1 Zpívala pak písničku Debora a Barák syn Abinoemův v ten den, řkouc:
And Deborah singeth — also Barak son of Abinoam — on that day, saying: —
2 Pro pomstu učiněnou v Izraeli, a pro lid, kterýž se k tomu dobrovolně měl, dobrořečte Hospodinu.
'For freeing freemen in Israel, For a people willingly offering themselves Bless ye Jehovah.
3 Slyštež králové, a ušima pozorujte knížata, já, já zpívati budu Hospodinu, žalmy zpívati budu Hospodinu Bohu Izraelskému.
Hear, ye kings; give ear, ye princes, I, to Jehovah, I — I do sing, I sing praise to Jehovah, God of Israel.
4 Hospodine, když jsi vyšel z Seir, když jsi se bral z pole Edomského, třásla se země, nebesa dštila, a oblakové déšť vydali.
Jehovah, in Thy going forth out of Seir, In Thy stepping out of the field of Edom, Earth trembled, also the heavens dropped, Also thick clouds dropped water.
5 Hory se rozplynuly od tváři Hospodinovy, i ta hora Sinai třásla se před tváří Hospodina Boha Izraelského.
Hills flowed from the face of Jehovah, This one — Sinai — From the face of Jehovah, God of Israel.
6 Za dnů Samgara syna Anatova, a za dnů Jáhel spustly silnice, kteříž pak šli stezkami, zacházeli cestami křivými.
In the days of Shamgar son of Anath — In the days of Jael — The ways have ceased, And those going in the paths go [in] crooked ways.
7 Spustly vsi v Izraeli, spustly, pravím, až jsem povstala já Debora, povstala jsem matka v Izraeli.
Villages ceased in Israel — they ceased, Till that I arose — Deborah, That I arose, a mother in Israel.
8 Kterýžto kdyžkoli sobě zvoloval bohy nové, tedy bývala válka v branách, pavézy pak ani kopí nebylo vidíno mezi čtyřidcíti tisíci v Izraeli.
He chooseth new gods, Then war [is] at the gates! A shield is not seen — and a spear Among forty thousand in Israel.
9 Srdce mé nakloněno jest k správcům Izraelským a k těm, kteříž tak ochotní byli mezi jinými. Dobrořečtež Hospodinu.
My heart [is] to the lawgivers of Israel, Who are offering themselves willingly among the people, Bless ye Jehovah!
10 Kteříž jezdíte na bílých oslicích, kteříž bydlíte při Middin, a kteříž chodíte po cestách, vypravujtež,
Riders on white asses — Sitters on a long robe — And walkers by the way — meditate!
11 Že vzdálen hluk střelců na místech, kdež se voda váží; i tam vypravujte hojnou spravedlnost Hospodinovu, hojnou spravedlnost k obyvatelům vsí jeho v Izraeli; tehdážť vstupovati bude k branám lid Hospodinův.
By the voice of shouters Between the places of drawing water, There they give out righteous acts of Jehovah, Righteous acts of His villages in Israel, Then ruled in the gates have the people of Jehovah.
12 Povstaň, povstaň, Deboro, povstaniž, povstaniž a vypravuj píseň, povstaň, Baráku, a zajmi jaté své, synu Abinoemův.
Awake, awake, Deborah; Awake, awake, utter a song; Rise, Barak, and take captive thy captivity, Son of Abinoam.
13 Tehdážtě potlačenému dopomoženo k opanování silných reků z lidu; Hospodintě mi ku panování dopomohl nad silnými.

14 Z Efraima kořen jejich bojoval proti Amalechitským; za tebou, Efraime, Beniamin s lidem tvým; z Machira táhli vydavatelé zákona, a z Zabulona písaři.
Out of Ephraim their root [is] against Amalek. After thee, Benjamin, among thy peoples. Out of Machir came down lawgivers, And out of Zebulun those drawing with the reed of a writer.
15 Knížata také z Izachar s Deborou, ano i všecko pokolení Izacharovo, jako i Barák do údolí poslán jest pěšky, ale veliké hrdiny u sebe jsou v podílu Rubenovu.
And princes in Issachar [are] with Deborah, Yea, Issachar [is] right with Barak, Into the valley he was sent on his feet. In the divisions of Reuben, Great [are] the decrees of heart!
