Psalmi 123

1 Hodočasnička pjesma. Oči svoje uzdižem k tebi koji u nebesima prebivaš.

[A Song of Ascents.] To you I do lift up my eyes, you who sit in the heavens.

2 Evo, kao što su uprte oči slugu u ruke gospodara i oči sluškinje u ruke gospodarice tako su oči naše uprte u Jahvu, Boga našega, dok nam se ne smiluje.

Look, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes look to YHWH, our God, until he has mercy on us.

3 Smiluj nam se, Jahve, smiluj se nama jer se do grla nasitismo prezira.

Have mercy on us, YHWH, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt.

4 Presita nam je duša podsmijeha obijesnih, poruga oholih.

Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scoffing of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud.
