1 Kachapa kahilna ho sumil hih beh in, Kathupeh ho na lung sunga chen sah jing in,
My son, don’t forget my teaching; but keep my mitzvot ·instructions· in your heart:
2 Hichengsea kon hi, nakum ajop sau thei ding, chule phatheina bukim nachan theina ding ahi.
for length of days, and years of life, and peace, will they add to you.
3 Itih chan hi jong leh kitah nale khotona nalha-kang lou ding, hiche teni hi nangonga khivui oa naki o-ding, hichengse hi na lungthim sunga lekhajem banga naki-jih lut ding ahi.
Don’t let cheshed ·loving-kindness· and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Chuteng Pathen le mipi lungdei lam nahung hi thei ding, minphatna naki-lam doh thei ding ahi.
So you will find chen ·grace·, and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Nalungthim pumpin Pakai bou tahsan in, nangma hetna jenga kisong hih in.
Trust in Adonai with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding.
6 Nalam lhah natin chenga Pakai jeng naphondoh ding, chuteng Aman na lampi nakomu peh ding ahi.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
7 Nangma mitvet jenga kichang chihsah boldan, Pakai ging pum-in thilse dalhan.
Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear Adonai, and depart from evil.
8 Chutileh natahsa dinga damna hiding, chule nagu na chang dinga hatdohna hiding ahi.
It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones.
9 Nanei nagou chule gamasa jouse Pakai jabol pum’in tohdoh in,
Honor Adonai with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase:
10 Chutileh Aman nachang pang nasuh dimpeh a, nalengpitwi kholna jong aletset’a nasun dim peh ding ahi.
so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
11 Kachapa, Pakaiyin nasuhgimna nahsah mon koi dan, chule Aman nasuhdihna chu lungnopmo peh hih in.
My son, don’t despise Adonai’s discipline, neither be despondent when he corrects you:
12 Ajeh chu Pakaiyin asuhdih hohi angailut jeh ahin, mipan acha dihtah asuhdihji banga aphosalji ahi.
for whom Adonai 'ahav ·affectionately loves·, he reproves; even as a father reproves his son in whom he delights.
13 Chihna le hetthem theina kimu chu lungmonga kipah ding ahi.
Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gets understanding.
14 Ajeh chu chihna kitihi dangka sanga phachomjo ahin, chule aga chu sana sanga jong phachomjo ahi.
For her good profit is better than getting silver, and her teshuvah ·complete return· is better than fine gold.
15 Chihna hi songmantam sanga mantamjo ahin, nangaichat thil ho jeng tojong tekah thei ahipoi.
She is more precious than rubies. None of the things you can desire are to be compared to her.
16 Hinkho sausah thei jong chihna hin akhut jet lam’a atuh chah ahin, haosatna le jabolna jeng jong akhutvei lam’a akituh chah ahi.
Length of days is in her right hand. In her left hand are riches and kavod ·weighty glory·.
17 Chihna hin kipa thanop na lampia napui ding, alampi jouse chu lung chamna jeng ahibouve.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness. All her paths are peace.
18 Chihna kisanlut chan dinga hinna thingphung ahin, chihna tuh chah jing ho chu anunnom ahiuve.
She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her. Happy is everyone who retains her.
19 Chihna mangchan Pakaiyin vannoi leiset ana tungdoh in, thil hetthemna jal’a van mun ho asem doh ahitai.
By wisdom Adonai founded the earth. By understanding, he established the heavens.
20 Ama thil hetkhenna jal’a komtong ho kisemdoh a, meilhang pumpi jong gotwi a julhaji ahi.
By his knowledge, the depths were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew.
21 Kachapa, chihna tothon, thil datkhenji dan them in, namit vet in hiche ho jouse hi pannabei sosah hih in.
My son, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22 Ajeh chu hiche hohin nalhagao asuhnou jing a, nangong chang jenga jong khivui banga kijep thei ahi.
so they will be life to your soul, and chen ·grace· for your neck.
23 Chuteng lungmonga nalam lhah le ding, nakeng jong kipal talou ding ahi.
Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble.
24 Kichatna beihel’a jalkhun najot ding, na imut teng jong leh lungmong tah’a na-imut ding ahi.
When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.
25 Kiging man louva thiding kicha hihbeh in, migilou hoa kon manthahna hung lhung ding jong nagin louhel ding ahi.
Don’t be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes:
26 Ajeh chu Pakai bou na kulpi ahin, Aman nakeng jeng jong thanga ao-sah louhel ding ahi.
for Adonai will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being taken.
27 Nathahat laisen na kithopi thei chan ding in, thilpha nabol peh ding ahi.
Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.
28 Naheng nakom jenga jong chen hung kilen, jing le nale peh nanga tin, hinlah neinasan bol hihbeh in.
Don’t say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again; tomorrow I will give it to you,” when you have it by you.
29 Naheng nakom dounan thil gong hih beh in, ajeh chu amahon nakison piuva nakom’a cheng ahiuve.
Don’t devise evil against your neighbor, since he dwells securely by you.
30 Nachunga thilse bol-lou chu ajehbeijin kinahpi dan,
Don’t strive with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm.
31 Chule pumthoa natong mihem chu thangsetpi hih in, alam lhahna tinchanga kon chu nakiven joh ding ahi.
Don’t envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways.
32 Hitobang milung dihlou chu Pakaiyin athet ahin, milungtheng vang chu Pakaija kingai jing ahi.
For the perverse is an abomination to Adonai, but his friendship is with the upright.
33 Pakaiyin asapsetna chu miphalou ho inchunga alhung jin, midih ho chenna in chu Pakaiyin phatthei aboh ding ahi.
Adonai’s curse is in the house of the wicked, but he blesses the habitation of the upright.
34 Pakaiyin minoise ho chunga noisena alhunsah jin, akineosahte chunga lunglhaina aneijin ahi.
Surely he opposes the mockers, but he gives chen ·grace· to the humble.
35 Miching chun mitea kon jana akimu ding, mingol ho vang muda chang diu ahitai.
The wise will inherit kavod ·weighty glory·, but shame will be the promotion of fools.
