களுடைய சத்தமே மேற்கொண்டது.
24 And Pilate decreed their request to happen.
பிலாத்துவும், அவர்கள் கேட்டபடியே செய்யத் தீர்மானித்தான்.
25 And he released the man who had been cast into prison because of insurrection and murder, whom they asked for, but he delivered Jesus to their will.
எனவே, அவர்கள் கேட்டுக்கொண்டபடியே, கிளர்ச்சி செய்ததற்காகவும், கொலைசெய்ததற்காகவும் சிறையில் போடப்பட்டிருந்த பரபாஸை பிலாத்து விடுதலை செய்தான்; இயேசுவையோ, அவர்கள் விருப்பத்தின்படி செய்வதற்காக ஒப்படைத்தான்.
26 And when they led him away, having taken hold of a certain Simon, a Cyrenian coming from the countryside, they laid the cross on him to bring behind Jesus.
அவர்கள் இயேசுவைக் கூட்டிக் கொண்டுபோகையில், நாட்டுப் புறத்திலிருந்து அவ்வழியே, சிரேனே ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த சீமோன் வந்துகொண்டிருந்தான். அவர்கள் அவனைப் பிடித்து, சிலுவையை அவன்மேல் வைத்து, இயேசுவுக்குப் பின்னாக அதைச் சுமந்துபோகும்படி செய்தார்கள்.
27 And a great multitude of the people followed him, and also of women who bewailed and lamented him.
அதிக எண்ணிக்கையான மக்கள் கூட்டம், அவருக்குப் பின்னே சென்றார்கள். அவர்களில் சிலர், இயேசுவுக்காக அழுது புலம்பிக் கொண்டிருந்த பெண்களும் இருந்தார்கள்.
28 But having turning to them, Jesus said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, instead weep for yourselves and for your children.
இயேசு அவர்களைத் திரும்பிப்பார்த்து, “எருசலேமின் பெண்களே, எனக்காக அழவேண்டாம்; நீங்கள் உங்களுக்காகவும், உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்காகவுமே அழுங்கள்.
29 Because, behold, the days are coming, during which they will say, Blessed are the barren, and the bellies that gave no birth, and the breasts that did not suckle.
ஏனெனில், ‘மலடியாய் இருக்கிற பெண்கள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள்; குழந்தையைப் பிரசவிக்காதவர்களும், குழந்தைக்குப் பால் கொடுக்காதவர்களும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள்’ என்று சொல்லும் காலம் வரும்.
30 Then they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us, and to the hills, Cover us.
“‘அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் மலைகளைப் பார்த்து, “எங்கள்மேல் விழுங்கள்!” என்றும், குன்றுகளைப் பார்த்து, “எங்களை மூடுங்கள்!”’ என்றும் சொல்வார்கள்.
31 Because if they do these things in the green tree, what will happen in the dry?
ஏனெனில், மரம் பச்சையாய் இருக்கும்போதே, இவர்கள் இப்படிச் செய்வார்களானால், அது காய்ந்து போகும்போது, என்னதான் செய்யமாட்டார்கள்?” என்றார்.
32 And two other men, malefactors, were also led with him to be executed.
குற்றவாளிகளான வேறு இரண்டுபேரையும், மரணதண்டனைக்காக இயேசுவுடனேகூட கொண்டுபோனார்கள்.
33 And when they came to the place called Skull, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one at the right hand and the other at the left.
அவர்கள் மண்டையோடு என்ற இடத்திற்கு வந்தபோது, அங்கே இயேசுவைச் சிலுவையில் அறைந்தார்கள். அந்தக் குற்றவாளிகளில், ஒருவனை அவருடைய வலதுபக்கத்திலும், மற்றவனை அவருடைய இடது பக்கத்திலுமாக சிலுவைகளில் அறைந்தார்கள்.
34 And Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing. And dividing his garments, they cast a lot.
அப்பொழுது இயேசு, “பிதாவே, இவர்களை மன்னியும், தாங்கள் செய்வது இன்னதென்று அறியாதிருக்கிறார்களே” என்றார். படைவீரர்கள் சீட்டுப்போட்டு அவருடைய உடைகளைப் பங்கிட்டுக்கொண்டார்கள்.
35 And the people had stood watching. And also the rulers with them sneered, saying, He saved others. He should save himself, if this is the Christ, the chosen of God.
மக்கள் இதைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டு நின்றார்கள். அதிகாரிகள், “இவன் மற்றவர்களை இரட்சித்தான்; இவன் இறைவனால் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட, அவருடைய கிறிஸ்துவாய் இருந்தால், தன்னைத்தானே இரட்சித்துக் கொள்ளட்டும்” என்று சொல்லி, ஏளனம் செய்தார்கள்.
36 And the soldiers also mocked him, approaching, and bringing him vinegar,
படைவீரர்களும் அவரை ஏளனம் செய்தார்கள். அவர்கள் இயேசுவுக்கு புளித்த திராட்சை இரசத்தைக் கொடுத்து,
37 and saying, If thou are the king of the Jews, save thyself.
“நீ யூதருடைய அரசனாய் இருந்தால், உன்னை நீயே விடுவித்துக்கொள்” என்றார்கள்.
38 And there was also an inscription over him written in letters, in Greek and Latin and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
அவருக்கு மேலாக ஒரு அறிவிப்புப் பலகை இருந்தது, அதில் இப்படி எழுதியிருந்தது. இவர் யூதருடைய அரசன்.
39 And one of the malefactors who were hanged railed him, saying, If thou are the Christ, save thyself and us.
அங்கே தொங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த குற்றவாளிகளில் ஒருவன், “நீர் கிறிஸ்து அல்லவா? உன்னையும், எங்களையும் விடுவியும்” என்று அவரை இகழ்ந்தான்.
