< Thempu Dan 16 >

1 Dan toh kitoh louva Pathen angsunga thilto anabol lhon jal'a, thina chang teni Aaron chapate ni thinung in Pakai, Pathen in Mose henga hiti hin aseipeh in,
Yahweh spoke to Moses—this was after the death of Aaron's two sons, when they had gone near to Yahweh and then died.
2 Pakai, Pathen in Mose henga hiti hin asei tan, “Na sopipa Aaron jah a seipeh tan pondal kidalna muntheng lailung, thingkong chunga um ngailut hepi touna maiya ama cham in alut nom phat chan in hung lut lou ding, hichu ahilouleh thi jeng thei ahi; ajeh chu hichea ngailut hepi touna chunga khu keima meiloma kilahji kahi.”
Yahweh said to Moses, “Speak to Aaron your brother and tell him not to come at just any time into the most holy place inside the curtain, before the atonement lid that is on the ark. If he does, he will die, because I appear in the cloud over the atonement lid.
3 Aaron vang hiche munthenga hi lut theia, chonset thilto dinga bongchal gol khat leh kelngoi chal khat jaonaa ahin kai ding,
So here is how Aaron must come into the most holy place. He must enter with a young bull as a sin offering, and a ram as a burnt offering.
4 Chule tupet ponnema kikhui sangkhol chol len chu aki ah ding, tupet ponnem a kikhui toka chol jong akichen a, chule tupet ponnem a kikhui chalchep konggah chu akong akigah a, tupet'a kikhong delkop jong akop ding, hichengse hi von lah a atheng ahin, hijeh chun thempu pan jong hiche von hochu akivon theina din atahsa pumpi tuiya kisil thengsel ding ahi.
He must put on the holy linen tunic, and he must put the linen undergarments on himself, and he must wear the linen sash and linen turban. These are the holy garments. He must bathe his body in water and then dress himself with these clothes.
5 Chule Israel chate khoppi apat chu kelchal nou nitah, pumgo thiltoa to dinga kelchal khat ma akimat ding ahi.
He must take from the assembly of the people of Israel two male goats as a sin offering and one ram as a burnt offering.
6 Aaron in jong atumbeh a ama dinga bongchal khat atodoh ding, hitia chu amading leh ainsung mite dinga kithoidamna anei masat ding ahi.
Then Aaron must present the bull as the sin offering, which will be for himself, to make atonement for himself and his family.
7 Chule Aaron in jong kelchal teni chu akai ding, kikhop khomna ponbuh kotbul Pathen ansunga chu adinsah a,
Then he must take the two goats and set them before Yahweh at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
8 Chule Aaron in jong kelchal teni dia phun asan ding, hiche aphunsan lah a khat chu, Pakai ding chule aphunsan khat vang chu Azazel chang ding ahi.
Then Aaron must cast lots for the two goats, one lot for Yahweh, and the other lot for the scapegoat.
9 Chule Aaron in jong Pakaiya dia phun, achunga phunchan chuhna kelcha chu akai ding, chonset thiltoa atodoh ding ahi.
Aaron must then present the goat on which the lot fell for Yahweh, and offer that goat as a sin offering.
10 Hitobanga chu Azazel chan ding phun pha, achunga phunchan chuhna kelcha chu kithoidamna dinga ahing laiya todoh ding, hichu Azazel chan dinga gamlah a ahinga lha mang ding ahi.
But the goat on which the lot fell for the scapegoat must be brought alive before Yahweh, to make atonement by sending him away as a scapegoat into the wilderness.
11 Aaron in jong amatah chonset thilto dinga bongchal chu atodoh ding, hiche bongchal chu ama chonset thilto dinga akitha ding ahi.
Then Aaron must present the bull for the sin offering, which will be for himself. He must make atonement for himself and for his family, so he must kill the bull as a sin offering for himself.
12 Chule Aaron in jong Pakai angsung maicham phunga pat, meiam kong khat dim hichu gimnamtui lhutna ding, chule hoitah a kisemsa gimnamtui khut dimni aham doh a, hichu pondal kikhai kal lama chu apohlut ding ahi.
Aaron must take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before Yahweh, with his hands full of finely ground sweet incense, and bring these things inside the curtain.
13 Hitia chu Pakai angsunga meikong lah a gimnamtui chu alelhah ding, chule hettohsahna dinga kido ngailut hepi touna chu, gimnamtui kilhutna meikhu chun atom sohhel ding ahi, hichu ahilouleh thinan alhun thei ahi.
There he must put the incense on the fire before Yahweh so that the cloud from the incense may cover the atonement lid over the covenant decrees. He must do this so he will not die.
14 Chule bongchal thisan chu themkhat alah ding, akhut jung akona ngailut hepi touna mailah a chu athe lhah ding, ngailut hepi touna mailah a chu akhut jung akona sagi veijen athe khum ding ahi.
Then he must take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the front of the atonement lid. He must sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times before the atonement lid.
15 Hiche jouteng chule mipi dinga chonset thilto kelcha chu atha ding, athisan vang chu pondal sunglama achoilut a, hiche kelcha thisan chu bongchal thisan kibolna bang bang achu abol ding, ngailut hepi touna chungvum chule ngailut hepi touna maiya chu athin khum ding ahi.
Then he must kill the goat for the sin offering that is for the people and bring its blood inside the curtain. There he must do with the blood as he did with the blood of the bull: He must sprinkle it on the atonement lid and then before the atonement lid.
16 Hitobang achu Israel chate aboh a aumna jouseu leh chonset a aumnauva kona muntheng pen chu asuhtheng ding, hitobang akona hi ngahmun lailung chu atheng loua umji ahitan, suh thengna abolji ding ahi.
