2 Ka hmaunawnghanaw, nangmouh ni tanouknae a phunkuep na kâhmo awh navah lunghawinae lah doeh ao tie lah pouk awh.
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations,

knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
4 Nangmouh teh khire laipalah na roung awh teh, na kuep awh nahan, panguep awh.
Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
5 Nangmouh thungvah, lungangnae ka panki e awm pawiteh, phuenang laipalah tami pueng pasai laipalah kapoekung Cathut koe het naseh. Het pawiteh poe lah ao han.
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 Hatei, oupvoutnae lungthin tawn laipalah yuemnae hoi na het pawiteh na hmu han. Oupvoutnae lungthin ka tawn e tami teh kahlî ni tuicapa a thaw sak e hoi doeh a kâvan.
But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed.
7 Hot patetnaw teh, Cathut ni na poe han tie roeroe pouk na hanh seh.
For that man shouldn’t think that he will receive anything from the Lord.
8 Hot patet e tami teh a lungthin a samphei teh a sak e hnonaw pueng dawk ka cak hoeh e lah ao.
He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
9 Ayâ ni a hnephnap e tami teh Cathut ni a tawm nah a lunghawi seh.
Let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his high position;
10 Ka tawnta e tami teh Cathut ni a bo sak torei teh a lunghawi seh. Hatdawkvah, ka bawi tangrengnaw teh kahrawng kaawm e a pei ka sarut e patetlah a sarut han.
and the rich, in that he is made humble, because like the flower in the grass, he will pass away.
11 Kanî a tâco teh khumbei ni a pei a kamyai sak teh a sarut, a kamhlawngnae hai a rawk. Hot patetvanlah, amae tawnta hnopai a tawng lahun navah a kamyai teh ouk a kahma.
For the sun arises with the scorching wind and withers the grass; and the flower in it falls, and the beauty of its appearance perishes. So the rich man will also fade away in his pursuits.
12 Tanouknae hah ka panguep e teh, a yawhawi. Bangkongtetpawiteh, tanouknae a tâco toteh, Bawipa kalungpatawnaw koe lawk kam pouh e hringnae bawilukhung a hmu han.
Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love him.
13 Tacueknae ka kâhmo e ni, Cathut ni na tacuek telah tet nahanh seh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, hawihoehnae ni Cathut teh tacuek thai hoeh. Cathut nihai apipatet hai tacuek boihoeh.
Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
14 Tami teh mae hounlounnae dawk doeh tacueknae kâhmo awh teh, tacueknae dawk ouk bo awh.
But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed.
15 Hat toteh, hounlounnae ni, a vawn teh yonnae hah a khe. Yonnae a roung teh, duenae a tâcokhai.
Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin. The sin, when it is full grown, produces death.
16 Ka lungpataw e ka hmaunawnghanaw pouk payon awh hanh.
Don’t be deceived, my beloved brothers.
17 Kahawi hoi kakuep e poehnonaw pueng teh angnae apa koehoi ka tho e doeh. Cathut teh nâtuek hai kâthung hoeh. Kampuen thai e a tâhlip hai awmhoeh.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation nor turning shadow.
18 Bawipa ama ni a sak e pueng dawkvah, maimouh hah aluepaw lah na o sak teh, a ngainae patetlah lawkkatang lawk lahoi maimouh teh na khe sak toe.
Of his own will he gave birth to us by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
19 Ka lungpataw e hmaunawnghanaw, hothateh pahnim awh hanh. Apihai thainae koe lateh, a hue karang e lah awm awh. Lawk deinae hoi lungkhueknae koe lah teh ka hnawng e lah awm awh.
So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;
20 Tami e lungkhueknae ni Cathut lannae heh tâcawt sak hoeh.
for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God.
21 Hatdawkvah kakhin e nuencangnaw puenghoi kahawihoehe kaisuenae pueng tâkhawng awh. Nangmae lungthin muitha ka rungngang thai e, nathung patûe lah kaawm e Cathut lawk hah lungdo lungnemnae lahoi dâw awh.
Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 A lawk thai teh a khout toe telah namahoima kâdum awh hanh. A lawk dawk ka tawk e lah awm awh.
But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.
23 A lawk ka tarawi hoeh e tami teh hlalang dawk a minhmai ka kâkhen e hoi a kâvan.
For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror;
24 Kahawicalah a kâkhet teh a cei hnukkhu, amae meilam bang hoi maw ka kâvan tie tang a pahnim.
for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
25 Hateiteh, hloutnae kâlawk dawk kahawicalah ka khen niteh ka tarawi e teh, a thai teh pahnim laipalah ka tawk e lah ao. Ahnimouh teh tawksaknae dawk yawhawinae a hmu han.
But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom and continues, not being a hearer who forgets but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.
26 Tami buet touh ni kai teh a lawk ka tarawi e lah ka o telah a pouk han ei, a lai hah uk thai laipalah, amahoima kâdum pawiteh, ahnie bawknae e teh ahrawnghrang lah ao.
If anyone amongst you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
27 Pa Cathut e hmalah kathounge hoi ka khinhoehe bawknae teh, roedengnae ka kâhmo e naranaw hoi lahmainunaw khetyawtnae, talaivan khinnae hoi thoung nahanelah, mahoima kâkhetyawtnae naw hah doeh.
Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