40 But the other man having answered, rebuking him, saying, Thou fear not even God, since thou are in the same condemnation?
ஆனால் மற்ற குற்றவாளியோ, அவனைக் கண்டித்து, “நீ இறைவனுக்குப் பயப்படுவதில்லையா? நீயும் இதே தண்டனைக்கு உட்பட்டிருக்கிறாயே.
41 And we indeed justly, for we receive worthy of what we did, but this man did nothing amiss.
நாம் நியாயப்படி தண்டனை பெற்றிருக்கிறோம். நமது செயல்களுக்கேற்றதையே பெற்றிருக்கிறோம். இவரோ, எந்த தவறும் செய்யவில்லை” என்றான்.
42 And he said to Jesus, Remember me, Lord, when thou come into thy kingdom.
பின்பு அவன் இயேசுவிடம், “இயேசுவே, உமது அரசில் நீர் வரும்போது, என்னையும் நினைவில் வைத்துக்கொள்ளும்” என்றான்.
43 And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to thee, today thou will be with me in the paradise.
அதற்கு இயேசு, “நான் உனக்கு உண்மையைச் சொல்கிறேன், இன்றைக்கே நீ என்னுடன்கூட சொர்க்கத்தில் இருப்பாய்” என்றார்.
44 And it was about the sixth hour, and darkness occurred over the whole land until the ninth hour.
அப்பொழுது பகல் பன்னிரண்டு மணியாயிருந்தது, பூமியெங்கும் இருள் சூழ்ந்து பிற்பகல் மூன்று மணிவரை நீடித்திருந்தது.
45 And the sun was darkened, and the curtain of the temple was torn in the middle.
சூரியன் இருளடைந்தது. ஆலயத்தின் திரைச்சீலை இரண்டாகக் கிழிந்தது.
46 And Jesus, having sounded out in a great voice, said, Father, into thy hands I entrust my spirit. And having said these things, he expired.
இயேசு உரத்த குரலில், “பிதாவே, உமது கைகளில் என் ஆவியை ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிறேன்” என்று சத்தமிட்டுக் கூப்பிட்டுச் சொல்லி, அவருடைய கடைசி மூச்சைவிட்டார்.
47 And when the centurion saw that which happened, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this man was righteous.
நூற்றுக்குத் தலைவன் நடந்தவற்றையெல்லாம் கண்டு, “நிச்சயமாகவே, இவர் நீதிமான்” என்று இறைவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தினான்.
48 And all the multitudes who came together to this scene, watching that which happened, turned back, beating their breasts.
இந்தக் காட்சியைப் பார்ப்பதற்காக, கூடியிருந்த மக்கள் எல்லோரும் நடந்ததைக் கண்டபோது, அவர்கள் தங்கள் மார்பில் அடித்துக்கொண்டு திரும்பிச் சென்றார்கள்.
49 And all his acquaintances, and the women who accompanied him from Galilee, had stood from afar, seeing these things.
ஆனால் இயேசுவை அறிந்தவர்களும், கலிலேயாவில் இருந்து அவரைப் பின்பற்றி வந்த பெண்களும், தூரத்தில் நின்று இவற்றைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
50 And behold a man named Joseph, a council member, being a good and righteous man
நீதிமன்றத்தின் அங்கத்தினராயிருந்த, யோசேப்பு என்னும் பெயர்கொண்ட ஒருவன் இருந்தான். அவன் நல்லவனும், நீதிமானாயிருந்தான்.
51 (this man not having consented to their purpose and deed), was from Arimathaea, a city of the Jews, who also himself awaited the kingdom of God.
அவன் அவர்களுடைய தீர்மானத்திற்கோ, அவர்களுடைய செயலுக்கோ உடன்பட்டிருக்கவில்லை. அவன் யூதேயாவின் ஒரு பட்டணமான, அரிமத்தியா என்ற இடத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவன். அவன் இறைவனுடைய அரசுக்காகக் காத்திருந்தான்.
52 This man having gone to Pilate, requested the body of Jesus.
அவன் பிலாத்துவினிடத்தில் போய், இயேசுவினுடைய உடலைத் தரும்படி கேட்டான்.
53 And having taken it down, he wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulcher cut in rock, of which no man was yet lain.
பின்பு அவன் உடலைக் கீழே இறக்கி, ஒரு மெல்லிய துணியில் சுற்றி, கற்பாறையில் வெட்டியிருந்த ஒரு கல்லறையில் வைத்தான். கல்லறையில், இதுவரை எவருடைய உடலுமே வைக்கப்படவில்லை.
54 And the day was Preparation; sabbath was beginning.
அது ஓய்வுநாளுக்கு முந்தின நாளான ஆயத்த நாளாயிருந்தது. ஓய்வுநாளின் தொடக்கமோ நெருங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தது.
55 And having followed closely, the women who were gathered to him out of Galilee, they saw the sepulcher, and how his body was laid.
கலிலேயாவிலிருந்து இயேசுவுடன் வந்திருந்த பெண்கள், யோசேப்புக்குப் பின்னேசென்று கல்லறையையும், அதில் எப்படி இயேசுவினுடைய உடல் கிடத்தப்பட்டது என்பதையும் பார்த்தார்கள்.
56 And having returned, they prepared spices and ointments. And they indeed rested on the sabbath according to the commandment.
பின்பு அவர்கள் வீட்டுக்குப்போய், நறுமணப் பொருட்களையும், நறுமணத் தைலங்களையும் ஆயத்தம் செய்தார்கள். ஆனால் கட்டளையின்படியே, ஓய்வுநாளில் அவர்கள் ஓய்ந்திருந்தார்கள்.