He must make atonement for the holy place because of the unclean actions of the people of Israel, and because of their rebellion and all their sins. He must also do this for the tent of meeting, where Yahweh lives among them, in the presence of their unclean actions.
17 Muntheng pen suhthengna dia Aaron asung lhah a ahung potdoh kit kahsea, kikhop khomna ponbuh sunga koima umthei lou ding ahi. Amavang ama le ainsung mite chule miho dinga thensona anei ding,
No one must be in the tent of meeting when Aaron enters it to make atonement in the most holy place, and until he comes out and has finished making atonement for himself and for his family, and for all the assembly of Israel.
18 Chule maicham phunga pumgo thilto abola suh thengna anei ding, hichea chu bongchal thisan phabep le kelcha thisan phabep alah a, maicham ninga selki hose chu anunat ding ahi.
He must go out to the altar that is before Yahweh and make atonement for it, and he must take some of the bull's blood and some of the goat's blood and put it on the horns of the altar all around.
19 Hiche thisan chu akhut junga akhoi ding, chuteng maicham chung vum lah achu athin khum ding ahi. Hitia hi Israelte chonset jal'a maicham asema athenso ding ahi.
He must sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times to cleanse it and set it apart to Yahweh, away from the unclean actions of the people of Israel.
20 Chule Aaron in jong muntheng pen jouse le Pakai Pathen chenna ponbuh suhthengna chule maicham sutheng naho achai kimsoh teng leh, phun phatna dia kelcha chu akatdoh ding ahi.
When he has finished atoning for the most holy place, the tent of meeting, and the altar, he must present the live goat.
21 Chuteng Aaron in akhut teni kelcha chunga chu angap ding, chonset thil ho ahin, gitlouna jouse, Israel chaten doumah aboldoh jouseu aphondoh ding, kelcha chunga buhlhah peh banga abola, chuteng son umtah mikhat chun gammang lah a dellut ding ahi.
Aaron must lay both his hands on the head of the live goat and confess over him all the wickedness of the people of Israel, all their rebellion, and all their sins. Then he must put that sinfulness on the head of the goat and send the goat away in the care of a man who is ready to lead the goat into the wilderness.
22 Hiche kelcha chun achonsetna ho jouseu chu, chenna loubeh gammang lah khat a apohmang ding ahi.
The goat must carry on himself all the people's wickedness to a solitary place. There in the wilderness, the man must let the goat go free.
23 Chujouteng muntheng sung alut masanga, thempu vona kivon chengse chu kikhop khomna ponbuh lut a Aaron in aga puilut ding, hiche muna chu ahin dalhah diu ahi.
Then Aaron must go back into the tent of meeting and take off the linen garments that he had put on before going into the most holy place, and he must leave those garments there.
24 Chule muntheng khat a kisil lha ding, akivona ngai banga kivona hichea chu amatah chonsetna le mipi chonset thensona dinga, pumgo thilto chu anei ding ahi.
He must bathe his body in water in a holy place, and put on his normal garments; then he must go out and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering for the people, and in this way make atonement for himself and for the people.
25 Chule chonset thoidam nadia sathao jouse chu, maicham phunga agovam ding ahi.
He must burn the fat of the sin offering on the altar.
26 Chule gammang lah a kelcha delmang pachu, ngahmun ahung lhun kah a avon jouse akisop lhah ding, ama jeng jong kisil lha ding ahi.
The man who let the scapegoat go free must wash his clothes and bathe his body in water; after that, he may come back into the camp.
27 Chonset thoidamna dia kithat bongchal le kelcha teni thisan jong chonset abeina thei ding in, muntheng pena kikoisa chu ngahmun polama govam ding, avun leh asa chule agil jaonaa aboncha govam ding ahi.
The bull for the sin offering and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, must be carried outside the camp. There they must burn their hides, flesh, and dung.
28 Hitia chu agouvam penpen in ngahmun asung lhah kah a, aponsil jouse asop lhah ding, chuteng ngahmun lai achu sunglha bep ding ahi.
The man who burns those parts must wash his clothes and bathe his body in water; after that, he may come back into the camp.
29 Chule hiche dan hi akhang akhanga na jui diu, lha sagi, nisom alhin nikho teng Israel chate chule alah uva cheng gamchom mihon an angol diu, na atoh louhel diu ahi.
It will always be a statute for you that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you must humble yourselves and do no work, whether the native born or a foreigner who is living among you.
30 Hou thulam dola thenna anei na ding un, hiche nikhoa chu achonset nau thoidamna nei ding ahi.
This is because on this day atonement will be made for you, to cleanse you from all your sins so you will be clean before Yahweh.
31 Hiche nikho hi nikho theng ahin, an ngol ding natoh jong bol louva umding ahi. Hitia chu dan jouse hi akhang akhanga chepi ding ahi.
It is a solemn Sabbath of rest for you, and you must humble yourselves and do no work. This will always be a statute among you.
32 Thempupa khela dantoh kitoh a thensona changsa, thempu chungnung in suh thengna kin anei ding, thempu vona kivon ding,
The high priest, the one who will be anointed and ordained to be high priest in his father's place, he must make this atonement and put on the linen garments, that is, the holy garments.
33 Pakai chenna ponbuh chule muntheng chungnung, maicham phung chule thempu ho jouse le mipi ho chu suhthengna abolpeh ding ahi.
He must make atonement for the most holy place; he must make atonement for the tent of meeting and for the altar, and he must make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.

This will always be a statute for you, to make atonement for the people of Israel because of all their sins, once in every year.” This was done as Yahweh commanded Moses.
