Malachiáš 1
1 Břímě slova Hospodinova proti Izraelovi skrze Malachiáše.
The birthun of the word of the Lord to Israel, in the hond of Malachie, the profete.
2 Miluji vás, praví Hospodin, vy pak říkáte: V čem nás miluješ? Zdaliž Ezau nebyl bratr Jákobův? praví Hospodin. A však jsem miloval Jákoba.
Y louyde you, seith the Lord, and ye seiden, In what thing louydist thou vs? Whether Esau was not the brother of Jacob, seith the Lord, and Y louyde Jacob,
3 Ezau pak měl jsem v nenávisti; protož zanechal jsem hor jeho pustých, a dědictví jeho drakům pouště.
forsothe Y hatide Esau? And Y haue put Seir the hillis of hym in to wildirnesse, and his eritage in to dragouns of desert.
4 Řekne-li Idumejská země: Ochuzeniť jsme, ale navrátíme se zase, a vystavíme místa pustá, takto praví Hospodin zástupů: Oni nechť stavějí, a já budu bořiti. I budou je nazývati pomezím bezbožnosti a lidem, na nějž hněviv bude Hospodin až na věky.

5 Což oči vaše uzří, a vy díte: Veleben buď Hospodin po pomezích Izraelských.

6 Syn ctí otce, a služebník pána svého. Protož jestližeť jsem já otec, kdež jest čest má? A jestliže jsem pán, kde jest bázeň má? Vám to mluví Hospodin zástupů, ó kněží, kteříž sobě zlehčujete jméno mé. A však říkáte: V čem zlehčujeme jméno tvé?
The sone onourith the fader, and the seruaunt schal drede his lord; therfor if Y am fadir, wher is myn onour? and if Y am lord, where is my drede? seith the Lord of oostis. A! ye prestis, to you that dispisen my name; and ye seiden, Wherynne han we dispisid thi name?
7 Kteříž přinášejíce na oltář můj obět poškvrněnou, říkáte: Čímž jsme tě poškvrnili? Tím, když říkáte: Stůl Hospodinův v pohrdání jest.
Ye offren on myn auter vncleene breed, and ye seien, Wherynne han we defoulid thee? In that thing that ye seien, The boord of the Lord is dispisid.
8 Nebo když přivodíte slepé k obětování, což to není nic zlého? A když přivodíte chromé aneb nemocné, což to není nic zlého? Daruj je medle knížeti svému, zalíbíš-li mu se tím, a přijme-li tvář tvou, praví Hospodin zástupů.
If ye offren a blynd beest to be sacrifisid, whether it is not yuel? And if ye offren a crokid and sike beeste, whether it is not yuel? Offre thou it to thi duyk, if it schal plese hym, ether if he schal resseyue thi face, seith the Lord of oostis.
9 A protož nyní kořtež se tváři Boha silného, aby nám milost učinil. Ale když to z rukou vašich jest, přijme-liž kterého z vás oblíčej? praví Hospodin zástupů.
And now biseche ye the cheer of the Lord, that he haue merci on you; for of youre hond this thing is doon, if in ony maner he resseiue youre faces, seith the Lord of oostis.
10 Anobrž kdo jest mezi vámi, aby zavřel dvéře, aneb zapálil na oltáři mém darmo? Nemámť v vás žádné líbosti, praví Hospodin zástupů, a oběti nepřijmu z ruky vaší.
Who is `in you that closith doris, and brenneth myn auter `of his owne wille, ethir freli? Wille is not to me in you, seith the Lord of oostis; and Y schal not resseyue a yifte of youre hond.
11 Nebo od východu slunce až na západ jeho veliké bude jméno mé mezi národy, a na všelikém místě kadění přinášíno bude jménu mému, a obět čistá. Veliké zajisté jméno mé bude mezi národy, praví Hospodin zástupů,

12 Ačkoli vy ho poškvrňujete, když říkáte: Stůl Hospodinův v pohrdání jest, a což kladeno bývá na něj, že jest chaterný pokrm.

13 Říkáte také: Ach, větší práce, ješto byste to zdmýchnouti mohli, praví Hospodin zástupů. Nebo přinášíte to, což jest vydřeno, a chromé i nemocné, přinášejíce dar. To-liž mám přijímati z ruky vaší? praví Hospodin.
And ye seiden, Lo! of trauel; and ye han blowe it a wei, seith the Lord of oostis. And ye brouyten in of raueyns a crokid thlng and sijk, and brouyten in a yifte; whether Y schal resseyue it of youre hond? seith the Lord.
14 Anobrž zlořečený jest fortelný, kterýž maje v svém stádě samce, činí slib, a obětuje Pánu to, což jest churavého. Nebo král veliký já jsem, praví Hospodin zástupů, a jméno mé jest hrozné mezi národy.
Cursid is the gileful, that hath in his floc a male beeste, and `he makynge a vow offrith a feble to the Lord; for Y am a greet kyng, seith the Lord of oostis, and my name is dredeful `in folkis.
