撒母耳记上 24
1 扫罗追赶非利士人回来，有人告诉他说：“大卫在隐·基底的旷野。”
It happened, when Saul was returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying, "Look, David is in the wilderness of En Gedi."
2 扫罗就从以色列人中挑选三千精兵，率领他们往野羊的磐石去，寻索大卫和跟随他的人。
Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his men on the rocks of the wild goats.
3 到了路旁的羊圈，在那里有洞，扫罗进去大解。大卫和跟随他的人正藏在洞里的深处。
He came to the sheep pens by the way, where there was a cave; and Saul went in to relieve himself. Now David and his men were abiding in the innermost parts of the cave.
4 跟随的人对大卫说：“耶和华曾应许你说：‘我要将你的仇敌交在你手里，你可以任意待他。’如今时候到了！”大卫就起来，悄悄地割下扫罗外袍的衣襟。
The men of David said to him, "Look, the day of which Jehovah said to you, 'Look, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, and you shall do to him as it shall seem good to you.'" Then David arose, and cut off an edge of Saul's robe secretly.
5 随后大卫心中自责，因为割下扫罗的衣襟；
It happened afterward, that David's heart struck him, because he had cut off an edge of Saul's robe.
6 对跟随他的人说：“我的主乃是耶和华的受膏者，我在耶和华面前万不敢伸手害他，因他是耶和华的受膏者。”
He said to his men, "Jehovah forbid that I should do this thing to my lord, Jehovah's anointed, to put forth my hand against him, since he is Jehovah's anointed."
7 大卫用这话拦住跟随他的人，不容他们起来害扫罗。扫罗起来，从洞里出去行路。
So David restrained his men with these words and did not allow them to rise against Saul. And Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.
8 随后大卫也起来，从洞里出去，呼叫扫罗说：“我主，我王！”扫罗回头观看，大卫就屈身、脸伏于地下拜。
Afterward David also arose and went out of the cave, and called after Saul, saying, "My lord the king." When Saul looked behind him, David bowed with his face to the earth, and showed respect.
9 大卫对扫罗说：“你为何听信人的谗言，说大卫想要害你呢？
David said to Saul, "Why do you listen to men's words, saying, 'Look, David seeks your harm?'
10 今日你亲眼看见在洞中，耶和华将你交在我手里；有人叫我杀你，我却爱惜你，说：‘我不敢伸手害我的主，因为他是耶和华的受膏者。’
Look, this day your eyes have seen how that Jehovah had delivered you today into my hand in the cave, but I refused to kill you, and my eye spared you; and I said, 'I will not put forth my hand against my lord; for he is Jehovah's anointed.'
11 我父啊，看看你外袍的衣襟在我手中。我割下你的衣襟，没有杀你；你由此可以知道我没有恶意叛逆你。你虽然猎取我的命，我却没有得罪你。
Moreover, my father, look, yes, see the skirt of your robe in my hand; for in that I cut off the skirt of your robe, and did not kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor disobedience in my hand, and I have not sinned against you, though you hunt for my life to take it.
12 愿耶和华在你我中间判断是非，在你身上为我伸冤，我却不亲手加害于你。
May Jehovah judge between me and you, and may Jehovah avenge me of you; but my hand shall not be on you.
13 古人有句俗语说：‘恶事出于恶人。’我却不亲手加害于你。
As the proverb of the ancients says, 'Out of the wicked comes forth wickedness;' but my hand shall not be on you.
14 以色列王出来要寻找谁呢？追赶谁呢？不过追赶一条死狗，一个虼蚤就是了。
Against whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom do you pursue? After a dead dog, or one flea?
15 愿耶和华在你我中间施行审判，断定是非，并且鉴察，为我伸冤，救我脱离你的手。”
May Jehovah therefore be judge and give sentence between me and you. May he see and plead my cause, and deliver me out of your hand."
16 大卫向扫罗说完这话，扫罗说：“我儿大卫，这是你的声音吗？”就放声大哭，
It came to pass, when David had made an end of speaking these words to Saul, that Saul said, "Is this your voice, my son David?" Saul lifted up his voice, and wept.
17 对大卫说：“你比我公义；因为你以善待我，我却以恶待你。
He said to David, "You are more righteous than I; for you have done good to me, whereas I have done evil to you.
18 你今日显明是以善待我；因为耶和华将我交在你手里，你却没有杀我。
And you have declared this day how you have dealt well with me, in that Jehovah had delivered me up into your hand and you did not kill me.
19 人若遇见仇敌，岂肯放他平安无事地去呢？愿耶和华因你今日向我所行的，以善报你。
For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him go away unharmed? Therefore may Jehovah reward you good for that which you have done this day.
20 我也知道你必要作王，以色列的国必坚立在你手里。
Now, look, I know that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand.
21 现在你要指着耶和华向我起誓，不剪除我的后裔，在我父家不灭没我的名。”
Swear now therefore to me by Jehovah, that you will not cut off my descendants after me, and that you will not destroy my name out of my father's house."
22 于是大卫向扫罗起誓，扫罗就回家去；大卫和跟随他的人上山寨去了。
David swore to Saul. Saul went home; but David and his men went up to the stronghold.
