Paul, a servant of God and an emissary of Yeshua the Messiah, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,
2 ⲃ̅ ϩⲛ ⲑⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲉ ϩⲁⲑⲏ ⲛⲛⲉⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ (aiōnios g166)
in hope of eternal life, which God, who can’t lie, promised before time began; (aiōnios g166)
3 ⲅ̅ ⲉⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲧⲁϣⲉⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁⲛϩⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲉϩⲥⲁϩⲛⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ ⲉϥⲥϩⲁⲓ
but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Saviour,
4 ⲇ̅ ⲛⲧⲓⲧⲟⲥ ⲡϩⲁⲕ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲧⲉⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ϩⲓ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲧⲉⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲙⲛ ϯⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲛⲧⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ
to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah our Saviour.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲓⲕⲁⲁⲕ ϩⲛ ⲕⲣⲏⲧⲏ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲕⲉⲥⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲙⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲅⲧⲁϩⲟ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓϩⲱⲛ ⲉⲧⲟⲟⲧⲕ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ
I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you—
6 ⲋ̅ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲙⲛϩⲱⲃ ϫⲓ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲁϥⲣϩⲁⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲉⲩⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲛⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲉⲛⲥⲉϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲕⲁⲧⲏⲅⲟⲣⲓⲁ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲙⲛⲧϣⲛⲁ ⲏ ⲛⲥⲉϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲁⲛ
if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behaviour.
7 ⲍ̅ ϣϣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲡⲉⲡⲓⲥⲕⲟⲡⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲙⲧⲣⲉⲩϭⲛϩⲱⲃ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲱⲥ ⲟⲓⲕⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲟⲩϫⲁⲥⲓϩⲏⲧ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲛⲟⲩⲣⲉϥϭⲛⲁⲧ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲛⲟⲩⲣⲉϥϯϩⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲛⲟⲩⲛⲟϣⲥϥ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲛⲟⲩⲙⲁⲓϩⲏⲩ ⲛϣⲗⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ
For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;
8 ⲏ̅ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉϥⲟ ⲙⲙⲁⲓϣⲙⲙⲟ ⲙⲙⲁⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲛϩⲁⲕ ⲛⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲛⲉⲅⲕⲣⲁⲧⲏⲥ
but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,
9 ⲑ̅ ⲉϥϭⲟⲗϫ ⲙⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲛϩⲟⲧ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲧⲉⲥⲃⲱ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉϣϭⲙϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲥⲟⲡⲥ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲥⲃⲱ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲟϫ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉϫⲡⲓⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲱϩⲙ
holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.
10 ⲓ̅ ϩⲁϩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲉϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲣⲉϥϫⲉϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲧⲁⲕⲉ ϩⲏⲧ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲃⲃⲉ
For there are also many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉϣϣⲉ ⲉϣⲧⲙⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲣϣⲣ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲏⲉⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲩϯ ⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲙⲉϣϣⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲙⲁⲓϩⲏⲩ ⲛϣⲗⲟϥ
whose mouths must be stopped: men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain’s sake.
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲕⲣⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϩⲉⲛⲣⲉϥϫⲓϭⲟⲗ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲉⲛⲑⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲉⲩϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ ϩⲉⲛϩⲏ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲟⲥϥ ⲛⲉ
One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons.”
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲧⲉⲓⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ϫⲡⲓⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϣⲱⲱⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲩⲉⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ
This testimony is true. For this cause, reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲉⲛⲥⲉⲕⲱ ⲛϩⲧⲏⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲉϩⲉⲛϣϥⲱ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲩⲕⲧⲟ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲉ
not paying attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲛⲕⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲛⲉⲧϫⲁϩⲙ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲁⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲉⲩⲕⲉϩⲏⲧ ⲥⲟⲟϥ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉⲩⲥⲩⲛⲓⲇⲏⲥⲓⲥ
To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲥⲉϩⲟⲙⲟⲗⲟⲅⲓ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲥⲉⲁⲣⲛⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲩϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲩⲃⲏⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲩⲟ ⲛⲁⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲛϫⲟⲟⲩⲧ ϩⲛ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ
They profess that they know God, but by their deeds they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.
