Salme 16
1 (En miktam af David.) Vogt mig, Gud, thi jeg lider på dig!
A Precious Psalm of David. Preserve me, O GOD, for I have sought refuge in thee.
2 Jeg siger til HERREN: "Du er min Herre; jeg har ikke andet Gode end dig.
Thou hast said unto Yahweh, My Lord, art thou! My goodness, mounteth not unto thee.
3 De hellige, som er i Landet, de er de herlige, hvem al min Hu står til."
It belongeth unto the holy ones, whom, in his own land, Yahweh, ennobleth, In whom is all his delight
4 Mange Kvaler rammer dem, som vælger en anden Gud; deres Blodofre vil jeg ikke udgyde, ej tage deres Navn i min Mund.
They multiply their idols—another, have they purchased! I will not pour out their drink-offerings of blood, nor will I take up their names on my lips.
5 HERREN er min tilmålte Del og mit Bæger. Du holder min Arvelod i Hævd.
Yahweh, is mine allotted portion and my cup, Thou, art maintaining my lot.
6 Snorene faldt mig på liflige Steder, ja, en dejlig Arvelod tilfaldt mig.
The lines, have fallen unto me, in pleasant places, Verily an inheritance that delighteth me.
7 Jeg vil prise HERREN, der gav mig Råd, mine Nyrer maner mig, selv om Natten.
I will bless Yahweh, who hath counselled me, —Surely, by night, shall mine impulses admonish me.
8 Jeg har altid HERREN for Øje, han er ved min højre, jeg rokkes ikke.
I have set Yahweh before me continually, because he is on my right hand, I shall not be shaken!
9 Derfor glædes mit Hjerte, min Ære jubler, endogså mit Kød skal bo i Tryghed.
Therefore, hath my heart rejoiced, and mine honour exulted, Yea, my flesh, shall settle down securely;
For thou wilt not abandon my soul to hades, neither wilt thou suffer thy man of lovingkindness, to see corruption: (Sheol h7585)
11 Du lærer mig Livets Vej; man mættes af Glæde for dit Åsyn, Livsalighed er i din højre for evigt.
Thou wilt cause me to know, the path of life, —Fulness of joys before thee, Pleasures at thy right hand evermore.
