< Luka 12 >

1 E kindeno, kane oganda mar ji mangʼeny maromo alufe ne osechokore, makoro ginyonore giwegi, Yesu nochako wuoyo mokwongo, ni jopuonjrene kowacho niya, “Beduru motangʼ ne thowi mar jo-Farisai, ma en wuondruok.
Meanwhile, when a multitude of many thousands had gathered together, so much so that they trampled on each other, he began to tell his disciples first of all, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
2 Onge gimoro mopandi ma ok nofweny, kata malingʼ-lingʼ ma ok nongʼere.
But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.
3 Gima usewacho e mudho biro winjore e odiechiengʼ e lela, kendo gima usekwodho e itu ei ot maiye nolandi ewi tat ot.
Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
4 “Awachonu osiepena, kik uluor jogo manego ringruok to bangʼe onge gima ginyalo medo timo.
“I tell you, my friends, don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
5 To abiro nyisou jalno monego uluor: Luoruru jalno ma, bangʼ nego ringruok, to en gi teko mar witou e ataro mar mach. Ee, awachonu, luoreuru. (Geenna g1067)
But I will warn you whom you should fear. Fear him who after he has killed, has power to cast into Gehenna. Yes, I tell you, fear him. (Geenna g1067)
6 Oyundi abich donge ingʼiewo otonglo ariyo kende? To kata kamano kata achiel kuomgi wi Nyasaye ok wilgo.
“Aren’t five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God.
7 Chutho, kata mana yie wiu duto osekwan mongʼe kar rombgi. Kik uluor, nikech uloyo oyundi nyadi mangʼeny.
But the very hairs of your head are all counted. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
8 “Awachonu, ngʼato angʼata mohulo ni ongʼeya e nyim ji, Wuod Dhano biro hulo ni angʼeye e nyim malaike mag Nyasaye.
“I tell you, everyone who confesses me before men, the Son of Man will also confess before the angels of God;
9 To ngʼato angʼata mokweda e nyim ji en bende nokwede e nyim malaike mag Nyasaye.
but he who denies me in the presence of men will be denied in the presence of God’s angels.
10 Kendo ngʼato angʼata mowacho wach moro marach kuom Wuod Dhano nowene, to ngʼato angʼata ma yanyo Roho Maler ok nowene richone.
Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
11 “Kokelu e sinagogi, e nyim jodongo gi jotelo, to kik uparru kaka dudwok weche ma odonjnugo, kata gima duwachi,
When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, don’t be anxious how or what you will answer or what you will say;
12 nikech Roho Maler biro puonjou e sano gima onego uwachi.”
for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that same hour what you must say.”
13 Ngʼat moro mane ni ei oganda nowachone niya, “Japuonj nyis owadwa mondo opogna mwanduna.”
One of the multitude said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
14 Yesu nodwoko niya, “Omera en ngʼa moketa jangʼad bura kata jathek e kindu?”
But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or an arbitrator over you?”
15 Eka nowachonegi niya, “Ritreuru! Beduru motangʼ ne kit wuoro duto; ngima mar dhano ok bedi nikech mwandu mathoth ma en-go.”
He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”
16 Kendo nogoyonegi ngero moro ni: “Puoth ngʼat moro ma jamoko nochiek maber.
He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man produced abundantly.
17 Noparo e chunye ni, ‘Angʼo monego atim? Aonge kama dakanie chamba.’
He reasoned within himself, saying, ‘What will I do, because I don’t have room to store my crops?’
18 “Eka nowacho ni, ‘Ma e gima abiro timo. Abiro muko dechena kendo gero moko madongo, kendo abiro kano chamba duto gi gigena kanyo.
He said, ‘This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.
19 Eka anawach gie chunya niya, “Chunya in-gi gik mangʼeny mabeyo misekano moromi kuom higni mangʼeny. Koro ywe, chiem, methi kendo bed mamor.”’
I will tell my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.”’
