By cheshed ·loving-kindness· and truth iniquity is atoned for. By the fear of Adonai men depart from evil.
7 Mihem chu achena lam jouse Pakai lungdei ahitengleh, Pakaiyin ama chu amelmate tohjong akichamsah jitai.
When a man’s ways please Adonai, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 Thildihlou pum’a kai-tampi kidon khom sang in, thildih’a lhomcha nei ding aphajoi.
Better is a little with righteousness, than great revenues with lo'mishpat ·injustice·.

It is an abomination for kings to do wrong, for the throne is established by righteousness.
13 Leiguia kon thudih kiseidoh hi lengpa din lunglhai aum in, ajeh chu lengpan thu adih’a sei chu angailun ahi.
Righteous lips are the delight of kings. They 'ahav ·affectionately love· one who speaks the truth.
14 Lengpa lunghan nahi gihsalna ahin, hinlah miching chun lengpa lunghanna adamsah jin ahi.
The king’s wrath is a messenger of death, but a wise man will pacify it.
15 Lengpa mailhai sel’a aum teng, damna akibe jin, lengpa lunglhaina jong hi, gohung phi lhaji meilhang tobang ahi.
In the light of the king’s face is life. His favor is like a cloud of the spring rain.
16 Sana sang in chihna kimu dei aum jon, dangka sang’a jong thil hetthemna kisan ding ahi.
How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! Yes, to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.
17 Michondih chu thilse lam’a kon’in akiheidoh jin, achena tinchenga limgehpa chu kihinso teiding ahi.
The highway of the upright is to depart from evil. He who keeps his way preserves his soul.
18 Manthah ding kon le kiletsahna ahung lhung loi jin, kipal lhuh ding konleh, lhagaova hoithana ahung um loi jitai.
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
19 Mikiletsah hotoh thil kichomdoh kihop sang in, kineosah a vaichate toh lhat khom anom e.
It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, than to divide the plunder with the proud.
20 Min ahilna ngaija chu khangtou jing ding, chule Pakaija kisong chan chu anunnom ahi.
He who heeds the Word finds prosperity. Whoever trusts in Adonai is blessed.
21 Mi-lungchingpa chu thil hethemmi kiti ding, chule lunglhaina’a thuseipan mi athujo tei ding ahi.
The wise in heart shall be called prudent. Pleasantness of the lips promotes instruction.
22 Chihna nei mi chu hinna twinah tobang ahin, mingol ho ngolna hi talen matna bep ahi.
Understanding is a fountain of life to one who has it, but the punishment of fools is their folly.

A man of violence entices his neighbor, and leads him in a way that is not good.

One who winks his eyes to plot perversities, one who compresses his lips, is bent on evil.
31 Sam-kang liuva hinna hi, loupina lallukhuh ahin, adih jenga hinkho akiman teng, hitobanga hi hinkhosot thei ahibouve.
Gray hair is a crown of glory. It is attained by a life of righteousness.
32 Kihatsah sang in thohhat tah’a lungneng apha jon, alungput athua nunsah joupa chu, khopi khat nokhum’a kilah sang in aphachom joi.
One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.
33 Khutphang sunga vang akive jin, hinlah vang phatna leh phatlouna chu Pakaija hung kon bou ahi.
The lot is cast into the lap, but its every mishpat ·decision· is from Adonai.
