< Luka 18 >

1 Eka Yesu nogoyo ngero ne jopuonjrene mondo onyisgi gibed ka gilamo kinde duto kendo kik chunygi aa.
He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray and not give up,
2 Nowachonegi niya, “E dala moro ne nitie jangʼad bura mane ok oluoro Nyasaye kata ok odewo ji.
saying, “There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God and didn’t respect man.
3 To ne nitie dhako ma chwore otho moro e dalano manobedo kadhiyo ire pile giywakne kakwaye ni, ‘Yie ingʼadna bura e kinda gi ngʼat ma hinyani!’
A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’
4 “Kuom kinde moko moromo nodagi, to bangʼe mogik nowacho kende owuon ni, ‘Kata obedo ni ok aluoro Nyasaye kendo ok adewo ji kamano
He wouldn’t for a while; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man,
5 to nikech dhako ma chwore othoni osiko chanda, abiro neno ni angʼadone bura kare, mondo kik oola gibiro ma obirogo ira pile!’”
yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’”
6 To Ruoth nowacho niya, “Winjeuru gima ne jangʼad bura ma ok kareno owacho!
The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7 To donge Nyasaye biro ngʼado bura kare ni joge moyier, maywakne odiechiengʼ gi otieno? Bende obiro tamore ma ok owinjogi?
Won’t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
8 Awachonu ni obiro neno ni ongʼadnegi bura kare kendo mapiyo. Kata kamano, ka Wuod Dhano obiro, bende obiro yudo yie e piny?”
I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
9 Ne joma noketo genogi kuomgi giwegi maparo ni gin joma kare kendo mane ochayo ji mamoko duto, Yesu nogoyonegi ngero kama:
He also spoke this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others:
10 “Ji ariyo nodhi lemo ei hekalu, achiel ne en ja-Farisai to machielo ne jasol osuru.
“Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
11 Ja-Farisai moro nochungo malo mi olamo ka opwoyore ni, ‘Nyasaye, agoyoni erokamano ni ok an kaka ji mamoko, ma jomecho, joma timo timbe maricho, jochode, kata mana kaka jasol osuruni.
The Pharisee stood and prayed by himself like this: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of men: extortionists, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 Atweyo chiemo nyadiriyo e juma ka juma, kendo achiwo achiel kuom apar mar gigo duto manwangʼo.’
I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.’
13 “To jasol osuru nochungo mabor. Ne ok onyal kata mana ngʼiyo polo malo, to nogoyo kore kendo nowacho ni, ‘Nyasaye, kecha, an jaricho.’
But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
15 Ji ne kelo nyithindo matindo ir Yesu, mondo ogwedhgi. Kane jopuonjre noneno mano negikwerogi.
They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16 To Yesu noluongo nyithindo ire kendo nowacho niya, “Weuru nyithindo matindo obi ira, kendo kik utamgi, nikech pinyruoth Nyasaye en mar ji machal ka magi.
Yeshua summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.
17 Awachonu adier ni, ngʼato ma ok orwako pinyruoth Nyasaye kaka nyathi matin ok nodonji ngangʼ.”
Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn’t receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
18 Jatelo moro nopenje niya, “Japuonj maber, en angʼo monego atim mondo ayud ngima mochwere kaka girkeni mara?” (aiōnios g166)
A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Rabbi, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
19 Yesu nodwoke kapenje niya, “Angʼo momiyo iluonga ni ngʼama ber? Onge ngʼama ber, makmana Nyasaye kende.
Yeshua asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one: God.
20 Ingʼeyo chike mawacho ni: ‘Kik iterri, kik ineki, kik ikwal, kik ihang wach, luor wuonu gi minu.’”
You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’”
21 Nodwoke niya, “Magi duto aserito nyaka aa rawera.”
He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.”
22 Kane Yesu owinjo wachno, nowachone niya, “Pod iremo gimoro achiel. Lok mwanduni duto ma in-go pesa, mondo ipog joma odhier, eka inibed gi mwandu mokan e polo. Bangʼ timo kamano to bi mondo iluwa.”
When Yeshua heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”
23 Ka nowinjo ma, nobedo mokuyo ahinya, nikech ne en ngʼat man-gi mwandu mathoth ahinya.
But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.
24 Yesu nongʼiye kendo nowachone niya, “Mano kaka en gima tek mondo jomoko odonji e pinyruoth Nyasaye.
Yeshua, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!
25 Chutho, yot mondo ngamia okadhi e wangʼ sandan, moloyo jamoko donjo e pinyruoth Nyasaye!”
For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
26 Jogo manowinjo mani nopenjo niya, “Kare en ngʼa manyalo kwo?”
Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?”
27 Yesu nodwokogi niya, “Gino ma ok nyalre gi dhano, nyalore kuom Nyasaye.”
But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
28 Petro nowachone niya, “Wan waseweyo gik moko duto mane wan-go mondo waluwi!”
Peter said, “Look, we have left everything and followed you.”
29 Yesu nowachonegi niya, “Awachonu adier ni, onge ngʼato moseweyo dalane kata jaode kata owetene, kata jonywolne, kata nyithinde nikech pinyruoth Nyasaye
He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for God’s Kingdom’s sake,
30 ma ok norem mak oyudo nyadi mangʼeny marome e tiengʼni kendo e tiengʼ mabiro, noyud ngima mochwere.” (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.” (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
31 Yesu nokawo jopuonjre apar gariyo otero tenge kendo nowachonegi niya, “Eri wadhi nyaka Jerusalem, to gigo duto mane ondiki gi jonabi kuom Wuod Dhano ibiro timogi.
He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.
32 Ibiro chiwe ne joma ok jo-Yahudi. Gibiro jare, giniyanye, mi gingʼudh olawo kuome.
For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.
33 Bende ginichwade ma gininege, to chiengʼ mar adek enochier kendo.”
They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again.”
34 Jopuonjre ne ok owinjo tiend wechegi kata matin. Tiend wechegi nopandnegi, kendo ne ok gingʼeyo gima ne owuoyo kuome.
They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn’t understand the things that were said.
35 Kane Yesu chiegni chopo Jeriko, ngʼat moro ma muofu noyudo obet e bath yo kakwecho.
As he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.
36 Kane owinjo ka oganda kadho, nopenjo ni en angʼo matimore.
Hearing a multitude going by, he asked what this meant.
37 Negidwoke niya, “Yesu ja-Nazareth ema kadho.”
They told him that Yeshua of Nazareth was passing by.
38 Noluongo matek niya, “Yesu, Wuod Daudi, yie ikecha!”
He cried out, “Yeshua, you son of David, have mercy on me!”
39 To jogo ma notelo e yo nokwere kendo nowachone ni olingʼ thi, to nomedo goyo koko niya, “Wuod Daudi, yie ikecha!”
Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 Yesu nochungo kendo nochiko mondo okel ngʼatno ire. Kane obiro machiegni, Yesu nopenje niya,
Standing still, Yeshua commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,
41 “Angʼo midwaro mondo atimni?” Nodwoko niya, “Ruoth, adwaro mondo anen.”
“What do you want me to do?” He said, “Lord, that I may see again.”
42 Yesu nowachone niya, “Nen! Yieni ema ochangi.”
Yeshua said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.”
43 Gikanyono nochako neno kendo noluwo bangʼ Yesu, kopako Nyasaye. Ka ji duto noneno mano, negipako Nyasaye.
Immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