20 “To Nyasaye nowachone ni, ‘In ngʼat mofuwoni! Kawuono gotienoni wangʼ nokaw ngimani. En ngʼa mabiro kawo mago miseloso ne in iwuon?’
“But God said to him, ‘You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared—whose will they be?’
21 “Mano e kaka nobed gi ngʼato angʼata mokano gik moko ne en owuon to ok omew e yor Nyasaye.”
So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
22 Eka Yesu nowachone jopuonjrene niya, “Emomiyo awachonu ni kik uparru kuom ngimau, kata kuom gik ma ubiro chamo, kata kuom dendu, kata gik ma ubiro rwako.
He said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear.
23 Ngima duongʼ moloyo chiemo, kendo del duongʼ moloyo lewni.
Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
24 Paruruane winy ma ok chwo cham to bende ok gikee, gionge gi kuonde keno kata dere; to Nyasaye pod pidhogi apidha. To un donge uber moloyo winy.
Consider the ravens: they don’t sow, they don’t reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!
25 En ngʼa kuomu ma parruok moparorego nyalo miyo omed bedo mangima kata mana kuom sa achiel kende?
Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height?
26 To kaka ok unyal timo mani matin-ni, angʼo momiyo uparoru kuom gik mamoko?
If then you aren’t able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?
27 “Paruruane kaka ondanyo dongo. Ok ginyagre gi tich kata gi chwecho. To kata kamano awachonu ni kata mana Solomon e rwakruokne malich duto ne ok orwakore ka achiel kuomgi.
Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 Ka kamano e kaka Nyasaye rwako lum aluma manie pap, ma kawuono nitie to kiny iwite e mach, to koro un dorwaku, machal nade, yaye un joma yiegi tin-gi?
But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?
29 Kendo kik uket chunyu kuom gima dicham kata madi madhi, kik uparru kuom mago.
“Don’t seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.
30 Nimar jopiny ema chandore ka dwaro gigi duto, to bende Wuonu ongʼeyo ni udwaro gigi duto.
For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.
31 To dwaruru pinyruoth Nyasaye, eka gigi duto bende nomiu kaachiel gi mago.
But seek God’s Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.
32 “Kik uluor un kweth matin, nikech Wuonu mor mar miyou pinyruoth.
“Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.
33 Lok gigi iyudgo pesa mondo imi joma odhier. Dwaruru ofuke magu mikane pesa ma ok yiechi ma en mwandu manie polo ma ok rum kuma jakuo ok chopie kata olwenda ok kethi.
Sell what you have and give gifts to the needy. Make for yourselves purses which don’t grow old, a treasure in the heavens that doesn’t fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.
34 Nimar kama mwanduni nitie e kama chunyi bende nobedie.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
35 “Rwakreuru ka uikoru ne tich kendo techeu osik kaliel,
“Let your waist be dressed and your lamps burning.
36 ka joma rito ruodhgi maduogo koa e nyasi mar arus, mondo kobiro kendo oduongʼo to giyawone dhoot piyo.
Be like men watching for their lord when he returns from the wedding feast, that when he comes and knocks, they may immediately open to him.
37 Nobed maber ni jotich ma ruodhgi noyud karito e kinde modwogo. Awachonu adiera ni norwakre gi lawe mondo omigi chiemo, nomi gibed e mesa mi nobi mopognegi chiemo.
Blessed are those servants whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Most certainly I tell you that he will dress himself, make them recline, and will come and serve them.
38 Nobed maber ne jotije ma ruodhgi noyud ka oikore kata ka obiro e arita mar ariyo kata mar adek gotieno.
They will be blessed if he comes in the second or third watch and finds them so.
39 To ngʼeuru ma maber ni ka dine wuon ot ngʼe ni kar sa adi ma jakuo biroe to dine ok oweyo ode otur gi jakuo.
But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.
40 Omiyo kamano e kaka un bende onego ubed moikore, nikech Wuod Dhano biro biro sa ma ok ungʼeyo.”
Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man is coming in an hour that you don’t expect him.”
