< James 3 >
1 Not many should become teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive greater judgment.
ᎢᏓᎵᏅᏟ ᏞᏍᏗ ᎢᏥᏣᏘ ᏗᏣᏕᏲᎲᏍᎩ ᏱᎨᏎᏍᏗ, ᎢᏥᎦᏔᎭᏰᏃ ᎤᏟ ᎢᎦᎢ ᎢᎩᏍᏛᏗᏍᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ;
2 For we all stumble in many things. If any man does not stumble in word, this is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.
ᎤᏣᏘᏰᏃ ᎢᏳᏓᎴᎩ ᏂᏗᎥ ᎢᏗᏍᎦᏅᎪᎢ. ᎢᏳᏃ ᎩᎶ ᎦᏬᏂᏍᎬ ᎾᏍᎦᏅᎬᎾ ᏥᎨᏐᎢ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᏄᎪᎸᎾ ᎨᏐ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ, ᏰᎵᏉ ᎾᏍᏉ ᎬᏪᎾᎯᏍᏙᏗ ᏂᎬ ᎠᏰᎸᎢ.
3 Behold we put bits into the mouths of horses for them to obey us, and we guide about their whole body.
ᎬᏂᏳᏉ ᏕᏗᎭᎾᎳᏗᏍᎪ ᏐᏈᎵ ᎨᎪᎯᏳᏗᏱ, ᎠᎴ ᏂᎬ ᏗᏂᏰᎸ ᏕᏗᎪᎸᏏᏙᎰᎢ.
4 Behold also the ships, being so great and driven by fierce winds, are guided about by a very small rudder, wherever the impulse of the man who steers determines.
ᎬᏂᏳᏉ ᎾᏍᏉ ᏥᏳᏧᏛᎾ ᏤᏉᎯᏳᏍᎩᏂᏃᏅ ᎠᎴ ᎤᏍᎦᏎᏗ ᎤᏃᎴ ᏕᎦᏂᏙᎰᎢ, ᎠᏎᏃ ᏓᏂᎦᏔᎲᏏᏙᎰ ᎠᏅᏘᏍᎪ ᎤᏍᏗᎩᏳ ᎦᏌᏛᏍᏗ ᎾᎿᎭᏉ ᎢᏗᏢ ᎤᏚᎸ ᎦᏌᏛᏍᎩ.
5 So also the tongue is a little body-part, and boasts greatly. Behold a little fire, how much wood it kindles.
ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᎾᏍᏉ ᎦᏃᎦ ᎤᏍᏗᎩᏳ, ᎠᏎᏃ ᎡᏉᎯᏳ ᎦᏬᏂᏍᎪᎢ. ᎬᏂᏳᏉ ᎤᏍᏗ ᎠᏥᎸ ᏄᏣᏔ ᎠᏓ ᏓᏥᏍᏢᏍᎪᎢ.
6 And the tongue is a fire, the world of unrighteousness. Thus, the tongue is made to lead among our body-parts, defiling the whole body, and setting the cycle of nature on fire, and being set on fire by hell. (Geenna )
ᎠᎴ ᎦᏃᎦ ᎠᏥᎸ ᎾᏍᎩᏯᎢ ᎠᎴ ᎡᎶᎯ ᎠᎧᎵᎢ ᏂᏚᏳᎪᏛᎾ ᎨᏒ ᎾᏍᎩᏯ. ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᏄᏍᏗ ᎦᏃᎦ ᎤᏓᏑᏴ ᎢᎦᏙᏢᏒᎢ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎦᏓᎭ ᎢᎬᏁᎯ ᏂᎬ ᎠᏰᎸᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎠᏥᏍᏢᏍᎩ ᎠᎢᏒ ᎠᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏨᏍᎩᏃᎢ ᎤᏓᏳᏓᎴᏅᎯ ᎠᏥᏥᏍᏝᏫᏍᏗᏍᎩ. (Geenna )
7 For every species, both of beasts and of birds, both of creeping things and things in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed by the human species.
ᏄᎾᏓᎴᏒᏰᏃ ᎢᎾᎨ ᎠᏁᎯ ᎠᎴ ᎠᏂᏃᎯᎵᏙᎯ ᎠᎴ ᎠᎾᏓᎾᏏᏂᏙᎯ ᎠᎴ ᎠᎺᏉᎯ ᎠᏁᎯ, ᏗᏓᏅᏘᏐᏙᏗ ᎠᎴ ᏧᏓᏅᏘᏐᏔᏅᎯ ᏴᏫ.
8 But no man is able to tame the tongue of men, an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
ᎦᏃᎦᏍᎩᏂ ᎥᏝ ᎩᎶ ᏰᎵ ᏴᎬᏓᏅᏘᏐᏓ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᏲᎢ ᎬᏎᎪᎩᏍᏗ ᏂᎨᏒᎾ, ᎠᎧᎵᎢ ᎠᏓᎯᎯ ᏅᏬᏘ.
9 By it we bless the God and Father, and by it we curse men, who were made according to a likeness of God.
ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏛᏗᏍᎪᎢ ᎡᏗᎸᏉᏗᏍᎪ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏛᏗᏍᎪᎢ ᏕᏗᏍᎩᏅᏗᏍᎪ ᏴᏫ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᏄᏍᏛ ᎢᎨᎬᏁᎸᎯ ᎨᎪᏢᏅᎯ
10 Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and curse. My brothers, these things ought not to happen this way.