16 Jak jsi mohl mlče seděti mezi dvěma ohradami, poslouchaje řvání stád? Veliké hrdiny u sebe jsou v podílu Rubenovu.
Why hast thou abode between the boundaries, To hear lowings of herds? For the divisions of Reuben, Great [are] the searchings of heart!
17 Zdali i Galád před Jordánem nebydlil? Ale Dan proč zůstal při lodech? Asser seděl na břehu mořském, a v lomích svých bydlil.
Gilead beyond the Jordan did tabernacle, And Dan — why doth he sojourn [in] ships? Asher hath abode at the haven of the seas, And by his creeks doth tabernacle.
18 Zabulon, lid udatný, vynaložil duši svou na smrt, též i Neftalím na vysokých místech pole.
Zebulun [is] a people who exposed its soul to death, Naphtali also — on high places of the field.
19 Králové přitáhše, bojovali, tehdáž bojovali králové Kananejští v Tanach při vodách Mageddo, a však kořisti stříbra nevzali.
Kings came — they fought; Then fought kings of Canaan, In Taanach, by the waters of Megiddo; Gain of money they took not!
20 S nebe bojováno, hvězdy z míst svých bojovaly proti Zizarovi.
From the heavens they fought: The stars from their highways fought with Sisera.
21 Potok Císon smetl je, potok Kedumim, potok Císon; všecko to pošlapala jsi, duše má, udatně.
The brook Kishon swept them away, The brook most ancient — the brook Kishon. Thou dost tread down strength, O my soul!
22 Tehdáž otloukla se kopyta koňů od dupání velikého pod jezdci silnými.
Then broken were the horse-heels, By pransings — pransings of its mighty ones.
23 Zlořečte Merozu, praví anděl Hospodinův, zlořečte velice obyvatelům jeho, nebo nepřišli na pomoc Hospodinu, ku pomoci Hospodinu proti silným.
Curse Meroz — said a messenger of Jehovah, Cursing, curse ye its inhabitants, For they came not to the help of Jehovah, To the help of Jehovah among the mighty!
24 Požehnaná buď nad jiné ženy Jáhel, manželka Hebera Cinejského, nad ženy v staních bydlící buď požehnaná.
Blessed above women is Jael, Wife of Heber the Kenite, Above women in the tent she is blessed.
25 On vody žádal, ona mléka dala, v koflíku knížecím podala másla.
Water he asked — milk she gave; In a lordly dish she brought near butter.
26 Levou ruku svou k hřebu vztáhla, a pravou ruku svou k kladivu dělníků, i udeřila Zizaru, a ztloukla hlavu jeho, probodla a prorazila židoviny jeho.
Her hand to the pin she sendeth forth, And her right hand to the labourers' hammer, And she hammered Sisera — she smote his head, Yea, she smote, and it passed through his temple.
27 U noh jejích skrčil se, padl, ležel, u noh jejích skrčil se, padl; kdež se skrčil, tu padl zabitý.
Between her feet he bowed — He fell, he lay down; Between her feet he bowed, he fell; Where he bowed, there he fell — destroyed.
28 Vyhlídala z okna skrze mříži, a naříkala matka Zizarova, řkuci: Proč se tak dlouho vůz jeho nevrací? Proč prodlévají vraceti se domů vozové jeho?
Through the window she hath looked out — Yea, she crieth out — the mother of Sisera, Through the lattice: Wherefore is his chariot delaying to come? Wherefore tarried have the steps of his chariot?
29 Moudřejší pak z předních služebnic jejích odpovídaly, i ona sama také sobě odpovídala:
The wise ones, her princesses, answer her, Yea, she returneth her sayings to herself:
30 Zdali ale dosáhli něčeho, a dělí kořisti? Děvečku jednu neb dvě na každého muže, loupeže rozdílných barev samému Zizarovi, kořisti rozdílných barev krumpovaným dílem, roucho rozdílných barev krumpovaným dílem na hrdlo loupežníků.
Do they not find? — they apportion spoil, A female — two females — for every head, Spoil of finger-work for Sisera, Spoil of embroidered finger-work, Finger-work — a pair of embroidered things, For the necks of the spoil!
31 Tak ať zahynou všickni nepřátelé tvoji, ó Hospodine, tebe pak milující ať jsou jako slunce vzcházející v síle své. I byla v pokoji země za čtyřidceti let.
So do all Thine enemies perish, O Jehovah, And those loving Him [are] As the going out of the sun in its might!' and the land resteth forty years.