41 Petro nopenje niya, “Ruoth iwacho ngeroni ni wan koso ni ji duto?”
Peter said to him, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everybody?”
42 To Ruoth nodwoko niya, “Kare jatich ma ja-adiera kendo ma jatelo mariek en ngʼa, ma ruodhe omiyo tich mar rito jotije ka miyogi chiembgi e sa mowinjore?
The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the right times?
43 Jatijno none ber ka ruodhe odwogo to noyude kotimo gima noweye notim.
Blessed is that servant whom his lord will find doing so when he comes.
44 Awachonu adier ni obiro kete jarit mwandune duto.
Truly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.
45 To kapo ni jatijno owacho e chunye owuon ni, ‘Ruodha, okawo ndalo mathoth kapok odwogo,’ mi ochako goyo jotich machwo gi mon kendo owere ne chiemo gi metho, kod mer.
But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My lord delays his coming,’ and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink and to be drunken,
46 Ruodh jatijno nobi e odiechiengʼ ma ok opar ni dobie kendo e sa ma ok ongʼeyo, enongʼade matindo tindo mi okete kaachiel gi joma ok oyie.
then the lord of that servant will come in a day when he isn’t expecting him and in an hour that he doesn’t know, and will cut him in two, and place his portion with the unfaithful.
47 “Jatijno mongʼeyo dwaro mar ruodhe to ok otem timo gima ruodhe dwaro nochwad mangʼeny.
That servant who knew his lord’s will, and didn’t prepare nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes,
48 To mano ma ok ongʼeyo to otimo gik mowinjore gi kum, to nochwad manok. Ngʼato ka ngʼato ma osemi mangʼeny nodwar kuome gik mangʼeny, to jal ma osemi mangʼeny mondo oriti, enopenje mangʼeny moloyo.
but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.
49 “Asebiro mondo amok mach e piny, to mano kaka agombo ni mad ne bed ni osemoke!
“I came to throw fire on the earth. I wish it were already kindled.
50 Nitie batiso monego ayudi. To mano kaka chunya chandore nyaka chop otimre!
But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!
51 Uparo ni ne abiro mondo akel kwe e piny? Ooyo, to awachonu ni ne akelo mana pogruok.
Do you think that I have come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, no, but rather division.
52 Chakre kawuono kadhi nyime ji abich ma joot achiel biro pogore, ji adek odok kon achiel to ji ariyo bende nodog komachielo.
For from now on, there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 Gibiro pogore, wuoro nopogre gi wuode kendo wuowi bende nopogre gi wuon, miyo nopogre gi nyare to nyako bende nopogre gi min, dayo nopogre gi chi wuode, chi wuowi bende nopogre gi damare.”
They will be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”
54 Nowacho ni oganda niya, “Kuneno ka boche polo chokore yo podho chiengʼ to piyo piyo uwacho ni, ‘Koth biro chue,’ to timore kamano!
He said to the multitudes also, “When you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and so it happens.
55 Kendo ka yamb milambo kudho to uwacho ni oro biro to kamano e kaka timore.
When a south wind blows, you say, ‘There will be a scorching heat,’ and it happens.
56 Andhokegi! Ka ulony kuom rango chal mar piny gi polo to angʼo momiyo ok unyal ngʼeyo gik matimore ndalogi?
You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how is it that you don’t interpret this time?
57 “Angʼo mamonou ngʼado bura mar gima kare?
“Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?
58 Ka idhi gi ngʼama odonjoni e nyim jangʼad bura, tem matek mondo iwuo kode kendo uwinjru kapod un e yo, nono to obiro ywayi koteri ir jangʼad bura, to jangʼad bura biro keti e lwet askari, to askari biro boli e od twech.
For when you are going with your adversary before the magistrate, try diligently on the way to be released from him, lest perhaps he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.
59 Awachoni ni ok niwuog oko nyaka ichul faini duto monego ichul ma ok orem kata ndururu.”
I tell you, you will by no means get out of there until you have paid the very last penny.”