ᎾᏍᎩ ᏌᏉ ᎠᎰᎵ ᏗᎦᏄᎪᎪ ᎦᎸᏉᏙᏗ ᎨᏒ ᎠᎴ ᎠᏍᎩᏅᏗᏍᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ. ᎢᏓᎵᏅᏟ, ᎥᏝ ᎣᏏᏳ ᏱᎩ ᎾᏍᎩ ᏥᏄᏍᏗ.
11 Does the spring pour out from the same opening the sweet and the bitter?
ᏥᎪ ᏌᏉ ᎦᏄᎪᎬ ᏗᎦᏄᎪᎪ ᎤᎦᎾᏍᏛ ᎠᎹ ᎠᎴ ᎤᏴᏍᏗ?
12 A fig tree, my brothers, cannot make olives, or a grapevine figs. In the same way, no one spring makes water salty and sweet.
ᎢᏓᎵᏅᏟ, ᏥᎪ ᏒᎦᏔ-ᎢᏳᏍᏗ ᏡᎬ ᏰᎵᏉ ᏯᎾᏓᏛᎦ ᎣᎵᏩ ᏡᎬ ᎠᎾᏓᏛᏍᎩ, ᎠᎴ ᏥᎪ ᏖᎸᎳᏗᎯ ᏒᎦᎳ-ᎢᏳᏍᏗ ᏯᎾᏓᏛᎦ? ᎾᏍᏉᏍᎩᏂ ᎥᏝ ᏰᎵ ᏌᏉ ᎦᏄᎪᎬ ᏴᏛᎦᏄᎪᎢ ¯ ᎠᎹ ᎤᎶᏥᏛ ᎠᎴ ¯ ᎠᎹ ᎤᎶᏥᏛ ᏂᎨᏒᎾ.
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show from his good behavior his works in meekness of wisdom.
ᎦᎪ ᏂᎯ ᏂᏣᏛᏅᎢ ᎤᏓᏑᏯ ᎠᏏᎾᏌᏂ ᎠᎴ ᎠᎦᏔᏂᎢ? ᎾᏍᎩ ᏫᎦᎾᏄᎪᏩ ᏕᎤᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎲᎢ ᏫᎬᏙᏓ ᎣᏏᏳ ᎾᏛᏁᎲᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏫᎬᏙᏓ ᎠᏏᎾᏌᏂᏳ ᎨᏒ ᏔᎵ ᎤᏛᏕᏍᏗ ᎤᏓᏅᏘ ᎨᏒᎢ.
14 But if ye have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast, and do not lie against the truth.
ᎢᏳᏍᎩᏂ ᎢᏥᏍᏆᏂᎪᏕᏍᏗ ᏙᏗᏣᏓᏅᏛᎢ ᎠᏛᏳᎨᏗ ᎠᎴ ᎠᏗᏒᏍᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᏞᏍᏗ ᏱᏣᏢᏆᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎠᎴ ᏞᏍᏗ ᏱᏣᏤᎪᎥᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎤᏙᎯᏳᏒ ᏱᏥᏲᏍᎨᏍᏗ.
15 This wisdom is not descending from above, but is earthly, world-soul, demonic.
ᎯᎠ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎠᏏᎾᏌᏂᏳ ᎨᏒ ᎥᏝ ᎦᎸᎳᏗ ᏅᏓᏳᏓᎴᏅᎯ ᏱᎩ, ᎡᎶᎯᏉᏍᎩᏂ ᎡᎯ ᎠᎴ ᎤᏊᏓᎸᏉ ᎡᎯ ᎠᎴ ᎠᏍᎩᎾ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ.
16 For where envy and selfish ambition are, there is instability and every evil deed.
ᎾᎿᎭᏰᏃ ᎠᏛᏳᎨᏗ ᎠᎴ ᎠᏗᏒᏍᏗ ᎠᏁᎲᎢ, ᎾᎿᎭᎡᎰ ᏧᏓᎴᏅᏛ ᎠᎴ ᏂᎦᎥ ᎤᏲ ᏗᎦᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ.
17 But the wisdom from above is indeed first pure, then peaceful, gentle, easily entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and non-hypocritical.
ᎦᎸᎳᏗᏍᎩᏂ ᏅᏓᏳᏓᎴᏅᎯ ᏥᎩ ᎠᏏᎾᏌᏂᏳ ᎨᏒ ᎢᎬᏱᏱ ᎦᏓᎭ ᏂᎨᏒᎾ ᎨᏐᎢ, ᎿᎭᏉᏃ ᎪᎯᏍᏗᏍᎩ, ᎠᎴ ᎤᏓᏅᏘ, ᎠᎴ ᎤᏬᎯᏳᎯᏍᏛ, ᎠᎴ ᎠᎧᎵᏬᎯ ᎠᏓᏙᎵᏍᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ ᎠᎴ ᎣᏍᏛ ᏗᎦᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏄᏓᎸᏉᏛᎾ, ᎠᎴ ᎤᏠᎾᏍᏗ ᏂᎨᏒᎾ.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace to those who make peace.
ᎠᏃᎯᏍᏗᏍᎩᏂ ᎠᏃᎯᏍᏗᏍᎬᎢ ᎠᏂᏫᏍᎪ ᏚᏳᎪᏛ ᎤᎾᏄᎪᏫᏍᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ.
