Psalmen 87

1 Een psalm van de zonen van Kore; een lied. Zijn stichting op de heilige bergen Heeft Jahweh lief;

A Psalm by the sons of Korah; a Song. His foundation is in the holy mountains.

2 De poorten van Sion nog meer Dan alle woonsteden van Jakob!

The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

3 Heerlijke dingen zegt Hij van u, Stad van God:

Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God. (Selah)

4 Ik zal Ráhab en Babel tellen Bij mijn belijders; Zie, Filistea, Tyrus en Koesj; Hier zijn ze geboren!

I will record Rahab and Babylon amongst those who acknowledge me. Behold, Philistia, Tyre, and also Ethiopia: “This one was born there.”

5 Ja, van Sion zal men eens zeggen: "Man voor man is daar geboren!" En de Allerhoogste zal het bevestigen,

Yes, of Zion it will be said, “This one and that one was born in her;” the Most High himself will establish her.

6 Jahweh het schrijven In het boek van de volkeren: "Hier zijn ze geboren!"

The LORD will count, when he writes up the peoples, “This one was born there.” (Selah)

7 Dan zullen ze allen in reidans zingen: "In U is mijn woning!"

Those who sing as well as those who dance say, “All my springs are in you.”
